Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-5 So. Zan Payne, 6-3 Sr. JJ Ogbogu, 6-6 Jr. Peter Whitman, 5-11 Sr. Donovan Morris, and 6-4 Jr. Luke Johnson. Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 6-0 Jr. Cameron Greenup, 6-1 Jr. Chris Wharton, 6-6 Sr. Ross Jenkins, 6-0 Sr. Harrison Lane, and 5-10 Sr. Jaelin Jenkins.
Lexington Catholic outscored Lafayette 29-11 in the second quarter on their way to a 67-60 victory. There were five lead changes and five ties in this game. Lexington Catholic shot 50% from the field including eight of 19 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 17 of 22 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 19 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 44.7% from the field including four of 18 from beyond the arc. The Generals connected on 14 of 19 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 16 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Luke Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 24 points and six assists. Donovan Morris added 23 points including four three point baskets. Zan Payne recorded seven points and 11 rebounds.
Ross Jenkins led Lexington Catholic with 18 points and five rebounds. Jenkins was six of six from the field and six of seven from the free throw line. Harrison Lane added 12 points and seven assists.
