Genetic cross reference: Carbon based life form of the primary humanoid band

Physiology: Efell are Humanoid but when compared to other humanoid races of the same Genetic cross reference, their appearance is starkly different. Normally fairly slim in nature, they stand a little shorter than most humanoids. Also, their skin is covered in head to toe in a smooth green and brown fur. These two colours forms patterns across their body that could be liken to military camoflague. Beneath this fur, their skin is also of a green / brown colouration.

Their ears are pointed like that of an Elayan, though possibly slightly longer in length. This sometimes end in tufts of fur, though not always. Males and Females also possess a good crop of hair that sprouts from the scalp, though this is normally coloured brown or black. Ocassionally, an Efell will have green hair or hair that is a combination of several colours. They possess iris coloured from black to brown.

Efell arms end in the normal humanoid style hands, but their feet are off a slightly different design. They have the normal five digits like other Humanoids, but these take up a full half a length of the foot and are much more dexterous than that off other races. In addition, both their hands and feet possess a sixth digit, a long black claw that points in the opposite direction to their digits (on the back of the heel for the foot or where the hand meets the wrist on the underside for the hand). This can be used for additional grip whenever the Efell is climbing around.

The main final physical difference between Efell and other races is their twin long tails, covered in the same fur as the rest of their bodies. You can normally tell what mood an Efell is in by the way their tales move, though the main reason for the twin tails is as a source of balance for when the Efell are moving through trees and forest.

Internally though, the Efell are not much different to that of other primary humanoid races. Their respiration and heart rates are about the same as that of a Human, though they seem to carry less bulk and thus weigh a bit less.

Efell reproduce via sexual intercourse, which gives rise to a pregnancy lasting around a sol which always end in a single birth. The young Efell begins then to mature rapidily, being able to walk and climb trees by the age of one, but after this, the maturation rate drops off again and the child takes it's time to reach adolescences and then adult hood.

Female Efell cannot fall pregnant for at least 5 sols after having a child. Their systems take this long to fully recover from each pregnancy which also means it allows the Efell plenty of time to teach each new child the correct ways of behaviour. Female Efell do not suffer with a normal gestation cycle either, instead only developing a womb and releasing eggs once fertalisation is achieved. Female Efell only have a limited number of eggs as well, usually somewhere between 10-12. After this supply is exhausted, the Efell is incapable of having any more children, though an Efell with still unfertilised egs is capable of falling pregnant at any time throughout their whole life times. In fact, an Efell can fall pregnant within months of being born, but such course of action is never tested nor recommended for obvious reasons.

Upon reaching old age, Efell start to suffer with rapid hair growth. Without constant trimming, the once smooth hair becomes coarse ragged while the elderly Efell begins to find themselves exerting less energy than they used to. Organ failure though usually is the sign of old age and the biggest killer of elderly Efell.

Thankfully, due to their close internal structures to that of Humans, Efell organs are easy to repair or replace should their be any problems.

History: In the beggining, the Efell lived quietly and peaceful as tribes on their homeworld. They had built up a status quo amongst the large forest that cover their homeworld, living in a semi-medievil state in villages built up huge trees. Efell are a tree loving race and most would never even descend to the ground once in their whole life times. Though there was the occasional skirmish amongst their tribes (called hietara by the Efell), there was never any of the major bloody wars that tarnish so many other sentient races histories.

Many Efell were content to live this way. They did not want to develop further for life was fine as it was. A very passionate race though, they expressed themselves through art (especially wood carving) but there was no want to discover further ideas.

Yet, a small number of Efell grew curious of other possibilities of the way of living. These same Efell would climb to the highest heights of their trees and gaze at the stars for hours on end, asking the same question that so many other races once asked. Are we alone?

In time, these curious Efell organised themselves and began to develop new ideas and technology. Efell science was born and it was looked on unfavourable by most of the Efell populace. They were cast out of most tribes and so these small numbers gathered in a single place on their planet to live their own lifes, seperate of the rest of their race.

It was three hundred years after these outcasts set up on their own that they discovered space flight and though word of it spread around the rest of the globe, the vast majority of the Efell still considered it in some disgust. Why rock the branch when the branch was fine? Instead, they left them to their own devices, hoping one day these Efell would go away.

Which they did in a sense. These curious Efell turned their races passion to their sciences and developed FTL travel. They set out to colonise the star systems around them only to met the Deleebans, Humans and Elayans of the Requis nation. Talks began at once and quickly the Requis nation and the outcast Efell became friends. Excited, the outcast Efell brought their new found friends back to their homeworld to met the others and maybe change their minds.

Instead the tradional Efell were outraged. These outcasts not only went and did thoroughly un-Efell like things, they had now brought strangers to their beloved planet. They kicked the curious Efell off the homeworld and made demands that no other race would set foot again on their homeworld.

Obviousily distraught by this action, the untraditional Efell left their homeworld and joined up with the Requis nation. In time, they became just as much a part of the nation of Requis as the other three races, though there has never been as many Efell as Deleebans, Humans or Elayans.

These days, the homeworld is still occupied by traditional Efell. Though it now acknowledges that it is a part of Requis now, it still will not allow other races onto it's soil. If one mets an Efell, it is always likely to one who is descended from those Efell who were kicked off their homeworld.

Efell within the Nations:

Requis: The largest concentration of Efell can be found here and their passionate natures make them fit in well with the hedodistic nation. Yet, there numbers are few when compared to the other three races of the nation, but they are considered valuable assets none the less.

The Independant Nations: One or two Efell don't belong to Requis. These are the more curious ones who wanted to explore beyond the Requis nation, but there is even less Efell amongst the Independant worlds and nations than there are in Requis so meeting one is rare event indeed.

Efell Crossbreeds:

Huells: (Human - Efell) Humans and Efell can cross breed very readily, though it does not happen often due to the Efell nature. The offspring, a Huell, typically has either a lighter covering of fur than an Efell, or no fur but the Efell coloured skin. Others look like Efell but of different colouration as Human hair genetics get in the way (they end up coloured red, blonde or black). Their feet end up typically at a half way stage between the two races while the Efell twin tales may be present, or just one or even none.

Efellyan: (Elayan - Efell) Though like the Huells, this is a rare occurance due to the obscurity of the race, it can and has occured before. The resultant child of such a mix combines the traits of both parents, typically the Elayan statue comes through but they tend to lack any fur, being just of a greenish brown coloured skin, along with either races eye colouration. Efellyan may have both, one or no Efell tails and their feet tend to be a cross between ordinary Elayan feet and ordinary Efell feet.

Mistfell: (Mistelareia - Efell) Even rarer than Efell/Human or Efell/Elayan couplings is an Efell mating with a Mistelareia to produce a Mistfell. Once again, these only have wings half the time. Efell genetics also proves to be quite strong and feather colour normally ends up the same green/brown colour as Efell fur. Mistfell normally have traits from both their parents.
