We are excited to share our journey to Olivia with our family, friends, and those who may be thinking of adoption. Many people have asked why we are adopting. We have two healthy, beautiful children....why do we want more? There are several reasons that led us to this decision. From the beginning of our marriage, Jarrett had always wanted to adopt. One of his good friends from childhood was raised in a boy's home and this left an impression on him. We both realized how blessed we have been and started thinking there are so many children in this world without a Mom or Dad. When I thought about what if one of my children didn't have someone to read to them or tuck them in at night it broke my heart. That is when I realized one of my children didn't have that yet. Our little girl in China.

China was the easy part. God put it before us so many times that He's probably thinking...."Finally!" Jarrett has made several trips to China, and was affected each time. He has had many candid conversations with people who live under the "one child rule". There is no reason these girls shouldn't have the same love and opportunities as other children.

We started this process in late January, 2005. While we've kept busy and time has gone by pretty quickly, I can honestly say the waiting is getting hard. We are all very ready to find out where Olivia is, what she looks like and when we can go get her. Please check back, as we will post her referral as soon as we get this information.....

I can't wait to get her. I can't wait to play blocks with her. I will love her forever. We have named her Olivia because Daddy thought of it. Her room is so beautiful.....
