Day 9
Wednesday October 5, 2011
Today was moving day again for the last time of this trip. We gathered up the rest of our things and headed out of the Aquarius and back into Las Vegas. The ride back was smooth but it took a little longer to get to our next hotel all of the way out in Summerlin at the Suncoast. We also stopped off in Henderson to drop off laundry for some fluff and fold service on the way through. We chose this place because Dee really enjoyed the rooms last trip and I got an Emerald renewal mailer offering 3 complimentary nights at any of the Boyd properties.
We were able to check right in and got room 419 with a golf course view. The rooms here are quite large with a king bed, nightstands, work desk, table and chairs, couch separated from the bed area by a short wall, & flat screen TV. The old TV cabinet/dresser combo has an insert where the TV used to go that now houses a safe and fridge. There is also a nice golf course view and we can see the Rampart from here as well. The bathroom is huge and separated into 2 parts. The main vanity has double sinks and very large. The other room has the toilet and tub.
Once we were settled in rested for a while and then hit the casino for some play. They are running a play and eat promo here where if you earn 600 points you get a dinner buffet. to do this quickly we tried some luck at dollar video poker. I lost $40 but Dee won $40 so we cashed out even and scored 2 free buffets.
We still had some time before dinner so we machine hopped playing some penny games. We were doing well here hitting a few bonus rounds and running a $40 buy in up to $75 before it was time to meet everyone for dinner.
For dinner we hit the buffet with local friend Carol and Yahtzee Mike came up from his home base downtown. Mike had been here for a while and a few minutes after he started playing hit a royal so he was pretty happy. We used our vouchers at the buffet and bought one more with points. The buffet here is one of the better ones in town at the locals casinos. Everything was good and the dessert selection was decent too. We spent quite a bit of time here chatting and didn't realize it but we were there so long they had removed all of the food from the buffet before we left.
After dinner Carol left and we played some penny games while Mike made a phone call. We didn't do well this time and turned the $75 ticket into $60 but we were still up on pennies for the day. Next up we played some single line video poker with Mike. I was getting beat up as usual this trip but Dee was holding close to even for the most part. She scored a few quads and eventually cashed out with a $10 win. Mike busted out and I did too but inserted another bill. I was down as much as $150 but a bunch of full houses and a few quads got me back to being $15 up. Mike left to go back downtown and Dee wanted to take a shot at dollars so that's what we did. This turned out to be a bad choice as neither of us hit any quads and we dropped $600 between us and didn't get very much action out of our money this time. As has been the theme for me this trip I've been getting dealt low pair very often but haven't been able to improve them.
After yet another ass kicking we packed in another day and came up here to bed.
Total win/loss for the day -$600
Total Comps for the day $109
