Tularemia:

This rare disease occurs in various rodents and is transmitted to humans, dogs, and rabbits by ticks. The disease was first reported in Tulare County, California; unfortunately there is no treatment as of this writing.
Symptoms in rabbits are ruffled coat, weight loss, sneezing, and an overall weakness; the rabbit has a light fever (103-104 degrees F; the normal temperature of a healthy rabbit is between 101 and 102 degrees F).
When tularemia is suspected, immediately consult a veterinarian, who in turn must report to public health authorities when such a diagnosis is made. Should you or anyone in your family show any symptoms of the disease (fever, weakness, respiratory distress, etc.) be sure to contact your own physician at once. When you do so, remember to tell him or her that you keep rabbits.
