Everton 2-0 Fulham

Two valuble goals in first half stoppage time helped Everton to a 2-0 success over Fulham at Goodison Park.

Everton thoroughly deserved the three points, courtesy of another Kevin Campbell header and a low drive from Thomas Gravesen.

Both players did exceptionally well…as did their nine colleagues.

The first half was a somewhat dull affair, punctuated by a goal-line clearance by David Unsworth from a Barry Hayles effort and a sliding effort from Carsley that hit the side netting.

The first half was edging towards the interval when Everton were awarded a free-kick on the right. Mark Pembridge whipped the ball over and Campbell headed it past Van der Sar for his 5th goal of the season.

The home crowd were still celebrating when the lead was amazingly doubled just seconds later!

Gravesen was 40 yards from goal when he collected the ball but as no visiting player offered any resistance he carried it forward before unleashing an unbelievable powerful shot all along the ground that left Van Der Sar helpless.

The stuffing was knocked out of the Fulham challenge and Everton could easily have added more goals in the 2nd period.

David Unsworth’s shot on the hour was blasted with ferocious power but Van Der Sar’s positioning enabled him to parry it to safety.

Then Tomasz Radzinski, a tireless front runner for the entire match, suffered some awful luck in front of goal.

His snapshot came back off the right hand post, a close range effort that eluded Van Der Sar hit the left post and then his header was scrambled off the line by the keeper!

This was a fine win for Everton, David Moyes will hope to see more of this for the next upcoming games against Manchester United and Arsenal
