SEPTEMBER 2nd, 2006

Well, we made it. We left the White Swan at 5:45am and drove to the airport. We then flew to Hong Kong. It was about 45 minutes in the air. We had a short 2-hour layover then it was off to the good US of A.

A Parting Shot of Dad and Olivia at the White Swan Hotel

We boarded the flight and then Amy found out that it was 14 hours. I told her it was 12. Emma and Abby did great. Olivia was perfect. She slept in my lap or on the floor. Amy was good until about hour 10. That is when she got sick. We do not know if it was food she ate or jet lag, but she had some issues that were not going away.

Emma and her Mei Mei (Little Sister) Hang Out and Play on the Long Flight from Hong Kong to Chicago

We were supposed to have a 5-hour layover (aargh!) in Chicago, but due to Amy not being able to keep food down, we spent the night and flew out the next day. It was real bad. She felt so bad.

Anyway, we made it and now we are adjusting to being home. Amy is switching her body over to East Coast time and I am staying on China time. I will switch over with the baby.

It seems as if Olivia is real confused; the air is different, the people are different and nothing is like what her old home was like. We have been trying very hard to make her feel at home but only time will do that.

This trip has been wonderful and the answer to our prayers. Thank you for all of your support via phone calls, cards and e-mails. We will keep you updated as time goes on.

China out! Really!
