Average Height: 4" - 6"
Average Lifespan: 40 sols
Maximum Life Expectancy: 75 sols
Time taken to reach maturity: 10-12 sols
Sensory abilities: Sight, Hearing, Smell, Touch and Taste
Psychic abilities: Quite Rare
Genetic cross reference: Carbon based life form of the minor humanoid band
Physiology: Funok appear to look very much alike to Humans in all manner of their appearances. The irises are slightly paler and their skin seems to glow slightly, but otherwise they appear the same save for one major diffence. The average Funok stands only 4"-6" high.
Internally, Funok are also much the same as Humans, albeit, on a much smaller scale and the only differences being to compensate for the Funok's small size. However, Funok use a comparatively higher portion of their brains than most races, using up a full 90% on average. Funok seem to have a natural appitude for the sciences and other technical stuff.
Funok reproduce via sexual intercourse which leads to a pregnancy that lasts three months. Usually, only a single Funok child is born, but Twins or greater is not unheard off. These children then take around 10-12 sols mature.
Funok naturally live for about 40 sols, though some have been recorded to live naturally upto 75. As they get older, they get weaker and their hair begins to grey with age but their skin does not wrinkle like it does with humans.
Funok do have a problem however when it comes to surgical procedures in most nations and creating organs for a body as small as their's, let alone performing the surgery, can be very difficult indeed.
History: Funok developed well on their small home planet, living in large nations of their people across the globe which had their fair share of troubles and turbulant history. By the time the alien races colonised the galaxy, the Funok had reached quite a technological state including air travel, space flight and nuclear weapons (a prospect that was more scary for Funok than perhaps for any other race). Funok rockets by their standards were massive and could easily hold a hundred or more Funok, meaning a lot more Funok got into space sooner than with any other race.
Yet FTL travel had not been achieved by the time the Resbinarge Empire decided to introduce them to the bigger galaxy. Though the race was daunted at first and even intimidated by the sheer size of the people in the galaxy, most of them standing at least ten to twelve times their height, they soon adapted and picked up quickly the ways of modern technology.
Since that time, the Funok have proved to be a valuble asset, no matter where they may be.
Funok within the Nations:
Delta Feareo: The Funok here are either descended from those left behind from the time the Resbinarge Empire invaded Delta Deareo or transfered to the nation during the last millenia when Delta Feareo returned the invasion back to the Empire. Here, perhaps more than anywhere, the Funok often feel that they are excepted and respected, many ending up working for any one of the number of Delta Feareon Mega-Corporations. Off all of Delta Feareo's races, the Funok still feel a little intimidated by the Obleean who are liturally giants amongst giants.
Planica / Plantia: Sharing a unique and trusted relationship here with the Mistelareia, the Funok rarely bother with the power games of the political spheres and instead take positions of highly respected technicians and scientists.
Resbinarge: Once, like the Mistelareia, the Funok were an oppressed race, but with the end of the huge war between Delta Feareo and Resbinarge, the Funok are now finding that their assistance and guidance in rebuilding the nation is now highly valued.
The Independant Nations: Mainly descended from those who escaped the Resbinarge Empire over the millenia, the Funok can be found in small groups around the galaxy. Rare is there though a pure Funok coloney but many cities close to Funok populace have small communities dedicated to the Funok style and size of living.
Funok Powersuits:
Walking in a world with giants, the Funok found a way to even the disadvantage they had with their size by constructing what to them is massive power suits. These suits are about the size of human on average and allow the Funok to interact on an equal level to the other races. A large number of the race do indeed use these suits in one form or another.
To construct a powersuit in the game is fairly simalar to constructing power armour (see clothing and armour under the Dark Thaum price guide). First, you need to purchase a Jumper, gloves, boots (ankle) and trousers (a helmet is not needed) of a material that can normally be used in power armour (or Light Metal Chasis, see below). Then, you add five hundred credits to the cost to account for the internal electronics and for the Funok's cockpit. This gives you a basic Funok powersuits and you add to it any off the upgrades that are mentioned for power armour and / or any from the list given below.
Note: Powersuits made of Lafe materials can only be used with Faerion who use powersuits in the same way as Funok.
| Light Metal Chasis |
Cost Modifyer: x4
Availability: Common to Funok and Faerion
Light Metal Chasis is a metal chasis used most commonly in Funok powersuits. Though it has a slight armour value, it is not as strong as some of the plate armours used with heavier armoured powered suits, but it is a lot more cheaper to purchase and easier to get hold off. Light Metal Chasis may not be used for normal clothes however. |
| Oxygen Packs |
| If oxygen packs are purchased for a Funok powersuit, they last twenty times as long as they normally would have done due to the fact that Funok have to breath a lot less than other races. This same rule applies for other types of life support systems mention in the clothing and armour price guide. |
Living Quarters
Cost: 150
Availability: Common
Some Funok have a small living space built into their suits just beneath the cockpit with a place to sleep, eat and go to the toilet, liturally turning their powersuits into a mobile home as well.
Garage
Cost: 75 or 150 depending on size
Availability: Common
These can hold a Funok vehicle (see the vehicle section of the pricing guide). The cheaper version of this is big enough for a single bike sized Funok vehicle, while the more expensive one can hold either three bike sized or one car sized Funok vehicle.
Cargo Space
Cost: 100
Availability: Common
Some Funok build a number of cargo holds into their suits, enabling them to carry all manner of items in these spacious pockets on their suits.
Escape Pod
Cost: 250
Availability: Rare
In the event of an emergency (such as the suit being blown up) escape pods can be used to blast the cockpit (with the Funok inside) to safety. They usually feature a short two hour life support system as well in the event of being ejected in a hostile enviroment.
Shielded Cargo Space
Cost: 350
Availability: Rare
For the Funok wishing to engage in smuggling, this is a must. Shielding cargo space is hidden cargo hold space with sensor dampening shields around it, making it difficult for some security scanners to even detect it or it's cargo.
Weapons Turret
Cost: 500
Availability: Rare
Built in the place of where most races have their heads, this is a fully rotable weapons turret that can man by a second Funok to the pilot and can mount upto two pistol size weapons. The Weapons Turret can be made to be retractable as well for the additional cost of 200 credits, but a powersuit can have no more than one weapons turret.
Funok Battlesuits
The normal Funok powersuit normally can hold no more than two persons. However, the Funok have developed and can be occasionally seen using (normally within Funok military forces) a much larger version of the powersuit. These suits are normally about the size and bulk of an Obleean and have between four to ten Funok working and sometimes living as well onboard. Usually seen with a veritable array of weaponary attached, these battlesuits can become living arsenal of weaponary in their own right (like a minature version of Kyraken Battle Armour).
To build a battlesuit within the context of the game is simalar to that of building a Funok powersuit. However, double all the intial costs to make up for the additional cost of materials and add 1500 credits for the suits electronics and it's bridge. A battlesuit can then have upto eight weapons turrets built onto plus a variety of other equipment, including the items from the following list:
Large Weapons Turret
Cost: 800
Availability: Rare
This is a larger version of the Weapons Turret used in powersuits but it is a lot larger so can mount upto two rifle sized weapons.
Large Shoulder Weapon Mount
Cost: 400
Availability: Rare
A larger version of the Shoulder Mounted Weapon (see Clothing and Armour), it can mount any weapon of a heavy classification.
Hanger
Cost: 400
Availability: Rare
A bigger version of the garage, the hanger is capable of holding either a small Funok aerial craft or a Funok HGV.
