Went The Day Well?
1942, UK, 92 mins, b/w. Dir: Alberto Cavalcanti.
Stars:Leslie Banks, Basil Sydney, Frank Lawton, Elizabeth Allan.

An intriguing Ealing Studios wartime film that caused something of an outcry when it was first released due to its subject, the infiltration of an English village by a group of Nazis. The film follows 72 hours in the life of the village, Bramly End and builds into almost an action film for the last 15minutes. Interesting and at times thought provoking.
Trivia: Thora Hird plays a land girl.
