I arrived outside
St Mary's college. An old looking building. I went inside and was
handed some keys, and OU name badge and a timetable. That was registration.
I now had two hours to kill until the introductory lecture at 4:00pm
so I walked into centre of Durham and watched the Miners' Gala.
The Gala consisted of lots of Miners' Brass Bands marching around
playing nice tunes and carrying banners. It was good fun as the
sun was out and the entire centre had been closed to traffic. The
cathedral and castle looked lovely in the afternoon light.
