Physiology: The Katani are a humanoid like race without eequal. Each one stands at around seven and a half to nine feet tall and measure roughly two and a half feet across at the shoulders. Evolved from a hostile world, they were evolved for survival in the truest spirit of survival of the fittest.

Katani bones are much tougher than that of a Humans, as too is their grey skin. In effect, their rib cage comprises of only two bones, but these are two very large bones that form a solid shield protecting their internal organs. Highly developed muscles make them around three to four times stronger than a human.

Along the underside of their fore arms, Katani possess natural blades made of tougher cartilidge. These blades are naturally sharp and will heal back with time if damaged. Their mouth features lockable mandibles and each Katani has highly poisonous saliva like venom. What type this venom takes varies from Katani to Katani, passed down through genetics.

Katani eyes are coloured either yellow or green all the way across save for a thin cat like pupil in the centre. Their bodies however require a lot more sustenance than Humans do in order to maintain their energy levels and strength, but their digestive tracts are fortunately capable of palating an aweful lot more than most races.

Their hair grows virtually all over in the same way as a Human, save for the tops of their head which grows instead into a single mohican strip across the scalp. Males may also grow facial hair around the mouth. Hair is always coloured black or dark brown, other colours being unheard off.

Their skin tone varies from a light grey to a dark, almost black grey, which is down to combination of genetics and enviroment. Their immune system is highly efficient and Katani can endure both colder and hotter extremes than most other races.

Katani limbs only have four digits however, missing the thumbs that some other races possess.

Katani reproduce via sexual intercourse and pregnancy lasts for a total of six months. Births are always singular with the childs natural blades being soft and pliable. By the age of one sol though, Katani children's blades will have harden to become the deadly weapons that they are. Katani Children take around 11-14 sols to reach full maturity.

Katani live on average upto 55 sols, though some have been known to reach 90 sols naturally. As old age approaches, Katani skin grows soft and their hair shows a hint of grey in it. Their venom looses it's potency and the blades become blunt and useless.

Katani are intelligent, but most of this intellect is normally devoted to fighting in one form another, something which Katani are very good at. Both males and femlaes are aggressive and females in particular become very dangerous when they go through PMT as their period last 5-7 terradays out of every 21 terradays.

However, Katani minds are keen and perceptive and be applied to the more delicate sciences, though medicine has rarely ever been one of these as Katani heal incredibly quickly. The saying that what ever doesn't kill someone only makes them stronger can be very much applied to Katani.

Katani brains do not possess the psychic node that other races possess. This means Katani can never be psychic in any form but also renders them immune to many other psychic abilities that effect other creatures minds. This includes telepathy and telepathic races are unable to communicate with Katani via this form.

History: Katani for many millenia were a barbaric and warring people, constantly fighting each other and their planets naturally deadly predators. However, in the 83'000's, around twenty thousand Katani were abducted from their homeworld by the Monciffo Empire (which later became a part of the nation of Lafe), who bred and cloned them for the purpose of fighting in a war they shared with a couple of other nations.

These large battlions of Katani were now aware of the outside world and advanced technologies and took to the field very well. They proved quite successful in the difficult war and continued to be used as a form of solider in Lafe after the merging on the Lafe nations.

However, as fate would befall the race, the Katani discovered their origins (for they always assumed they were just another type of mutant before hand) and led a revolt against the Lafe government until they left Lafe as a whole and returned to their homeworld. There, they instructed the primative Katani off their homeworld about the truth of the galaxy around them and brought them upto modern day technological standards.

It was then agreed to join the Independant Alliance. It was orignally the idea that the Katani and the Independant Alliance would go to war against Lafe, but as chance would have it, the war never came. Instead, the Katani were granted their own kingdom within the Independant Alliance and since then have been strong members of the Independant Alliance, often found within their military.

Katani within the Nations:

Independant Alliance: The Katani are strongest here and have their own Kingdom. The Katani of the Independant Alliance can be found virtually every where, serving within any off the Independant Alliance armed forces as either soliders or leaders.

Independant Star Systems: There are only a few independant Katani colonies in the galaxy and the characteristic nature that ties them altogether is their strong aggressive natures.
