Day 3
Thursday September 29, 2011
We were up early today and started off with a relaxing morning in the room. Once we were cleaned up we took a trip out to Sunset Station. I haven't played here in a long time and Dee likes it here. Recently Stations changed their slot club and joined all of their properties on one card. I needed to link up my Fiesta card with my Stations card since most of my points were at the Fiesta. In fact I have points on there that are so old I earned them at the Reserve! The boothling also said I had a card at Barley's which I did confirm. I hadn't played there in years but she said that there were points on there. I had 616,000 points after they merged my accounts so it looks like they increased my old points by 40% to accommodate the redemption change from 600 to 1000 points per dollar.

Once my accounts were combined we were off to lunch at the Grand Cafe. We are both happy that Stations finally “got it” and axed the CoCo's chain and brought back their own cafes. I ordered the meatloaf sandwich and some chicken noodle soup. Dee ordered fish and chips. We both thought the food was very good and the prices were decent.

After lunch we were off in search of something to play. We chose some 50˘ triple play machines. These are a bit higher then we normally play but I thought we'd take a shot on them. To make the deal a little better I also had a coupon for 3X points which was actually earning us 9 points per dollar played so the points were really going to add up today with 2 of us playing triple play for halves. The session was fair at best with few dealt winners and not that many quads. I was getting low paired to death and wasn't getting many bigger hands like full houses. Dee was struggling the same way. I did manage to pull a set of aces but they were no match for the run of crappy luck we were having. Somehow we were able to play for a few hours despite the bad luck. I guess we were hitting just enough hands to keep us alive. We ended up getting killed here but did rack up a lot of points on my slot card.

We left Sunset Station with another quick stop at the 99˘ Only store and then came back to Tuscany. I was going to go to the Pinball Hall of Fame and Dee was going to stay here and relax. Before I left I went to the cafe here and ordered her a chicken salad sandwich to go. I also thought I'd order myself a cup of beef barley soup. I almost died laughing when I saw the size of this container they put it in. It was no more than 4 ounces, if it were even that big.

While I was waiting for the food I tried out the new Hangover slots to see what they were like. They are the same design as the Sex in the City slots but have a lower bet of $1 to play all of the games instead of $2. I hit a few bonus rounds but ended up losing $20 before I quit and had to get the food.

I left Tuscany and made a quick stop at Jack in the Box for some tacos to hold me over since the cup of soup I got was a joke. When I got to the Pinball Hall of Fame I played a variety of classic pinball machines and video games. I spent about 3 hours here and then headed back to Tuscany. I cut across from Tropicana to Flamingo and after I did that I realized they are STLLL doing night construction of Flamingo and Paradise. This has got to be the longest construction project of all time. After sitting through 3 light cycles and moving 3 car lengths I said screw it. I took a left turn right over the median into Terrible's parking lot and cut through. Illegal? For sure but it worked.

When I got back to Tuscany I stopped off at Marilyn’s Cafe to get an order to go. I got a hot open turkey sandwich with rice and gravy and a fruit cup (that was coincidently in the same size cup as the soup was earlier).

While I waited for the food I played some more penny games and won back the $20 I lost earlier in the day.

I brought the food back to the room and watched a little TV while I ate. Dee was already sleeping at this point. I called it a night around midnight.

Total win/loss for the day -$900
Total Comps for the day $83
