Clara Rosini.  Indiana coach Teri Moren countered with 6-3 Jr. Aleska Guibe, 6-0 Jr. Grace Berger, 6-3 So. MacKenzie Holmes, 5-10 Sr. Jaelynn Penn, and 5-11 Sr.. Ali Patberg.

 

Eastern Kentucky’s young squad got their baptism of fire on the road against nationally ranked Indiana as they trailed 34-8 after the first quarter on their way to a 100-51 loss.  Indiana shot 54.7% from the field including nine of 26 from the three point line.  They connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 56 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 12 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  They held a decisive 60-12 advantage on points in the paint.  Eastern Kentucky shot 25% from the field including nine of 30 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on two of six free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored seven points off eight Indiana turnovers.

 

MacKenzie Holmes led Indiana with 26 points on 13 of 13 from the field, eight rebounds, two steals, and seven blocked shots.  Ali Patberg added 18 points. Grace Berger recorded 17 points including two three point baskets,10 rebounds, and 10 assists..  6-2 Jr. Danielle Patterson chipped in with 14 points including two three point baskets.  6-0 So. Grace Waggoner pulled down nine rebounds.

 

5-9 Fr. Amerah Steele led Eastern Kentucky with 13 points including three three point baskets.  Alice Recanati added 11 points and three rebounds.  5-10 Jr. Kennedy Azubike recorded 10 points and four rebounds.  Corriana Evans pulled down nine rebounds.

Eastern Kentucky University utilized a 27-12 advantage over Morehead state in the second quarter to earn a 64-58 victory.  Eastern Kentucky shot 33.9% from the field including seven of 22 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 17 of 22 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored eight points off 15 Morehead State turnovers.  Morehead State shot 35.2% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Golden Eagles connected on 15 of 22 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 21 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

Bria Bass led Eastern Kentucky University with 14 points, four rebounds, and four steals.  Catie Kaifes added 13 points including three three point baskets, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Teri Goodlett recorded 12 points including four of four free throws, six rebounds, and six assists.  5-7 Jr. De’Ayra Davis chipped in with seven points including two three point baskets. I’Liyah Green recorded four points, 11 rebounds, and two steals.

 

5-9 Jr. Jazzmyn Elston led Morehead State University with 19 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds.  Ariel Kirkwood added 11 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Ellie Jo Johnson recorded 10 points and 11 rebounds.  Breuna Jackson chipped in with seven points, two rebounds, and two assists.

Southeast Missouri coach Rekha Patterson started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Tesia Thompson, 5-10 Sr. Jessie Harshberger, 6-1 GS Denisha Gardener, 5-4 Sr. Carrie Shephard, and 5-6 So. Taelour Pruitt.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Samantha Williams countered with 6-1 Jr. Samari Mowbray, 5-11 Jr. Bria Bass, 6-2 Jr. I’Liyah Green, 5-6 Jr. Teri Goodlett, and 5-7 Jr. De’ayra Davis.

 

Southeast Missouri trailed 12-6 after the first quarter but rallied to defeat Eastern Kentucky University by a score of 60-44.  Southeast Missouri shot 35.4% from the field including three of 16 from the three point line.  The Redhawks connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 16 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky University shot 27.9% from the field including five of 27 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored five points off 10 SEMO turnovers.

 

Tesia Thompson led Southeast Missouri with 13 points including nine of 10 free throws, 12 rebounds, and four assists.  Carrie Shephard added 13 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, two blocked shots, and five steals.  6-0 Sr. Jocelyn Taylor recorded 12 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  5-8 Fr. Roshala Scott chipped in with nine points and four rebounds.  Denisha Gardener recorded six points and 13 rebounds.

 

I’Liyah Green led Eastern Kentucky University with 17 points, 14 rebounds, five blocked shots, and two steals.  Teri Goodlett added six points on two three point baskets, two rebounds, and two assists.  Bria Bass pulled down seven rebounds.
