Day 4
Friday September 30, 2011
We slept in today and then I got ready to go out to meet my friend Gary over at the Noodle Exchange at the Gold Coast for lunch. Dee was going to stay back at Tuscany and hit the pool or play for a while. It is a 10X points day here again so we'll rack up some more points.

I ordered the lemon chicken lunch special and it was excellent but took forever to get to the table. The meal comes with egg drop soup, an egg roll, fried rice and the entree for $6.99

After a long lunch I hit the machines for a little play. I was up and down without any major hits. Dealt winners were sparse and other than 1 flush the best dealt winner I got was trips. I somehow squeaked out a $5 win and cashed out. After my play I swiped my card in the kiosk and saw I had a free entry into the Friday video poker tournament so I went over to the tourney area and entered. The game here is 9/6 DDB and I hit quad eights, sizes and aces with no kicker. I finished the session with over 2000 points. They don't post the results until tomorrow so we'll swing by there when we leave here to see how I did. They offer prizes of free play to the top 50 players.

I left the Gold Coast and came back to the Tuscany and took a short break and then headed out to the casino to get some food for us. I got meatloaf and Dee got another chicken salad sandwich. While I waited for the food to be made I played for a while and rack up some more of those 10X points. I took a shot and played $18/5 bonus and started out a session from hell losing the first 16 hands in a row. Things turned around after that hitting a full house, straight and a flush and eventually getting back to even for a few hands before the quick bleed started again. I dropped $100 here in less than 20 minutes but did rack up some points in the process.

Tonight we had tickets for Duran-Duran over at the Joint in the Hard Rock. Dee has always wanted to see these guys and it was one of the reasons we decided to take this trip (sure, they're playing in the local area too, but going to Vegas is way more fun). It's also better here because it's a much smaller venue and there's not really a bad seat in the house. I got these tickets through Ticketmaster for $89 each plus all of the stupid fees they charge. We were in the last row of the Joint which was Row N of Section 402 seats 17 & 18. One thing to note is whoever designed this place effed up because the last 4 rows of this place have obstructed views and it's not mentioned when you buy tickets. I wasn't too happy about this.

Opening for Duran-Duran was a group called Neon Trees. I'd never heard of them before this but I'm not up on current music these days. They were ok. Duran-Duran did a good show and played some of their newer stuff along with many of their classics. Amazingly, Simon Le Bon can still sing after all of these years!

After the show we went to Jack in the Box to grab a couple of shakes and then came back to Tuscany to play for a while on 10X points. Dee did well breaking even after about an hour of play but I got killed. I blew through $200 without hitting and quads and even 3 of a kind was a tough hand for me. I even took a shot at some DDB hoping to hit a quad and catch up but no luck. So far this trip we're highly under quaded and it's been a tough grind.

Total win/loss for the day -$300
Total Comps for the day $134
