Day 8
Tuesday October 4, 2011
Today was a lazy morning with it stormy early in the morning with thunderstorms and rain. We slept in quite late and then lounged around the room watching baseball playoffs on TV.

We finally got ourselves motivated and hot the casino. Today we would play on Dee's card for most of the day to keep her mailer levels coming. Today she's got $135 in free play and we'll rack up the same amount of points we did for her last time to hopefully make sure her future mailers are this strong. The only give up for doing this is that I currently at the next tier on my card and get double points while she only gets single points but it's worth it to get the additional free play every time we come down here.

Things were good here for Dee. She played on her free play and racked up the credit meter to over $400. I was on fire to start of with hitting aces on one of my first hands followed by a few other quads. I was up over $200 before things turned and the the credits started to disappear. I really am having a hard time understanding the bad run of luck on VP this trip. After dropping my initial $100 I moved over to a $1 slot machine that I've seen people hitting on quite frequently in the past. I was able to score a bonus round with 3 free wheel spins racking my credit meter up and getting my VP losses back.

I moved back over to VP and started playing again next to Dee where she was still sitting the whole time. I again started off well but then things turned and I dropped the entire $200. With enough play on Dee's card for the trip I walked over to the slot club booth to get my new cards. Based on my play last night I had moved up to the next level of card here which is red. The only real difference between the green and red cards is 3X points instead of 2X and a free pack of cigarettes per day. Neither one of us smokes but way back when we first started playing here we joked that it would be a great perk to get free smokes, and that I did! They will be given to a friend at work when I return home. When I got back to the VP machines Dee was cashing out a $300 ticket so even with me losing $200 we were up this session by $100.

Dinner tonight was at the buffet again. Tonight was Italian night and for those that don't know, Dee is a huge fan of Italian food. Everything here is basic but the foods are good.

After dinner we hit the machines again. We chose to play some single line dollar games. Dee used her $300 ticket from earlier and I played with cash. She hit a bonus quad but that got her back to even and eventually the VP gods sucked her $300 away. She had quite a run on that $135 in free play though. She moved over to that slot machine I hit on earlier and tried her luck there. Things were decent here on the $1 video poker for me and I hit quad threes, fives and full houses back to back to stay alive. Dee was doing well and hit a few wheel spins on her machine and came back over with a $154 win. I cashed out even and moved over to triple play. Things weren't good here and we both got killed with very little play. I even took a shot at DDB super times pay but just couldn't score a big hand when I had a multiplier and as it was the multipliers weren’t frequent enough.

Next up we wandered the casino floor playing some penny slot games for fun. We actually did quite well staying even for most of the time hitting some large bonus rounds. Dee even hit a quick hit progressive for over $80. We played these for quite a while but eventually lost everything we were willing to lose capping off a horrible day of gaming even though we got a lot of play in.

Before heading up to the room I was going to get some ice cream at the Dreyers stand but all they had left was rainbow sherbet. WTF is up with that? Instead we came up to the room and ordered room service. I really only wanted dessert but it had been about 6 hours since we had last eaten so I ordered a grilled cheese and chicken fingers for us to share. Both came with fries and I ordered a slab of chocolate cake. The food arrived fairly quickly for this place and the foods were actually hot, although the fries were not very good. They tasted like they'd been sitting for a while before they were delivered.

We capped off the night with a little TV then went to bed.

Total win/loss for the day - $700
Total Comps for the day $235
