Medjugorje Day By Day Nov 26 - SURRENDER YOURSELVES TO ME

Message of November 25, 2006

"Dear children! Also today I call you to pray, pray, pray. Little

children, when you pray you are close to God and He gives you the

desire for eternity. This is a time when you can speak more about God

and do more for God. Therefore, little children, do not resist but

permit Him to lead you, to change you and to enter into your life. Do

not forget that you are travelers on the way toward eternity.

Therefore, little children, permit God to lead you as a shepherd leads

his flock. Thank you for having responded to my call."

"The whole world" should "come together to venerate and adore Christ the

King hidden under the Sacramental species. Thus by sermons preached, by public adoration of the Blessed Sacrament exposed and by solemn processions, men unite in paying homage to Christ, whom God has given them for their King." "When once men recognize, both in private and in public life, that Christ is King, society will at last receive the great blessings of real liberty, well-ordered discipline, peace and harmony" (Pope Pius XI).

Honor in Mary, at the foot of the Tabernacle, all the mysteries of her life,

for all these were stations, as it were, leading to the Cenacle.  In Mary's

life there you will find the model and the consolation of your own life.  In

the Cenacle, this august Queen kneels as adoratrix and servant of the Most

Blessed Sacrament: kneel at your Mother's side and pray with her, and in so doing, you will continue her Eucharistic Life on earth." (St. Peter Julian Eymard)

Dear Friends,

I would like to share with you some quotes from Fr. Zlatko Sudac, and Mirjana Soldo regarding the importance of living in this present moment.

In the 1999 Winter issue of Medjugorje Magazine, Fr. Zlatko, who belongs to the diocese of Krk in Croatia, was interviewed by the editors of Medjugorje Magazine. Here are some excerpts from that interview:

"...God does not love you in the past or in the future. He only loves you right now. If you always live in the past or in the future, you will never experience the love of God."

"...I asked myself and I ask you, 'Do I ever live in this moment? Do I ever live in this present moment?' I understood that the answer was no. I always feel guilt about the past and I carry concern in my heart about the future. It's the truth that I don't live in the present moment. But God is an experience of now. God is something to experience now. You can immerse yourself in Him only in this present moment."

"You're seeking spirituality. Do you know how to tell how spiritual you are? When the amount of your spirituality is equivalent to the amount of truth which you can endure about yourself without escaping it, this is a sign of deep spirituality. That's how transformation of the heart happens. Only truth can free us. And then we'll be true adorers of the Lord. We will adore the Lord in spirit and in truth."

REAL FATHER

As the family was sitting down to dinner, Jennifer, who was in kindergarten at a Christian school, turned to her younger brother and then pointed at their dad. "That's not your real father," she said, startling the whole family.

"Yes, he is!" Andy said.

"No, he's not," Jennifer said. "God is your heavenly father." Then pointing at their dad again, she said, "That's your homely father!"

Pope John Paul II -

In a private conversation with the visionary Mirjana Soldo the Pope said: "If I were not pope I would already be in Medjugorje confessing."(1987) http://www.medjugorje.org/pope.htm

Mother Teresa  -

Who is the church? You and I.

The church are those who follow Jesus.

Meditations by Padre Pio - There are such sublime joys and such deep sufferings that words cannot express them. Silence is the last resort of the soul in ineffable joy as in extreme oppression.

 Archbishop Fulton Sheen -

No one is better than the next!

"The psychological reason for the modern fondness for news which deflates others or brings out the evil in their lives, is to solace uneasy consciences which are already laden with guilt. By finding others who apparently are more evil than we, we falsely believe that we are somehow better `than the rest of men' (Luke 18: 11)."

St. Faustina's diary  http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html  -

However, I asked my confessor what to do: whether I should continue to suffer this for the sake of sinners or ask the superiors for an exception by way of milder food. He decided that I should ask the superiors for milder food. And thus I followed his directions, seeing that this humiliation was more pleasing to God.       (1429)

Today, the love of God is transporting me into the other world. I am all immersed in love; I love and feel that I am loved, and with full consciousness I experience this. My soul is drowning in the Lord, realizing the great Majesty of God and its own littleness; but through this knowledge my happiness increases... This awareness is so vivid in the soul, so powerful and, at the same time, so sweet.       (1500)

I never cringe before anyone. I can't bear flattery, for humility is nothing but the truth. There is no cringing in true humility. Although I consider myself the least in the whole convent, on the other hand, I enjoy the honor of being the bride of Christ. Little matter that often I hear people say that I am proud, for I know that human judgment does not discern the motives for our actions.       (1502)

Quote of the Day If you wish to prevent all evil thoughts, let your eyes be modestly reserved, and make a league with them never to desire to look upon anything which is not permitted you to desire. -St. Gregory of Nyssa

Today's Tidbit The Solemnity of Christ the King is always celebrated on the final Sunday of the Liturgical Year. This feast reminds us that Jesus ultimate place is reigning over heaven and earth at the right hand of the Father. This theme is highlighted by the readings of preparation of the end times where Christ will come again that are read in the final weeks of the Liturgical Year.

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.

Nov 26 - SURRENDER YOURSELVES TO ME

Today Our Lady speaks of one of the primary messages of Medjugorje:

Dear children, I wish to tell you that I have chosen this parish. I guard it in my hands like a little flower that does not want to die.

I beseech you to surrender yourselves to me so that I can present you as a gift to God, fresh and without sin. Satan has destroyed part of my plan and wants to possess all of it. Pray that he does not succeed, for I wish you for myself so that I may continue offering you to God (Weekly Message August 1, 1985).

And from Paul's first letter to the Corinthians:

For whoever was called in the Lord as a slave is a freed person belonging to the Lord, just as whoever was free when called is a slave of Christ (1 Cor 7:22).

Reflection:

There is glory and joy in surrender to God. When we surrender to other masters we are crushed, shamed, and defeated. But when we give our lives over to God, we are glorified and find victory. An unknown poet knew the honor in this submission: "Make me a captive, Lord, and then I shall be free."

When we abandon ourselves totally to God, we stand before him with nothing: nothing more, nothing less, and nothing other than his Divine Will. Richard Baxter, a great religious writer, died with these words on his lips: "Lord, what you will, where you will, and when you will."

When we submit to God's complete and total control, we become "God-intoxicated", filled with his own life. There is no other way but the way of abandonment and surrender, as the Virgin emphasizes today. It can be hard, but it is essential to a fulfilled life.

Application:

In prayer today, live Our Lady's message: "I beseech you to surrender yourselves your selves to me, so that I can present you a gift to God."

"Hail, sacred tabernacles, where Thou, O Lord, dost descend at the voice of a mortal!  Hail, mysterious altar, where faith comes to receive its immortal food!  Oh, I love Thy temple!  It is an island of peace in the ocean of the world, a beacon of immortality!  Thou art near to hear us....  O happy Church!  Truly in thee is a hidden God, an infinite treasure, a copious redemption, an everlasting safety.  Human eye sees not, nor can any finite intelligence penetrate that ineffable, mysterious presence of Heaven's great Lord." (St. Paul of the Cross)

"One day a band of pirates went to attack the village of St. Rose of Lima, in Peru, South America. They were going to destroy the Church where Jesus was present in the Holy Eucharist. St. Rose loved her friend Jesus in the Sacred Host and did not want these mean men to hurt Him.  Often she visited Jesus, in the church, and talked to Him. Little Rose ran to the church and stood before the tabernacle . . . . She would not let the pirates get to Jesus, she was ready to die before letting them hurt Him! When the village people saw how brave she was they stood with her and prevented the pirates from attacking Jesus! In addition to this act of heroic bravery, she started Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration at the Churches throughout her village." (From the book Adoration for Children, by Linda Bracy)

They walked in tandem, each of the ninety-three students filing into the already crowded auditorium.

With rich maroon gowns flowing and the traditional caps, they looked almost as grown up as they felt. Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and moms freely brushed away tears. This class would not pray during the commencements

----- not by choice but because of a recent court ruling prohibiting it.

The principal and several students were careful to stay within the guidelines allowed by the ruling. They gave inspirational and challenging speeches, but no one mentioned divine guidance and no one asked for blessings on the graduates or their families. The speeches were nice, but they were routine

.......until the final speech received a standing ovation. A solitary student walked proudly to the microphone.

He stood still and silent for just a moment, and then he delivered his speech.... an astounding SNEEZE!. The rest of the students rose immediately to their feet, and in unison they said, "GOD BLESS YOU." The audience exploded into applause. The graduating class had found a unique way to invoke God's blessing on their future ... with or without the court's approval.

June 1986 response to a group of twelve Italian bishops seeking pastoral advice on people making pilgrimages to Medjugorje. "Let the people go to Medjugorje if they convert, pray, confess, do penance and fast." http://www.medjugorje.org/pope.htm

Mother Teresa  -

Vocation, for a Christian, is Jesus. Our means, how we spend our time, may be different, but it is still our love for Jesus in action.

Meditations by Padre Pio -

The Lord points out and calls, but we do not want to see and answer because we prefer our own interests.

It also sometimes happens that because the voice is always audible, we no longer hear it; but the Lord enlightens and calls. It is man who puts himself in the position of no longer being able to hear.

O Lord, You who penetrate my whole being and the most secret depths of my soul, You see that I desire You alone and long only for the fulfillment of Your holy will, paying no heed to difficulties or sufferings or humiliations or to what others might think.       (1360)

O my Lord, my soul is the most wretched of all, and yet You stoop to it with such kindness! I see clearly Your greatness and my littleness, and therefore I rejoice that You are so powerful and without limit, and so I rejoice greatly at being so little.       (1417)

I strive for the greatest perfection possible in order to be useful to the Church. Greater by far is my bond to the Church. The sanctity or the fall of each individual soul has an effect upon the whole Church. Observing myself and those who are close to me, I have come to understand how great an influence I have on other souls, not by any heroic deeds, as these are striking in themselves, but by small actions like a movement of the hand, a look, and many other things too numerous to mention, which have an effect on and reflect in the souls of others, as I myself have noticed.       (1475)

Quote of the Day You must ask God to give you power to fight against the sin of pride which is your greatest enemy - the root of all that is evil, and the failure of all that is good. For God resists the proud. -St. Vincent de Paul

Today's Tidbit Apostasy is the total and obstinate repudiation of the Christian faith. An apostate automatically incurs a penalty of excommunication.

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.

Nov 25 - CONSECRATION TO THE HEART OF JESUS

The following message was given to Jelena for the parish:

Devote five minutes to the Sacred Heart. Each family is an image of it (Locutionists Jelena & Mirijana July 2, 1983).

And from John's gospel, a prayer of Jesus to the Father:

Righteous Father, the world does not know you, but I know you; and those know that you have sent me. I made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them (Jn 17:25-26).

Reflection:

The love of Christ is symbolized by his heart. To be consecrated to the Sacred Heart is to be consecrated to the Lord's love, pledged and dedicated to it. Our Lord's love, pledged and dedicated to it. Our Lady emphasizes this in her messages. From October, 1988: "I am calling you today to the prayer of consecration to Jesus, my dear Son, so that each of your hearts may be his." And in Nov of 1983: "Place an image of the hearts of Jesus and Mary in your homes." In April, 1984: "I pray that you especially venerate the Heart of my Son." And last, in October of 1983: "May all families consecrate themselves to the Sacred Heart each day."

Application:

Today, let us live these messages of the Blessed Virgin by consecrating ourselves to the Sacred Heart, using the prayer she dictated to Jelena for that purpose:

O Jesus, we know that you are gentle, that you have given your heart for us, crowned with the thorns of our sins. We know well that today you still pray for us so that we will not be lost.

Jesus, remember us if we fall into sin. Through your most Sacred Heart, enable us to love one another, that hatred may disappear from among men. Show us your love, we love you and wish that you protect us with the heart of the Good Shepherd.

Enter into each heart, Lord Jesus! Knock on the door of our hearts with patience and persistence. We are still locked within ourselves for we have not understood your will. O Jesus, continue to knock, that our hearts may open to you, especially when we remember the passion which you suffered for us. Amen.

Message to J.N.S.R.Sept.9,2007

To JESUS and to MARY forever

                                             September 9, 2007

JESUS:  The Eternal King had chosen to come down on the Earth.  From all eternity He lived with the Holy Spirit in the Father, forming only One God even though they were Three.

"Who sees Me sees My Father"

"And the Earth needs to know God".

The Word became Flesh and lived among mankind.  Such was God's Holy Will:  to give to His creatures of the Earth, His Only Son as the first link of the chain, so as to elevate, degree by degree, the children of the Earth in a spiritual evolution, surpassing the First Creation in order to attain, in this 8th Day, this New Earth with the New Heavens promised by Christ Himself.  It was necessary that the First of the line be JESUS Christ, Only Son of the Father, that is, God become Man Himself.  This is Jacob's Ladder being presented to you.

So I took Flesh from the Virgin MARY.  From all eternity, the Hand of God had already fashioned Her like the Image of God made Man, in order to receive the Seed of Life.  The Divine Potter, in His Holy Will, did not use clay as He did with the first couple.  MARY is the very Life of God of this completed Creation.

"You must be born from Above."  I am from Above, the Original Virginal Waters, from far-away Eternity created by God.  That is why MARY did not have to be reborn from Above, in order to enter directly into the Kingdom of God where She is Queen.  Her spirit is Spirit.  Her glorified and divine flesh in Anne's womb, Her mother who, purified by God, received the Spirit to give Life to MARY.

Why doubt when God tells you that your destiny is to live with Him, you are the children of God, destined to live in His Kingdom.

You are little Jesuses and little Marys, and you will be like God when you see Me among you, in this world thirsting for Love.

Your Lord JESUS

Your Creator God †  Amen.

JESUS Christ.

ST. JOHN BOSCO'S DREAM (VISION) OF HELL - Part 3 of 3

ST. JOHN BOSCO'S DREAM (VISION) OF HELL

*The Road to Hell

(Prophetic Dream of St. John Bosco 1868 A.D.)
I was staring in bewilderment about me when a lad dashed out of a gate.
Seemingly unaware of anything else, he emitted a most shrilling scream, like one
who is about to fall into a cauldron of liquid bronze, and plummeted into the
center of the cave. Instantly he too became incandescent and perfectly
motionless, while the echo of his dying wail lingered for an instant more.

Terribly frightened, I stared briefly at him for a while. He seemed to be one of
my Oratory boys. "Isn't he so and so?" I asked my guide.

"Yes," was the answer.

"Why is he so still, so incandescent?"

"You chose to see," he replied. "Be satisfied with that. Just keep looking.
Besides, "Everyone shall be salted with fire." (Mark 9: 48)

As I looked again, another boy came hurtling down into the cave at breakneck
speed. He too was from the Oratory. As he fell, so he remained. He too emitted
one single heart-rending shriek that blended with the last echo of the scream
that came from the youth who had preceded him. Other boys kept hurtling in the
same way in increasing numbers, all screaming the same way and then all becoming
equally motionless and incandescent. I noticed that the first seemed frozen to
the spot, one hand and one foot raised into the air; the second boy seemed bent
almost double to the floor. Others stood or hung in various other positions,
balancing themselves on one foot or hand, sitting or lying on their backs or on
their sides, standing or kneeling, hands clutching their hair. Briefly, the
scene resembled a large statuary group of youngsters cast into ever more painful
postures. Other lads hurtled into that same furnace. Some I knew; others were
strangers to me. I then recalled what is written in the Bible to the effect that
as one falls into Hell, so he shall forever remain. ". . . in what place soever
it shall fall, there shall it be." (Ecclesiastes 11:3)

More frightened than ever, I asked my guide, "When these boys come dashing into
this cave, don't they know where they are going?"

"They surely do. They have been warned a thousand times, but they still choose
to rush into the fire because they do not detest sin and are loath to forsake
it. Furthermore, they despise and reject God's incessant, merciful invitations
to do penance. Thus provoked, Divine Justice harries them, hounds them, and
goads them on so that they cannot halt until they reach this place."

"Oh, how miserable these unfortunate boys must feel in knowing they no longer
have any hope," I exclaimed. "If you really want to know their innermost frenzy
and fury, go a little closer," my guide remarked.

I took a few steps forward and saw that many of those poor wretches were
savagely striking at each other like mad dogs. Others were clawing their own
faces and hands, tearing their own flesh and spitefully throwing it about. Just
then the entire ceiling of the cave became as transparent as crystal and
revealed a patch of Heaven and their radiant companions safe for all eternity.

The poor wretches, fuming and panting with envy, burned with rage because they
had once ridiculed the just. "The wicked shall see, and be angry, he shall gnash
with his teeth, and pine away. . . " (Psalms 111: 10) "Why do hear no sound?" I
asked my guide,

"Go closer!" he advised.

Pressing my ear to the crystal window, I heard screams and sobs, blasphemies and
imprecations against the Saints. It was a tumult of voices and cries, shrill and
confused.

"When they recall the happy lot of their good companions," he replied, "they are
obliged to admit: "We fools esteemed their life madness, and their end without
honour. Behold, how they are numbered among the children of God, and their lot
is among the saints. Therefore we have erred from the way of truth, and the
light of justice hath not shined unto us, and the sun of understanding hath not
risen upon us." (Wisdom 5:4-6) "We wearied ourselves in the way of iniquity and
destruction, and have walked through hard ways, but the way of the Lord we have
not known. What hath pride profited us ? or what advantage hath the boasting of
riches brought us ? All those things are passed away like a shadow." (Wisdom 5:
7-9)

"Here time is no more. Here is only eternity."

While I viewed the condition of many of my boys in utter terror, a thought
suddenly struck me. "How can these boys be damned?" I asked. "Last night they
were still alive at the Oratory!"

"The boys you see here," he answered, "are all dead to God's grace. Were they to
die now or persist in their evil ways, they would be damned. But we are wasting
time. Let us go on."

He led me away and we went down through a corridor into a lower cavern, at whose
entrance I read: "Their worm shall not die, and their fire shall not be
quenched." (Isaias 66: 24) "He will give fire, and worms into their flesh, and
they may burn and may feel forever." (Judith 16: 21)

Here one could see how atrocious was the remorse of those who had been pupils in
our schools. What a torment was their, to remember each unforgiven sin and its
just punishment, the countless, even extraordinary means they had had to mend
their ways, persevere in virtue, and earn paradise, and their lack of response
to the many favors promised and bestowed by the Virgin Mary. What a torture to
think that they couId have been saved so easily, yet now are irredeemably lost,
and to remember the many good resolutions made and never kept. Hell is indeed
paved with good intentions!

In this lower cavern I again saw those Oratory boys who had fallen into the
fiery furnace. Some are listening to me right now; others are former pupils or
even strangers to me. I drew closer to them and noticed that they were all
covered with worms and vermin which gnawed at their vitals, hearts, eyes, hands,
legs, and entire bodies so ferociously as to defy description. Helpless and
motionless, they were a prey to every kind of torment. Hoping I might be able to
speak with them or to hear something from them, I drew even closer but no one
spoke or even looked at me. I then asked my guide why, and he explained that the
damned are totally deprived of freedom. Each must fully endure his own
punishment, with absolutely no reprieve whatever. "And now," he added, "you too
must enter that cavern."

"Oh, no!" I objected in terror. "Before going to Hell, one has to be judged. I
have not been judged yet, and so I will not go to Hell!"

"Listen," he said, "what would you rather do: visit Hell and save your boys, or
stay outside and leave them in agony?"

For a moment I was struck speechless. "Of course I love my boys and wish to save
them all," I replied, "but isn't there some other way out?"

"Yes, there is a way," he went on, "provided you do all you can."

I breathed more easily and instantly said to myself, I don't mind slaving if I
can rescue these beloved sons of mine from such torments.

"Come inside then," my friend went on, "and see how our good, almighty God
lovingly provides a thousand means for guiding your boys to penance and saving
them from everlasting death."

Taking my hand, he led me into the cave. As I stepped in, I found myself
suddenly transported into a magnificent hall whose curtained glass doors
concealed more entrances.

Above one of them I read this inscription: The Sixth Commandment. Pointing to
it, my guide exclaimed, "Transgressions of this commandment caused the eternal
ruin of many boys."

"Didn't they go to confession?"

"They did, but they either omitted or insufficiently confessed the sins against
the beautiful virtue of purity, saying for instance that they had committed such
sins two or three times when it was four or five. Other boys may have fallen
into that sin but once in their childhood, and, through shame, never confessed
it or did so insufficiently. Others were not truly sorry or sincere in their
resolve to avoid it in the future. There were even some who, rather than examine
their conscience, spent their time trying to figure out how best to deceive
their confessor. Anyone dying in this frame of mind chooses to be among the
damned, and so he is doomed for all eternity. Only those who die truly repentant
shall be eternally happy. Now do you want to see why our merciful God brought
you here?" He lifted the curtain and I saw a group of Oratory boys -- all known
to me -- who were there because of this sin. Among them were some whose conduct
seems to be good.

"Now you will surely let me take down their names so that I may warn them
individually," I exclaimed. "Then what do you suggest I tell them?"

"Always preach against immodesty. A generic warning will suffice. Bear in mind
that even if you did admonish them individually, they would promise, but not
always in earnest. For a firm resolution, one needs God's grace which will not
be denied to your boys if they pray. God manifests His power especially by being
merciful and forgiving. On your part, pray and make sacrifices. As for the boys,
let them listen to your admonitions and consult their conscience. It will tell
them what to do."

We spent the next half hour discussing the requisites of a good confession.
Afterward, my guide several times exclaimed in a loud voice, "Avertere!
Avertere!"

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Change life! "

Perplexed, I bowed my head and made as if to withdraw, but he held me back.

"You haven't seen everything yet," he explained.

He turned and lifted another curtain bearing this inscription: "They who would
become rich, fall into temptation, and to the snare of the devil." (1 Timothy 6:
9) (Note: would become rich: wish to become rich, seek riches, set their heart
and affections toward riches.)

"This does not apply to my boys! I countered, "because they are as poor as I am.
We are not rich and do not want to be. We give it no thought."

As the curtain was lifted, however, I saw a group of boys, all known to me. They
were in pain, like those I had seen before. Pointing to them, my guide remarked,
"As you see, the inscription does apply to your boys."

"But how?" I asked.

"Well," he said, "some boys are so attached to material possessions that their
love of God is lessened. Thus they sin against charity, piety, and meekness.
Even the mere desire of riches can corrupt the heart, especially if such a
desire leads to injustice. Your boys are poor, but remember that greed and
idleness are bad counselors. One of your boys committed substantial thefts in
his native town, and though he could make restitution, he gives it not a
thought. There are others who try to break into the pantry or the prefect's or
economer's office; those who rummage in their companions' trunks for food,
money, or possessions; those who steal stationery and books...."

After naming these boys and others as well, he continued, "Some are here for
having stolen clothes, linen, blankets, and coats from the Oratory wardrobe in
order to send them home to their families; others for willful, serious damage;
others, yet, for not having given back what they had borrowed or for having kept
sums of money they were supposed to hand over to the superior. Now that you know
who these boys are," he concluded, "admonish them. Tell them to curb all vain,
harmful desires, to obey God's law and to safeguard their reputation jealously
lest greed lead them to greater excesses and plunge them into sorrow, death, and
damnation."

I couldn't understand why such dreadful punishments should be meted out for
infractions that boys thought so little of, but my guide shook me out of my
thoughts by saying: "Recall what you were told when you saw those spoiled grapes
on the wine." With these words he lifted another curtain which hid many of our
Oratory boys, all of whom I recognized instantly. The inscription on the curtain
read: The root of all evils.

"Do you know what that means?" he asked me immediately.

"What sin does that refer to?"

"Pride?"

"No!"

"And yet I have always heard that pride is the root of all evil."

"It is, generally speaking, but, specifically, do you know what led Adam and Eve
to commit the first sin for which they were driven away from their earthly
paradise?"

"Disobedience?"

"Exactly! Disobedience is the root of all evil."

"What shall I tell my boys about it?"

"Listen carefully: the boys you see here are those who prepare such a tragic end
for themselves by being disobedient. So-and-so and so-and-so, who you think went
to bed, leave the dormitory later in the night to roam about the playground,
and, contrary to orders, they stray into dangerous areas and up scaffolds,
endangering even their lives. Others go to church, but, ignoring
recommendations, they misbehave; instead of praying, they daydream or cause a
disturbance. There are also those who make themselves comfortable so as to doze
off during church services, and those who only make believe they are going to
church. Woe to those who neglect prayer! He who does not pray dooms himself to
perdition. Some are here because, instead of singing hymns or saying the Little
Office of the Blessed Virgin, they read frivolous or -- worse yet -- forbidden
books." He then went on mentioning other serious breaches of discipline.

When he was done, I was deeply moved.

"May I mention all these things to my boys?" I asked, looking at him straight in
the eye.

"Yes, you may tell them whatever you remember."

"What advice shall I give them to safeguard them from such a tragedy?"

"Keep telling them that by obeying God, the Church, their parents, and their
superiors, even in little things, they will be saved."

"Anything else?"

"Warn them against idleness. Because of idleness David fell into sin. Tell them
to keep busy at all times, because the devil will not then have a chance to
tempt them."

I bowed my head and promised. Faint with dismay, I could only mutter, "Thanks
for having been so good to me. Now, please lead me out of here."

"All right, then, come with me." Encouragingly he took my hand and held me up
because I could hardly stand on my feet. Leaving that hall, in no time at all we
retraced our steps through that horrible courtyard and the long corridor. But as
soon as we stepped across the last bronze portal, he turned to me and said, "Now
that you have seen what others suffer, you too must experience a touch of Hell."

"No, no!" I cried in terror.

He insisted, but I kept refusing.

"Do not be afraid," he told me; "just try it. Touch this wall."

I could not muster enough courage and tried to get away, but he held me back.
"Try it," he insisted. Gripping my arm firmly, he pulled me to the wall. "Only
one touch," he cornmanded, "so that you may say you have both seen and touched
the walls of eternal suffering and that you may understand what the last wall
must be like if the first is so unendurable. Look at this wall!" I did intently.
It seemed incredibly thick. "There are a thousand walls between this and the
real fire of Hell," my guide continued. "A thousand walls encompass it, each a
thousand measures thick and equally distant from the next one. Each measure is a
thousand miles. This wall therefore is millions and millions of miles from
Hell's real fire. It is just a remote rim of Hell itself."

When he said this, I instinctively pulled back, but he seized my hand, forced it
open, and pressed it against the first of the thousand walls. The sensation was
so utterly excruciating that I leaped back with a scream and found myself
sitting up in bed. My hand was stinging and I kept rubbing it to ease the pain.
When I got up this morning I noticed that it was swollen. Having my hand pressed
against the wall, though only in a dream, felt so real that, later, the skin of
my palm peeled off.

Bear in mind that I have tried not to frighten you very much, and so I have not
described these things in all their horror as I saw them and as they impressed
me. We know that Our Lord always portrayed Hell in symbols because, had He
described it as it really is, we would not have understood Him. No mortal can
comprehend these things. The Lord knows them and He reveals them to whomever He
wills. [END]

Message From Jesus
November 23, 2007
7:10 a.m.

After having prayed first the Lord's Prayer, Hail Mary, Glory Be and the Prayers
for Protection to St. Michael, the Archangel and the Guardian Angels as well as
the Exorcism Prayer, I went on to ask Jesus if there's anything He would want to
say: Here below is what I heard from the small, still, inner voice:

Son of my Father's will, it is a fact of life that many in this life go through
trials and tribulations of various kinds at various seasons and stages of life.
Many people are too poor, some too rich and having the best the world has to
offer.

But why the seeming unfairness of life? There are many who because of poverty
commit crimes against persons and property and thus transgress the law of God
and men. Why were so many born poor while the lesser number are rich and even a
lesser number very, very rich? That is a very hard subject to dwell on son for
there are no exact and easy to say explanations from the viewpoint of men, but
rest assured that God the Father is very much aware of life's situations of
every human being that when judgment of the soul has to take place in the after
life, the particular difficult or easy life of a person is taken into
consideration.

A poor man will have lived his life with plenty of penance imposed by
circumstances, so therefore God's mercy on his soul for his transgressions is
more apparent and forthcoming provided that at the last moment of life, a
sincere apology for life's mistakes is accomplished. I tell you son of the
Father's yet unfathomable ocean of mercy which the human mind cannot fully
comprehend.

He is just, fair and reasonable in handing out a verdict for souls whether they
suffer much or enjoyed this life on earth to the full.

Good to see your faithfulness and patience in hearing us son.

Go in peace!

JESUS ASKS US TO REMAIN IN REFLECTION (Contemplation)

Today we attended our usual 8:00 A.M. Mass at our parish, Our Lady Of Sorrows
where I made an Act of Contrition in preparation of receiving the Body and Blood
of Christ, and made small offerings to Jesus and Mary.

As always, I prayed for all with special needs and intentions. After receiving
the most precious body and blood of Christ in the Sacrament of Holy Communion, I
knelt in silent commune with Jesus. His presence was felt so intensely that my
eyes filled with tears in awe of His company.

After thanking God for His many blessings, I asked Him to please cover me with
His most precious blood and prayed, Speak Lord, Your servant listens.

Jesus heard my prayer and answered saying; My child Eileen, there is a time to
speak and a time for reflection. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
Continue to pray for your brothers and sisters.

Note: This is a message that Jesus has repeated to me in the past, especially
before my Spiritual Advisor's passing. At that time Jesus told us All that my
children need to hear has been said many, many times. Now is the time to reflect
and commune with God. These words may not be exact as I repeat them now, but
were indeed the true essence of His message.

See what God the Father was thankful for on Thanksgiving

Public

Today, as I entered my prayer room, I saw a great Flame that I know to be the Heart of God the Father. I heard His Voice say, I am the Alpha and the Omega your Creator, the Eternal Now. In Me, there is no beginning or end only now.

Today your country celebrates Thanksgiving, and you have been telling Me what you are thankful for. But I am here to tell you what I give thanks for.

I am thankful for this Pope who supports the Tradition of Faith. I am thankful for the Remnant who cling tenaciously to the Tradition of Faith despite Satan's confusion and promotion of his agenda. I am thankful for this Mission of Holy and Divine Love, and for the spirituality of the United Hearts, which many have accepted despite Satan's lies. I am grateful for the many who continue to add their numbers to the Ministry here, even to the point of uprooting and moving here. I am thankful for the promotion of the Rosary of the Unborn, and for the many lives that are saved because of it. I am grateful for the many rosaries, prayers and devotions offered at this Site.

My thanks comes to earth bound up in Divine Love. I have the eternal desire that Divine Love will be the Flame that consumes the heart of the world.

Message Received
From The Father

St. Francis Church
Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City
Metro Manila

Son, do not bewail the fact that there are times when you have to stand up for
what you believe is right and in accord with your conscience.

I allow situations like that to emerge from time to time for it is also in
those situations that I can summon your inner will to speak in terms that
otherwise you will deliberately avoid saying owing to your inherent nature.

Although many times you feel guilty after each unpleasant encounter, please be
comforted that the contents of the heart is not hidden from me for I know
whether a word used is said out of malice or not or simply to explain a point
out of the goodness of the heart but misunderstood.

Yes, son, arguments should be avoided at all costs but when the moment calls
for making a stand for the truth, for goodness, for the faith, for what is in
accord with my will, then son, I assure you of my backing. You won't have to
struggle for want of words to say for my spirit will bring into your mind what I
want said, but remember son that it is not a blanket guarantee that I will speak
for you but only as far as you are going to speak in accordance with my will.

But I do not condemn you even if you speak out of your own knowledge and
wisdom for as long as you can readily acknowledge any mistake or sin you commit,
then Me your Father is always receptive to a contrite heart and will never deny
an act of reconciling with the I AM.

Be at peace for I am a gentle, meek, loving and merciful God and for those who
shower Me with love and affection, my guarantee of greater love and esteem.

Your Father,

Medjugorje Day By Day Nov 24 - CONSECRATION TO THE IMMACULATE HEART

Come to the foot of the altar.  Here graces will be showered upon all, great and little, who ask for them.  Graces will especially be showered upon those who ask for them." (Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal to St. Catherine Laboure).

"Medjugorje is the continuation and fulfillment of Fatima." Pope John Paul II

Quote from "Medjugorje and the Church" page 19 by Sr Emmanuel and Denis Nolan. The Holy Father said this to Bishop Hnilica

Two Frogs - Be Special To Others

A group of frogs were traveling through the woods when two of them fell into a deep pit. All the other frogs gathered around the pit. When they saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all their might.

The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died.

The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?" The frog communicated to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.

This story teaches two lessons:

1. There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day.

2. A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes to kill them. Be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your path.

The power of words ... it is sometimes hard to understand that an encouraging word can go such a long way. Anyone can speak words that tend to rob another of the spirit to continue in difficult times. Special is the individual who will take the time to encourage another.
Pope John Paul II -

August 1, 1989 address by the Pope to a group of Italian physicians dedicated to defending unborn life and to making scientific and medical studies on the apparition, as reported by Bishop Paul Hnilica, SJ, Auxiliary Bishop of Rome: "Today's world has lost its sense of the supernatural, but many are searching for it - and find it in Medjugorje, through prayer, penance and fasting." http://www.medjugorje.org/pope.htm

Mother Teresa  -

Jesus knows the countless hungers of man, and He gives of Himself.
What a gift!
What proof of His love!
What assurance for us!

Padre Pio -
I hate sin! Our country would be fortunate if, as mother of our rights, it would perfect the laws and customs in the light of honesty and Christian principles.
 Archbishop Fulton Sheen -

If you want freedom, exercise your free will as God wills

"People talk most about their health when they are sick, and most about liberty when they are in danger of losing it. Despite all the pleas for liberty, it must be remembered that every flight from responsibility is a flight from liberty and every denial of personal guilt is also a denial of freedom."
St. Faustina's diary  http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html  -

Bring to me the meek and humble souls and the souls of little children, and immerse them in My mercy. These souls most closely resemble My Heart. They strengthened Me during My bitter agony. I saw them as earthly Angels, who would keep vigil at My altars. I pour out upon them whole torrents of grace. Only the humble soul is able to receive My grace. I favor humble souls with My confidence.      (1220)

O humility, lovely flower, I see how few souls possess you. Is it because you are so beautiful and at the same time so difficult to attain? O yes, it is both the one and the other. Even God takes great pleasure in her. The floodgates of heaven are open to a humble soul, and a sea of graces flows down upon her. O how beautiful is a humble soul! From her heart, as from a censer, rises a varied and most pleasing fragrance which breaks through the skies and reaches God himself, filling His Most Sacred Heart with joy. God refuses nothing to such a soul; she is all-powerful and influences the destiny of the whole world. God raises such a soul up to His very throne, and the more she humbles herself, the more God stoops down to her, pursuing her with His graces and accompanying her at every moment with His omnipotence. Such a soul is most deeply united with God. O humility, strike deep roots in my whole being. O Virgin most pure, but also most humble, help me to attain deep humility. Now I understand why there are so few saints; it is because so few souls are deeply humble.       (1306)

Quote of the Day The Church in Vietnam is alive and vigorous, blessed with strong and faithful bishops, dedicated religious, and courageous and committed lay people... The Church in Vietnam is living out the gospel in a difficult and complex situation with remarkable persistence and strength. -Statement of three U.S. archbishops returning from Vietnam in January 1989

Today's Tidbit The word "Christ" comes from a Greek translation of the Hebrew term "Messiah." This title of Jesus means the "anointed of God."

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY
These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.

NOV 24 - CONSECRATION TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

Given to the young locutionists, Jelena and Mirijana:

I give you my heart. Accept it! I do not wish to distress you, nor to stop talking to you, but know that I cannot stay always with you. You must realize this. In the meantime, I wish to be constantly with you, with the heart. It is necessary to pray a great deal, and not to say, "If we have not prayed today, it is nothing serious" (Locutionists Jelena & Mirijana October 29, 1983).

And from Luke's gospel:

But Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her heart (Lk 2:19).

Reflection:

Our Lady had spoken of her heart and her love for us many times in Medjugorje. "Consecrate yourself to the Immaculate Heart," she said in August of 1983. And in December of the same year: "Tomorrow [Feast of the Immaculate Conception] will be a truly blessed day for you, if every moment is consecrated to my Immaculate Heart." "My heart is full of grace and love. My heart is the gift I give you," she said in June of 1987. There is great peace as well as great power in the consecration, for as we give our hearts and lives to the Blessed Mother, she gives her own life and all that this entails to us.

Application:

Putting Our Lady's words into action, let us now consecrate ourselves to the Immaculate Heart, using the prayer she dictated to Jelena for that purpose:

O Immaculate Heart of Mary, overflowing with goodness, show us your love. May the flame of your heart, O Mary, descend upon all people. We love you so very much. Impress true love in our hearts. May our hearts yearn for you. O Mary, sweet and humble of heart. Remember us even when we sin. You know that we are all sinners. Through your most sacred and motherly heart, heal us of every spiritual illness. Make us capable of realizing the beauty of your maternal heart, and in this way, may we be converted by the flame of your heart. Amen

Prayer to the Trinity

Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity, 21 November 1904

O my God, Trinity Whom I adore, help me to forget myself entirely that I may be
established in You as still and as peaceful as if my soul were already in
eternity. May nothing trouble my peace or make me leave you, O my Unchanging
One; but may each minute carry me further into the depths of Your Mystery. Give
peace to my soul; make it Your Heaven, Your beloved dwelling and Your resting
place. May I never leave You there alone but be wholly present, my faith wholly
vigilant, wholly adoring, and wholly surrendered to Your creative action.

O my beloved Christ, crucified by Love, I wish to be a bride for Your Heart; I
wish to cover You with glory; I wish to love You even unto death! But I feel in
my weakness, and I ask You to clothe me with Yourself, to identify my soul with
all the movements of Your Soul, to overwhelm me, to possess me, to substitute
Yourself for me that my life may be but a radiance of Your Life. Come into me as
Adorer, as Restorer, as Savior.

O Eternal Word, Word of my God, I want to spend my life in listening to You, to
become wholly teachable that I may learn all from You. Then, through all nights,
all voids, all helplessness, I want to gaze on You always and remain in Your
great Light. O my beloved Star, so fascinate me that I may not withdraw from
Your radiance.

O consuming Fire, Spirit of Love, come upon me, and crate in my soul a kind of
Incarnation of the Word; that I may be another humanity for Him in which He can
renew His whole Mystery; and You, O Father, bend lovingly over Your poor little
creature; cover her with Your shadow, seeing in her only the Beloved in whom You
are well pleased.

O my Three, my All, my Beatitude, infinite Solitude, Immensity in which I lose
myself, I surrender myself to You as Your prey. Bury Yourself in me that I may
bury myself in You until I depart to contemplate in Your Light the abyss of Your
greatness.

MESSAGE FROM THE QUEEN AND LADY OF ALL CREATION

OF COURSE WE KNOW ALL ARE CONSIDERED ALLEGED ONES..SO AGAIN PRAY AND DISCERN FOR
YOURSELF VERY CAREFULLY..

MESSAGE FROM THE QUEEN AND LADY OF ALL CREATION
THROUGH JUAN PABLO DELGADO

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2007 12:00 NOON
San Isidro de Grecia, Costa Rica

May God's peace be with each one of you. Dear children, I want to tell you that
My visit today will be extensive due to the need that the world has to know what
the Queen of Heaven wants to tell it today.

My children, this is the hour at which My visits to Fatima took place.

1 I have visited many places, but the name Fatima still has great resonance in
the world today. At that place I, the Imploring Omnipotence, performed one of
the greatest miracles so that all would believe, because it is My wish that all
believe in what I say and can be converted.

I want you to listen to this. It has also been said, even from the lips of
priests, If She speaks a lot, She is not the Blessed Virgin because She is the
Woman of silence. Let us begin then from this point. The silence of virtue is
one thing, and another, very different, is the silence of indifference and
cowardice, right? The silence of virtue is to meditate on the personal
experience of God in God Himself; when one receives the word, to examine it in
depth, to silence the soul and the senses to allow the Holy Spirit to act and
pronounce, through a knowledge of the Word of God and His - let us call it,
sermon - in the person's interior, in order to have a greater appreciation and a
greater knowledge of who God is and to be able to love Him more. The silence of
virtue is also never to gossip or speak an unnecessary word. The silence of
virtue is to imitate Christ in the humility, simplicity and gentleness of His
Heart.

Silence of indifference and cowardice is what the majority of the leaders and
ministers of the Church have at this time, by which, out of convenience,
lukewarmness, fear, or for their own benefit, they overlook the bad behavior of
politicians, ministers, other religious, or important people of the town; and
their lack of prayer creates in them an ignorance of God, a coldness toward God.
Consequently, of course, when one does not love God or His Gospel, he does not
love his brother or the people who he shepherds, and this becomes a silence of
indifference. The world would be good today if there would be a good, adequate,
and holy evangelization, just as Our Lord desires it.

What need would there be of My presence in this place, as in many others? The
Blessed Virgin does not descend from Heaven only because She wants to, or so
that her visionaries can describe Her as beautiful and make hundreds of statues
in Her honor. No. In first place, the best image that you can have of Me is
the imitation of My Virtues within yourselves so that you may convert into My
1 Twelve o'clock noon.
reflection, and in that reflection go and evangelize, in the silence of your
example, wherever you find yourselves.

The world is advancing more and more toward its own destruction. Bishops and
priests must evangelize.
They permit sacrileges and indecent fashions in the House of God that offend
and, over and over, crown with thorns, Jesus Christ, present in the Tabernacle.
Their desire for power and for recognition by the people has led them to the
limit and to the abomination of removing the Most Blessed Sacrament from the
center, in His own Church; and placing a seat in the place reserved for the
Lord, they sit there wishing to be adored. They ought to recall the sublime
Commandment: You shall adore only the Lord your God and render homage only to
Him. The Church should be poor, its ministers chaste and humble, practicing the
holy exercises, prayer and the Rosary. Today they make people believe that
everything is possible through the mind, through one's own efforts, with Our
Lord remaining on the side and at a distance. All the juvenile gangs, indecent
fashions, obscene words, as well as inappropriate behaviors in schools,
colleges, universities, education centers, are due to the terrible
evangelization.

Because they do not pray, ministers do not receive the Holy Spirit, and during
the Eucharistic services, their preaching is empty. It does not satisfy; it
does not enter into the depth of the Spirit. This is why the weekly
participation in the Holy Sacrifice for many, and especially for the youth,
turns into something tedious, boring, and sometimes, without meaning. They no
longer preach Christ Crucified. The Passion of the Lord converts so many souls!
They no longer preach about My Love and My Immaculate Heart, that desires so
deeply to triumph over the world in order to bring peace, harmony, union to
families, and prayer; to extinguish in the world, wars, apostasy, illnesses, and
sin. In one word, My Immaculate Heart wants to triumph over the world so that
all of you, My children, may be happy.

This country, like many others, has just signed its destiny. The enemy of God
and of His Church is already in the world. Many people do not read the Word of
God and much less Revelation, out of fear. If they pray and love My Son, there
is no reason why they should fear. On the contrary, they should read in order
to understand many things and to know what is happening and to be ready. I have
had to come and insist upon the world, due to the lack of prayer and reading of
the Word of God. Because of this, they do not understand many things and are
not informed. They do not believe in much for the same reason: because there is
no one to explain it to them, and the ministers of God who are in charge of the
faith of the people, are the ones who destroy this faith more quickly because
they believe that they are right in everything. They want to limit God and mold
Him in their own way, and cast aside simple and humble souls who, with open
hearts, were willing to believe - perhaps - in a manifestation of the love of
God, such as this one here in San Isidro.

The union of many countries with the dominant power of the world will bring
catastrophe upon them. In Costa Rica, I will protect those who have always
prayed My Rosary, and come with faith and trust to the refuge of My Immaculate
Heart. Just as I have shown you again and again that I will protect you against
the attacks of your enemies spiritual or physical - so will I protect you every
time if you seek My protection with prayer.

During the First World War, when I was begged for peace in the world, and I came
to speak about it at Cova da Iria 2, there, before the shepherds, I announced
the Second World War with these words: The war is going to end soon, and the
soldiers will return to their homes, but if man does not stop offending God, a
worse one will come during the Pontificate of Pius XI. When you see a sign in
the heavens of an unknown light, know that it is the sign that God is sending
you to inform you that He will chastise the world for its crimes, through war.
These words of the Cova da Iria, dear children, today this Saturday
- I repeat to you: Soon, very soon, war will come upon the world. All the
nations that have signed a pact with the United States will be compelled to
fight.

Yes, war will come to you; this time, for an ideal that perhaps seems
unimportant, but is not. It is the subsistence of those who have depleted their
resources for the same reason: for creating weapons to destroy each other. The
largest country in the East, allied with other powers who have always wanted the
power and the destruction of the United States, will begin soon to attack this
nation. When it begins to see itself at a disadvantage, it will compel the
remaining countries of this continent who have signed its pact, to ally
themselves in the destruction. In order to be able to help you and to prevent,
to a large extent, all the destruction this can cause on the world, I, the
Mother of Hope, want people to embrace a profound, complete, loving and
unequalled faith and devotion to My Immaculate Heart. In this way, My mantle,
as an impenetrable shield, will be placed over this country, and over all those
who have always loved Me and have clung to Me. If the devotion which I am
asking for begins here, if you do what I want, I will extend My protection over
many other small countries that are not to blame, and I will pray to God so that
the universal disaster which this Third World War may bring with it will be very
minimal. For this reason, I wish that you make My request known. You
yourselves are witnesses of My presence here, and a testimony of My presence
here is the fact that during eight years, nothing or no one, however much they
have attacked My work here by all possible means, has been able to destroy My
Work; as the dirty deals of politicians, ambassadors, ministers everything that
they do secretly and shady - can collapse, and of which this country and the
world are plagued. They are the ones who steal the goods from you and leave you
in poverty.

2 Apparition of the Blessed Virgin at Fatima, Portugal, in 1917.
Make My wish known. I am the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ,
and I want it so. My only wish is to be able to help you because I do love you
and I am indeed interested in you. How I wish that priests would be humble and
would understand that something is really happening here, something that is
keeping you alive when the world is dead; something that enlivens your faith
when theirs has died; something that has sustained this Work for years in spite
of attacks, even from themselves! It is I, who am here, who have made of this
place a hospitable room of Heaven itself, while awaiting the highest glory.

Oh, My children, every word that I have told you today is true! The world has
forgotten God because there is no one to evangelize it correctly.

War will come; it will certainly come, but if you pray, if you do not abandon
the Rosary, Holy Communion, meditation on the Passion of Christ, and true love,
My Immaculate Heart will certainly triumph.
I am with you and I will not abandon you.

Thank you for having responded to My call.

Peace be with you.

Remember something, My little children, something which is also said on the
outside. The Blessed Virgin does not come to scare you; as a Mother, I come to
warn you.

Praised be Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ, King of the Universe and of Hearts

Gospel Commentary for This Sunday

By Father Raniero Cantalamessa, OFM Cap

ROME, NOV. 23, 2007 (Zenit.org).- The solemnity of Christ the King was
instituted only recently. It was instituted by Pope Pius XI in 1925 in response
to the atheist and totalitarian political regimes that denied the rights of God
and the Church. The climate in which the feast was born was, for example, that
of the Mexican revolution, when many Christians went to their deaths crying out
to their last breath, Long live Christ the King!

But if the feast is recent, its content and its central idea are not; they are
quite ancient and we can say that they were born with Christianity. The phrase
Christ reigns has its equivalent in the profession of
faith: Jesus is Lord, which occupies a central place in
the preaching of the apostles.

Sundays Gospel passage narrates the death of Christ, because it is
at that moment that Christ begins to rule over the world. The cross is
Christs throne. Above him there was an inscription that
read, This is the King of the Jews.' That which in the
intention of his enemies was the justification of his condemnation, was, in the
eyes of the heavenly Father, the proclamation of his universal sovereignty.

To see what this feast has to do with us, we need only recall to our minds a
very simple distinction. There are two universes, two worlds or cosmoses: the
macrocosm, which is the whole universe external to us,
and the microcosm, or the little universe, which is each
individual man. The liturgy itself, in the reform that followed Vatican II, felt
the need to accent the human and spiritual aspect of the feast over the, so to
speak, political aspect of the feast. The prayer of the feast no longer asks, as
it once did, that all the families of nations, now kept apart by the
wound of sin, may be brought under the sweet yoke of [Christ s]
rule but that every creature, freed from the slavery of
sin, serve and praise [Christ] forever.

Let us consider again the inscription placed above Christ: This is
the King of the Jews. The onlookers challenged him to manifest his
royalty openly and many, even among his friends, expected a spectacular
demonstration of his kingship. But he chose only to show his kingship in his
solicitousness for one man, who was, in fact, a criminal:
Jesus, remember me when you come into your
kingdom. He replied to him, Amen, I say to you, today
you will be with me in paradise.'"

From this point of view, the most important question to ask on the feast of
Christ the King is not whether he reigns in the world but whether he reigns in
me; it is not whether his kingship is recognized by states and governments, but
whether it is recognized and lived in me.

Is Christ the King and Lord of my life? Who rules in me, who determines the
goals and establishes priorities: Christ or someone else? According to St. Paul,
there are two ways to live: either for ourselves or for the Lord (Romans
14:7-9). Living for ourselves means living like someone
who takes himself to be the beginning and the end; it is a life closed in on
itself, drawn only by its own satisfaction and glory, without any perspective of
eternity. Living for the Lord, on the contrary, means
living for the Lord, that is, with a view to him, for his glory, for his
kingdom.

What we have here is truly a new existence, in the face of which, death itself
has lost its definitiveness. The greatest contradiction that man has always
experienced -- that between life and death -- has been overcome. The
contradiction is no longer between living and
dying but between living for
ourselves and living for the Lord.

[Translation by ZENIT]

Father Raniero Cantalamessa is the Pontifical Household preacher. The readings
for this Sunday are 2 Samuel 5:1-3; Colossians 1:12-20; Luke 23:35-43.

Amen

Medjugorje Day By Day Nov 23 - I CALL YOU TO OFFER SACRIFICES

"Make a daily Holy Hour in the presence of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament that Christ may reign in the hearts and souls of men." (Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen)
St. Monica, Wife, Mother, North Africa, (332-387), Feast, Aug. 27
Wife of a pagan and mother of three, one a prodigal son. Through her devotion and intercessory prayer to Jesus in the Eucharist, her husband converted shortly before he died. Her wayward son became St. Augustine, due to her faithful perseverance in prayer.

Mother Teresa  -

Love, tenderness, and compassion are real justice.
Justice without love is not justice.
Love without justice is not love.

Meditations by Padre Pio -

Why is there evil in the world? Listen carefully. There is a mother who is embroidering. Her son sitting on a low stool sees her work, but upside down. He sees the knots of the embroidery; the tangled threads, and says: "Mother, what are you doing? Your work is not at all clear?"

Then the mother lowers the embroidery frame and shows the right side of her work. Each color is in its place and the variety of threads form a harmonious design.

So, we are seeing the reverse side of the embroidery. We are sitting on the low stool.

 Archbishop Fulton Sheen -

Promises of materials turns into imprisonment of self

"Communism swept one-third of the world into the grasp of the Iron Bear simple because it promised pie in the sky after hatred had overthrown the existing order. The great fallacy of all revolutionary movements is that the value of great lives is nullified, either through persecution or character assassination, in the interests of fallacious promises and illusory hopes. Our world is slow to learn that those who turn out the lights of Heaven, bay that very act turn out the lights earth. Influences are born of moral stamina but promises, like spider webs, are woven from the bellies of materialism."

St. Faustina's diary  http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html  -

June 30, 1937. Today, the Lord said to me, I have wanted to exalt this Congregation many times, but I am unable to do so because of its pride. Know, My daughter, that I do not grant My graces to proud souls, and I even take away from them the graces I have granted.      (1170)

It so happened that I fell again into a certain error, in spite of a sincere resolution not to do so-even though the lapse was a minor imperfection and rather involuntary-and at this I felt such acute pain in my soul that I interrupted my work and went to the chapel for a while. Falling at the feet of Jesus, with love and a great deal of pain, I apologized to the Lord, all the more ashamed because of the fact that in my conversation with Him after Holy Communion this very morning I had promised to be faithful to Him. Then I heard these words: If it hadn't been for this small imperfection, you wouldn't have come to Me. Know that as often as you come to Me, humbling yourself and asking My forgiveness, I pour out a superabundance of graces on your soul, and your imperfection vanishes before My eyes, and I see only your love and your humility. You lose nothing but gain much...      (1293)

Quote of the Day Charity unites us to God... There is nothing mean in charity, nothing arrogant. Charity knows no schism, does not rebel, does all things in concord. In charity all the elect of God have been made perfect. -Pope St. Clement I

Today's Tidbit The word "Eucharist" comes from Greek roots meaning thanks giving.

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY

Nov 23 - I CALL YOU TO OFFER SACRIFICES

Today Our Lady speaks of one of the core virtues of Christian life:

Dear children, today I thank you again for everything that you have accomplished for me during these past days. I thank you especially, dear children, for the sacrifices you have offered this last week. Dear children, do not forget that I desire sacrifices from you so I can help you and keep Satan at a distance. And so I call you again to offer sacrifices in special reverence toward God (Weekly Message September 18, 1986).

In Hebrews, Paul speaks of the effects of the greatest sacrifice:

But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, "he sat down at the right hand of God," and since then has been waiting "until his enemies would be made a footstool for his feet." For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified (Heb 10:12-14).

Reflection:

In Pompeii the body of a crippled boy was found with his lame foot. Round his body was a woman's arm, bejeweled. The great stream of fire suddenly issuing from the volcano had driven a terror stricken crowd for refuge. The woman had evidently taken pity on the cripple. Only the arm outstretched to save was saved itself.

The arm of the Lord protects his people. He draws us to himself to save all of us. We are never too insignificant for his rescue. A saying goes: "If you were the only person left on earth, Christ would die for you alone." Every soul is priceless in the sight of God.

Each of us belongs to the creator, we are his flesh and blood. His salvation is directed to every one of us. No one is left out. As St. Paul writes: "For as all die in Adam, so all will be made alive in Christ" (1Cor 15:22).

Application:

With the sacrifice of Christ as our great example, let us try to live Our Lady's message today: "And so I call you again to offer your sacrifices in special reverence to God."

ST. JOHN BOSCO'S DREAM (VISION) OF HELL - Part 2 of 3

ST. JOHN BOSCO'S DREAM (VISION) OF HELL

*The Road to Hell

(Prophetic Dream of St. John Bosco 1868 A.D.)

We continued our descent, the road now becoming so frightfully steep that it was
almost impossible to stand erect. And then, at the bottom of this precipice, at
the entrance of a dark valley, an enormous building loomed into sight, its
towering portal, tightly locked, facing our road. When I finally got to the
bottom, I became smothered by a suffocating heat, while a greasy, green-tinted
smoke lit by flashes of scarlet flames rose from behind those enormous walls
which loomed higher than mountains.

"Where are we? What is this?" I asked my guide.

"Read the inscription on that portal and you will know."

I looked up and read these words: "The place of no reprieve." I realized that we
were at the gates of Hell. The guide led me all around this horrible place. At
regular distance bronze portals like the first overlooked precipitous descents;
on each was an inscription, such as: "Depart from me, ye cursed, into
everlasting fire, which was prepared for the devil and his angels." (Matthew 25:
41) "Every tree that yielded not good fruit, shall be cut down, and shall be
cast into the fire." (Matthew 7: 19)

I tried to copy them into my notebook, but my guide restrained me: "There is no
need. You have them all in Holy Scripture. You even have some of them inscribed
in your porticoes."

At such a sight I wanted to turn back and return to the Oratory. As a matter of
fact, I did start back, but my guide ignored my attempt. After trudging through
a steep, never-ending ravine, we again came to the foot of the precipice facing
the first portal. Suddenly the guide turned to me. Upset and startled, he
motioned to me to step aside. "Look!" he said.

I looked up in terror and saw in the distance someone racing down the path at an
uncontrollable speed. I kept my eyes on him, trying to identify him, and as he
got closer, I recognized him as one of my boys. His disheveled hair was partly
standing upright on his head and partly tossed back by the wind. His arms were
outstretched as though he were thrashing the water in an attempt to stay afloat.
He wanted to stop, but could not. Tripping on the protruding stones, he kept
falling even faster. "Let's help him, let's stop him," I shouted, holding out my
hands in a vain effort to restrain him.

"Leave him alone," the guide replied.

"Why?"

"Don't you know how terrible God's vengeance is? Do you think you can restrain
one who is fleeing from His just wrath?"

Meanwhile the youth had turned his fiery gaze backward in an attempt to see if
God's wrath were still pursuing him. The next moment he fell tumbling to the
bottom of the ravine and crashed against the bronze portal as though he could
find no better refuge in his flight.

"Why was he looking backward in terror?" I asked.

"Because God's wrath will pierce Hell's gates to reach and torment him even in
the midst of fire!"

As the boy crashed into the portal, it sprang open with a roar, and instantly a
thousand inner portals opened with a deafening clamor as if struck by a body
that had been propelled by an invisible, most violent, irresistible gale. As
these bronze doors -- one behind the other, though at a considerable distance
from each other -- remained momentarily open, I saw far into the distance
something like furnace jaws sprouting fiery balls the moment the youth hurtled
into it. As swiftly as they had opened, the portals then clanged shut again. For
a third time I tried to jot down the name of that unfortunate lad, but the guide
again restrained me. "Wait," he ordered.

"Watch!"

Three other boys of ours, screaming in terror and with arms outstretched, were
rolling down one behind the other like massive rocks, I recognized them as they
too crashed against the portal. In that split second, it sprang open and so did
the other thousand. The three lads were sucked into that endless corridor amid a
long-drawn, fading, infernal echo, and then the portals clanged shut again. At
intervals, many other lads came tumbling down after them. I saw one unlucky boy
being pushed down the slope by an evil companion. Others fell singly or with
others, arm in arm or side by side. Each of them bore the name of his sin on his
forehead. I kept calling to them as they hurtled down, but they did not hear me.
Again the portals would open thunderously and slam shut with a rumble. Then,
dead silence!

"Bad companions, bad books, and bad habits," my guide exclaimed, "are mainly
responsible for so many eternally lost."

The traps I had seen earlier were indeed dragging the boys to ruin. Seeing so
many going to perdition, I cried out disconsolately, "If so many of our boys end
up this way, we are working in vain. How can we prevent such tragedies?"

"This is their present state," my guide replied, "and that is where they would
go if they were to die now."

"Then let me jot down their names so that I may warn them and put them back on
the path to Heaven."

"Do you really believe that some of them would reform if you were to warn them?
Then and there your warning might impress them, but soon they will forget it,
saying, 'It was just a dream,' and they will do worse than before. Others,
realizing they have been unmasked, receive the sacraments, but this will be
neither spontaneous nor meritorious; others will go to confession because of a
momentary fear of Hell but will still be attached to sin."

"Then is there no way to save these unfortunate lads? Please, tell me what I can
do for them."

"They have superiors; let them obey them. They have rules; let them observe
them. They have the sacraments; let them receive them."

Just then a new group of boys came hurtling down and the portals momentarily
opened. "Let's go in," the guide said to me.

I pulled back in horror. I could not wait to rush back to the Oratory to warn
the boys lest others might be lost as well.

"Come," my guide insisted. "You'll learn much. But first tell me: Do you wish to
go alone or with me?" He asked this to make me realize that I was not brave
enough and therefore needed his friendly assistance.

"Alone inside that horrible place?" I replied. "How will I ever be able to find
my way out without your help?" Then a thought came to my mind and aroused my
courage. Before one is condemned to Hell, I said to myself, he must be judged.
And I haven't been judged yet!

"Let's go," I exclaimed resolutely. We entered that narrow, horrible corridor
and whizzed through it with lightning speed. Threatening inscriptions shone
eerily over all the inner gateways. The last one opened into a vast, grim
courtyard with a large, unbelievably forbidding entrance at the far end. Above
it stood this inscription:

"These shall go into everlasting punishment." (Matthew 25: 46) The walls all
about were similarly inscribed. I asked my guide if I could read them, and he
consented. These were the inscriptions:

"He will give fire, and worms into their flesh, and they may burn and may feel
forever." (Judith 16: 21)

"The pool of fire where both the beast and the false prophet shall be tormented
day and night forever and ever." (Apocalypse 20: 9-10)

"And the smoke of their torments shall ascend up forever and ever." (Apocalypse
14: 11)

"A land of misery and darkness, where the shadow of death, and no order, but
everlasting horror dwelleth." (Job 10: 22)

"There is no peace to the wicked." (Isaias 47: 22)

"There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." (Matthew 8:12)

While I moved from one inscription to another, my guide, who had stood in the
center of the courtyard, came up to me.

"From here on," he said, "no one may have a helpful companion, a comforting
friend, a loving heart, a compassionate glance, or a benevolent word. All this
is gone forever. Do you just want to see or would you rather experience these
things yourself?"

"I only want to see!" I answered.

"Then come with me," my friend added, and, taking me in tow, he stepped through
that gate into a corridor at whose far end stood an observation platform, closed
by a huge, single crystal pane reaching from the pavement to the ceiling. As
soon as I crossed its threshold, I felt an indescribable terror and dared not
take another step. Ahead of me I could see something like an immense cave which
gradually disappeared into recesses sunk far into the bowels of the mountains.
They were all ablaze, but theirs was not an earthly fire with leaping tongues of
flames. The entire cave --walls, ceiling, floor, iron, stones, wood, and coal --
everything was a glowing white at temperatures of thousands of degrees. Yet the
fire did not incinerate, did not consume. I simply can't find words to describe
the cavern's horror. "The nourishment thereof is fire and much wood: the breath
of the Lord as a torrent of brimstone kindling it." (Isaias 30: 33)

Message to Louise Nov. 20,2007

HYPERCRITICAL!
Message via L., V+J
November 20, 2007- - -12:50 P.M.

L. began to receive a message from God and said, "Jesus, please cover me with
Your Most Precious Blood."
Then your God and Father spoke, " The holiday season, as you call it, is upon
you. It begins this Thursday with Thanksgiving.

The majority of you will celebrate by over eating, over drinking, watching
parades and football. So very few of My people will begin the day with Holy
Mass. Even fewer will say a prayer of gratitude before eating.

It is no longer a day of thanks to God, your Father, for all the gifts I
have showered on you. Instead, it is a day of gluttony and sports. I AM NOT
remembered!

If you do not sincerely thank Me I WILL take all blessings from you. Only
then will you realize what abundance you HAD.

This holiday season, this holy season, will never be forgotten! Much will
begin. Much willl occur. As you do unto Me so I will do unto you. I give you
My word on it!

Over eating and over drinking IS GLUTTONY and GLUTTONY IS A SIN!!! You will
shop and go into debt but what will you give to Me, your God and what will you
bring to the Manger to give to your Baby Savior, Jesus- - - My ONLY Son?
Ignore Us and We will leave you alone, not to know who you are.

Begin Thursday, Thanksgiving to give thanks to your Triune God for all you
have and continue each day of your life OR I will soon withdraw My Hour of
Mercy- - -gifts will be NO MORE!

This IS THE HOUR to return to Me! Amen, I HAVE spoken!!!"

Note:mk
Remember everything is always conditional depending upon our prayers. God
sometimes changes His mind because of our prayers for our situations. Remember
gratitude is the key to His Heart. We must praise even when we are suffering!

Two elderly, excited Southern women were sitting together in the front pew of church listening to a fiery preacher.

When this preacher condemned the sin of stealing, these two ladies cried out at the tops of their lungs, "AMEN, BROTHER!"

When the preacher condemned the sin of lust, they yelled again, "PREACH IT, REVEREND!"

And when the preacher condemned the sin of lying, they jumped to their feet and screamed, "RIGHT ON, BROTHER! TELL IT LIKE IT IS... AMEN!"

But when the preacher condemned the sin of gossip, the two got very quiet.

One turned to the other and said, "He's quit preaching and now he's meddlin'."

Pope John Paul II -

Mons. Maurillo Kreiger, former bishop of Florianopolis (Brazil), visited Medjugorje four times. His first visit was in 1986. He writes as follows:
In 1988, I was with eight other bishops and thirty three priests on spiritual retreat in the Vatican. The Holy Father knew that many of us were going to Medjugorje afterwards. After a private mass with the Pope, before leaving Rome, he said, without having been asked anything, "Pray for me in Medjugorje". On another occasion, I told the Pope "I am going to Medjugorje for the fourth time". He concentrated his thoughts and said, "Medjugorje, Medjugorje, it's the spiritual heart of the world". On the same day I spoke with other Brazilian bishops and the Pope at lunch time and I asked him: Your holiness, can I tell the visionaries that you send your blessing?" He answered: "Yes yes", and embraced me.

Place all your worries in God alone, because He has the greatest care of you, and those three angelic children with whom he has blessed you. By their conduct, these children will be a consolation to you during your lifetime. Take care, not so much of their scientific as of their moral education. And you should take this very seriously, and guard it as the pupil of your eye. As you educate their mind with good studies, assure the education of their hearts, along with that of our holy religion; one without the other causes a mortal wound to the human heart.

"The unfortunate characteristics of our day is that propaganda has taken the place of personal influence. Politics has become so primary in modern life, that the masses are more moved by promises than by fulfillments."

-Today, as God's Majesty swept over me, my soul understood that the Lord, so very great though He is, delights in humble souls. The more a soul humbles itself, the greater the kindness with which the Lord approaches it. Uniting himself closely with it, He raises it to His very throne. Happy is the soul whom the Lord himself defends. I have come to know that only love is of any value; love is greatness; nothing, no works, can compare with a single act of pure love of God.       (1092)

Nov 22 - CONTINUE TO GROW

The following was given to the young Locutionists for their prayer group:

Each member of the group is like a flower; and if someone tries to crush you, you will grow and continue to grow even more. If someone puts you down even a little, you will recover. And if someone pulls a petal, you will continue to grow as though you were complete (Locutionists Jelena & Mirijana June 21, 1984).

And from Paul's letter to the Galatians:

So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up (Gal 6:9).

Reflection:

Sometimes we are lamps without light, extinguished, but with possibilities not realized. Well, I have come to light a flame in your hearts, should the disappointments you have suffered, the expectations that have not come true, have put it out. I want to say to each of you that you have capacities, often unsuspected, sometimes made even greater and more vigorous by hard experience.

These words of hope form Pope John Paul II speak of a great truth that hope , far from being some vague, ethereal virtue, is instead a product of practical, learned experience.

Experience is not just the best teacher; it is the only teacher. As we look back at our trials and hardships, we realize that, rather than being tragic and destructive, our difficulties have given us endurance, resilience, and patience. This is the direct outcome of going through trials. This is where hope comes from. This is where God sheds his love right where we always need him the most. It is why we have "unsuspected capacities," as the Holy Father says, why we have hope.

Application:

Today the Mother of God gives us a message of profound hope: in times of trial or suffering, we will not be crushed, but will recover even stronger "and continue to grow more and more." Today, give over to her any present difficulties, trusting in her help.

. JOHN BOSCO'S DREAM (VISION) OF HELL - Part 1 of 3

The Holy Saint John Bosco had a Prophetic Vision of Hell in 1868 A.D. (*which is
recorded in its entirety below)

Many of the dreams of St. John Bosco could more properly be called visions, for
God used this means to reveal His will for the Saint and for the boys of the
Oratory, as well as the future of the Salesian Congregation. Not only did his
dreams lead and direct the Saint, they also gave him wisdom and guidance by
which he was able to help and guide others upon their ways. He was just nine
years of age when he had his first dream that laid out his life mission. It was
this dream that impressed Pope Pius IX so much that he ordered St. John Bosco to
write down his dreams for the encouragement of his Congregation and the rest of
us. Through dreams God allowed him to know the future of each of the boys of his
Oratory. Through dreams God let him know the boys' state of their souls. On
February 1, 1865 St. John Bosco announced that one of the boys will die soon. He
knew the boy through the dream the night before. On March 16, 1865, Anthony
Ferraris passed away after receiving the Last Sacraments. John Bisio, who helped
Anthony and his mother during the former's last hour, confirmed the story of his
part in this episode by a formal oath, concluding as follows: "Don Bosco told us
many other dreams concerning Oratory boys' deaths. We believed them to be true
prophecies. We still do, because unfailingly they came true. During the seven
years I lived at the Oratory, not a boy died without Don Bosco predicting his
death. We were also convinced that whoever died there under his care and
assistance surely went to heaven."

*The Road to Hell

(Prophetic Dream of St. John Bosco 1868 A.D.)
On Sunday night, May 3 [1868], the feast of Saint Joseph's patronage, Don Bosco
resumed the narration of his dreams:

I have another dream to tell you, a sort of aftermath of those I told you last
Thursday and Friday which totally exhausted me. Call them dreams or whatever you
like. Always, as you know, on the night of April 17 a frightful toad seemed bent
on devouring me. When it finally vanished, a voice said to me: "Why don't you
tell them?" I turned in that direction and saw a distinguished person standing
by my bed. Feeling guilty about my silence, I asked: "What should I tell my
boys?"

"What you have seen and heard in your last dreams and what you have wanted to
know and shall have revealed to you tomorrow night!" He then vanished.

I spent the whole next day worrying about the miserable night in store for me,
and when evening came, loath to go to bed, I sat at my desk browsing through
books until midnight. The mere thought of having more nightmares thoroughly
scare me. However, with great effort, I finally went to bed.

"Get up and follow me!" he said.

"For Heaven's sake," I protested, "leave me alone. I am exhausted! I've been
tormented by a toothache for several days now and need rest. Besides, nightmares
have completely worn me out." I said this because this man's apparition always
means trouble, fatigue, and terror for me.

"Get up," he repeated. "You have no time to lose."

I complied and followed him. "Where are you taking me?" I asked.

"Never mind. You'll see." He led me to a vast, boundless plain, veritably a
lifeless desert, with not a soul in sight or a tree or brook. Yellowed, dried-up
vegetation added to the desolation I had no idea where I was or what was I to
do. For a moment I even lost sight of my guide and feared that I was lost,
utterly alone. Father Rua, Father Francesia, nowhere to be seen. When I finally
saw my friend coming toward me, I sighed in relief.

"Where am I?" I asked.

"Come with me and you will find out!"

"All right. I'll go with you."

He led the way and I followed in silence, but after a long, dismal trudge, I
began worrying whether I would ever be able to cross that vast expanse, what
with my toothache and swollen legs. Suddenly I saw a road ahead.

"Where to now?" I asked my guide.

"This way," he replied.

We took the road. It was beautiful, wide, and neatly paved. "The way of sinners
is made plain with stones, and in their end is hell, and darkness, and pains. "
(Ecclesiasticus 21: 11, stones: broad and easy.) Both sides were lined with
magnificent verdant hedges dotted with gorgeous flowers. Roses, especially,
peeped everywhere through the leaves. At first glance, the road was level and
comfortable, and so I ventured upon it without the least suspicion, but soon I
noticed that it insensibly kept sloping downward. Though it did not look steep
at all, I found myself moving so swiftly that I felt I was effortlessly gliding
through the air. Really, I was gliding and hardly using my feet. Then the
thought struck me that the return trip would be very long and arduous.

"How shall we get back to the Oratory?" I asked worriedly.

"Do not worry," he answered. "The Almighty wants you to go. He who leads you on
will also know how to lead you back."

The road is sloping downward. As we were continuing on our way, flanked by banks
of roses and other flowers, I became aware that the Oratory boys and very many
others whom I did not know were following me. Somehow I found myself in their
midst. As I was looking at them, I noticed now one, now another fall to the
ground and instantly be dragged by an unseen force toward a frightful drop,
distantly visible, which sloped into a furnace. "What makes these boys fall?" I
asked my companion. "The proud have hidden a net for me. And they have stretched
out cords for a snare: they have laid for me a stumbling-block by the wayside."
(Psalms 139: 6)

"Take a closer look," he replied.

I did. Traps were everywhere, some close to the ground, others at eye level, but
all well concealed. Unaware of their danger, many boys got caught, and they
tripped, they would sprawl to the ground, legs in the air. Then, when they
managed to get back on their feet, they would run headlong down the road toward
the abyss. Some got trapped by the head, others by the neck, hand, arms, legs,
or sides, and were pulled down instantly. The ground traps, fine as spiders'
webs and hardly visible, seemed very flimsy and harmless; yet, to my surprise,
every boy they snared fell to the ground.

Noticing my astonishment, the guide remarked, "Do you know what this is?"

"Just some filmy fiber," I answered.

"A mere nothing," he said, "just plain human respect.",

Seeing that many boys were being caught in those straps. I asked, "Why do so
many get caught? Who pulls them down?"

"Go nearer and you will see!" he told me.

I followed his advice but saw nothing peculiar.

"Look closer," he insisted.

I picked up one of the traps and tugged. I immediately felt some resistance. I
pulled harder, only to feel that, instead of drawing the thread closer, I was
being pulled down myself. I did not resist and soon found myself at the mouth of
a frightful cave. I halted, unwilling to venture into that deep cavern, and
again started pulling the thread toward me. It gave a little, but only through
great effort on my part. I kept tugging, and after a long while a huge, hideous
monster emerged, clutching a rope to which all those traps were tied together.
He was the one who instantly dragged down anyone who got caught in them. It
won't do to match my strength with his, I said to myself. I'll certainly lose.
I'd better fight him with the Sign of the Cross and with short invocations.

Then I went back to my guide. "Now you know who he is," he said to me.

"I surely do! It is the devil himself!"

Carefully examining many of the traps, I saw that each bore an inscription:
Pride, Disobedience, Envy, Sixth Commandment, Theft, Gluttony, Sloth, Anger and
so on. Stepping back a bit to see which ones trapped the greater number of boys,
I discovered that the most dangerous were those of impurity, disobedience, and
pride. In fact, these three were linked to together. Many other traps also did
great harm, but not as much as the first two. Still watching, I noticed many
boys running faster than others. "Why such haste?" I asked.

"Because they are dragged by the snare of human respect."

Looking even more closely, I spotted knives among the traps. A providential hand
had put them there for cutting oneself free. The bigger ones, symbolizing
meditation, were for use against the trap of pride; others, not quite as big,
symbolized spiritual reading well made. There were also two swords representing
devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, especially through frequent Holy Communion,
and to the Blessed Virgin. There was also a hammer symbolizing confession, and
other knives signifying devotion to Saint Joseph, to Saint Aloysius, and to
other Saints. By these means quite a few boys were able to free themselves or
evade capture.

Indeed I saw some lads walking safely through all those traps, either by good
timing before the trap sprung on them or by making it slip off them if they got
caught.

When my guide was satisfied that I had observed everything, he made me continue
along that rose-hedged road, but the farther we went the scarcer the roses
became. Long thorns began to show up, and soon the roses were no more. The
hedges became sun-scorched, leafless, and thorn-studded. Withered branches torn
from the bushes lay criss-crossed along the roadbed, littering it with thorns
and making it impassable. We had come now to a gulch whose steep sides hid what
lay beyond. The road, still sloping downward, was becoming ever more horrid,
rutted, guttered, and bristling with rocks and boulders. I lost track of all my
boys, most of whom had left this treacherous road for other paths.

I kept going, but the farther I advanced, the more arduous and steep became the
descent, so that I tumbled and fell several times, lying prostrate until I could
catch my breath. Now and then my guide supported me or helped me to rise. At
every step my joints seemed to give way, and I thought my shinbones would snap.
Panting, I said to my guide, "My good fellow, my legs won't carry me another
step. I just can't go any farther." He did not answer but continued walking.
Taking heart, I followed until, seeing me soaked in perspiration and thoroughly
exhausted, he led me to a little clearing alongside the road. I sat down, took a
deep breath, and felt a little better. From my resting place, the road I had
already traveled looked very steep, jagged, and strewn with loose stones, but
what lay ahead seemed so much worse that I closed my eyes in horror.

"Let's go back," I pleaded. "If we go any farther, how shall we ever get back to
the Oratory? I will never make it up this slope."

"Now that we have come so far, do you want me to leave you here?" my guide
sternly asked.

At this threat, I wailed, "How can I survive without your help?"

"Then follow me."

Medjugorje Day By Day Nov 21 - THE PRESENTATION OF MARY

As a small child, Mary was presented to the Lord in the temple by her parents, Sts. Anne and Joachim. Pray "that from this Year of the Eucharist, they [priests] may draw the fruit of a renewed Love for the Sacrament they celebrate.
Through the intercession of the Virgin Mother of God, may they always live and bear witness to the mystery that is put in their hands for the saving of the world" (Pope Benedict XVI, Sept. 18, 2005).

"When I am before the Tabernacle, I can say only one thing to Our Lord: 'My God, you know that I love you.'  And I feel my prayer does not tire Jesus; knowing the helplessness of His poor little spouse, He is content with her good will" (St. Therese, The Little Flower).

Judgement Day

A preacher of the old school was describing the events of Judgment Day and, of course, he used Biblical phraseology whenever he could.

"Oh, my friends," he intoned, "imagine the suffering of the sinners as they find themselves cast into the outer darkness, removed from the presence of the Lord and given to eternal flames. My friends, at such a time there will be weeping, wailing and a great gnashing of teeth!"

At this point, one of the elders of the congregation interrupted to say, "But Reverend, what if one of those hopeless sinners has no teeth?"

The preacher crashed his fist on the pulpit, "My friends, the Lord is not put out by details. Rest assured: teeth will be provided!"

Pope John Paul II -

The Archbishop Kwangju said to the Pope: "In Korea, in the town of Nadju, Our Lady cries..." The Pope answered "There are bishops, like in Yugoslavia for example who are against this...., but it's important to look at the great number of people who are answering invitations, the amount of conversions. .. All this is underlined in the Gospel , all these facts have to be seriously investigated. " (L`Homme Nouveau, 3. February 1991.) http://www.medjugor je.org/pope. htm

Mother Teresa -

We should realize that poverty doesn't only consist in being hungry for bread, but rather it is a tremendous hunger for human dignity.
We need to love and to be somebody for someone else.

Meditations by Padre Pio -

Take comfort then, my dear lady, take comfort, because the sustaining arm of the Lord has not been shortened. Oh yes, He is the Father of all, but He is more so for the unhappy and even more so for you who are a widow, and a widowed mother.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
We must learn from the Humblest of Servants

"Unconscious influence is never superior. As Our Divine Lord said: `I am among you as One Who serves' (Luke 22: 27). From that basic humility came the advice to His disciples, that one who would be greatest among them should be the least of all (Matthew 23: 11). At the same time, He was never so royal as when He committed

Today, Jesus is bidding me to comfort and reassure a certain soul who has opened herself to me and told me about her difficulties. This soul is pleasing to the Lord, but she is not aware of it. God is keeping her in deep humility. I have carried out the Lord's directives.       (1063)

That beautiful soul who is spreading this work of divine mercy throughout the world is, by his deep humility, very pleasing to God.       (1083)

Quote of the Day When an evil thought is presented to the mind, we must endeavor to turn our thoughts to God, or to something which is indifferent. Bur the best rule is, to invoke the names of Jesus and Mary, and to continue to invoke them until the temptation ceases. -St. Alphonsus Liguori

Today's Tidbit Apocryphal texts are books that at one time were mistakenly held to be inspired by God. Apocryphal texts are not included in the canon of Scripture.

Nov 21 - THE PRESENTATION OF MARY

On this day when Mary was presented, or consecrated, to God at the Temple in Jerusalem, she calls each of us to a consecration as well:

Dear children, today I am happy because many of you want to consecrate yourselves to me. Thank you. You are not mistaken, my Son, Jesus Christ wishes, through my intercession, to bestow very special graces on you. He rejoices in your consecration to him (Weekly Message May 17, 1984).

When we are consecrated to God and Our Lady, we are given a mission as well.

From Isaiah:

The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the Lord has anointed me:

He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn. Isaiah 61 :1-2

Reflection:

Our Lady once recommended to the visionaries that they read an account of her life entitled The Poem of the Man-God by the mystical writer Maria Valtorta (1897-1961). In chapter 8 of this work, Valtorta describes her vision of Mary's presentation at the age of three.

As background: Having been childless, Joachim and Ann had vowed that if they were blessed with a child, they would consecrate her to God at childhood, when she would then reside at the Temple with other consecrated souls, to pray and glorify the Lord in a cloistered setting, until she reached maturity.

In this scene from the book, the child Mary and her parents are at the entrance of the Temple, where the high priest has come to receive her:

The high priest looks at the little girl and smiles. Then, he beckons to Mary. And she departs from her mother and father, and as if fascinated, climbs the steps. And she smiles. She smiles in the shade of the Temple, where the precious veil is hanging. She is now at the top of the steps, at the feet of the high priest, who imposes his hand on her head. The victim has been accepted. Which purer victim had the Temple ever received?

Then he turns around and holding his hand on her shoulder as if he were leading the immaculate little lamb to the altar, he takes her to the Temple door.

Before letting her in, he asks her: "Mary of David, are you aware of your vow?"

When she replies "Yes" in her silvery voice, he cries out: "Go in, then. Walk in my presence and be perfect."

Application:

"Today I am very happy," Our Lady says, "because there are many who want to consecrate themselves to me. Thank you." Today, in the spirit of the Presentation, consecrate yourself again to the Blessed Mother, using either your own words or the prayer found for November 24.

I asked a priest about apparitions.
"Do we have to listen to them." He said "no."
Then I asked, "are there consequences to not listening." He said "no."
Then I said "what about the secrets of Fatima."

I want to remind My children how important it is to wear their BROWN SCAPULAR.

By wearing it you proclaim that you belong to Me.  That you have entered into My IMMACULATE HEART and now I can protect you and see to your salvation.

As a LOVING MOTHER I wish that all My children would wear it, however it is their free-will choice.

Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Memorial

Reading 1  From 2 Micah 7, verses 1, and 20 through 31

It happened that seven brothers with their mother were arrested
and tortured with whips and scourges by the king,
to force them to eat pork in violation of God’s law.

Most admirable and worthy of everlasting remembrance was the mother,
who saw her seven sons perish in a single day,
yet bore it courageously because of her hope in the Lord.
Filled with a noble spirit that stirred her womanly heart with manly courage,
she exhorted each of them
in the language of their ancestors with these words:
“I do not know how you came into existence in my womb;
it was not I who gave you the breath of life,
nor was it I who set in order
the elements of which each of you is composed.
Therefore, since it is the Creator of the universe
who shapes each man’s beginning,
as he brings about the origin of everything,
he, in his mercy,
will give you back both breath and life,
because you now disregard yourselves for the sake of his law.”

Antiochus, suspecting insult in her words,
thought he was being ridiculed.
As the youngest brother was still alive, the king appealed to him,
not with mere words, but with promises on oath,
to make him rich and happy if he would abandon his ancestral customs:
he would make him his Friend
and entrust him with high office.
When the youth paid no attention to him at all,
the king appealed to the mother,
urging her to advise her boy to save his life.
After he had urged her for a long time,
she went through the motions of persuading her son.
In derision of the cruel tyrant,
she leaned over close to her son and said in their native language:
“Son, have pity on me, who carried you in my womb for nine months,
nursed you for three years, brought you up,
educated and supported you to your present age.
I beg you, child, to look at the heavens and the earth
and see all that is in them;
then you will know that God did not make them out of existing things;
and in the same way the human race came into existence.
Do not be afraid of this executioner,
but be worthy of your brothers and accept death,
so that in the time of mercy I may receive you again with them.”

She had scarcely finished speaking when the youth said:
“What are you waiting for?
I will not obey the king’s command.
I obey the command of the law given to our fathers through Moses.
But you, who have contrived every kind of affliction for the Hebrews,
will not escape the hands of God.”

Responsorial Psalm
Ps 17:1bcd, 5-6, 8b and 15

R. (15b) Lord, when your glory appears, my joy will be full.
Hear, O LORD, a just suit;
attend to my outcry;
hearken to my prayer from lips without deceit.
R. Lord, when your glory appears, my joy will be full.
My steps have been steadfast in your paths,
my feet have not faltered.
I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God;
incline your ear to me; hear my word.
R. Lord, when your glory appears, my joy will be full.
Keep me as the apple of your eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings.
But I in justice shall behold your face;
on waking, I shall be content in your presence.
R. Lord, when your glory appears, my joy will be full.

Gospel

Luke 19: Verses 11 through 28

While people were listening to Jesus speak,
he proceeded to tell a parable because he was near
Jerusalem
and they thought that the
Kingdom of God
would appear there immediately.

So he said,
“A nobleman went off to a distant country
to obtain the kingship for himself and then to return.
He called ten of his servants and gave them ten gold coins
and told them, ‘Engage in trade with these until I return.’
His fellow citizens, however, despised him
and sent a delegation after him to announce,
‘We do not want this man to be our king.’
But when he returned after obtaining the kingship,
he had the servants called, to whom he had given the money,
to learn what they had gained by trading.
The first came forward and said,
‘Sir, your gold coin has earned ten additional ones.’
He replied, ‘Well done, good servant!
You have been faithful in this very small matter;
take charge of ten cities.’
Then the second came and reported,
‘Your gold coin, sir, has earned five more.’
And to this servant too he said,
‘You, take charge of five cities.’
Then the other servant came and said,
‘Sir, here is your gold coin;
I kept it stored away in a handkerchief,
for I was afraid of you, because you are a demanding man;
you take up what you did not lay down
and you harvest what you did not plant.’
He said to him,
‘With your own words I shall condemn you,
you wicked servant.
You knew I was a demanding man,
taking up what I did not lay down
and harvesting what I did not plant;
why did you not put my money in a bank?
Then on my return I would have collected it with interest.’
And to those standing by he said,
‘Take the gold coin from him
and give it to the servant who has ten.’
But they said to him,
‘Sir, he has ten gold coins.’
He replied, ‘I tell you,
to everyone who has, more will be given,
but from the one who has not,
even what he has will be taken away.
Now as for those enemies of mine who did not want me as their king,
bring them here and slay them before me.’”

After he had said this,
he proceeded on his journey up to
Jerusalem.

Past Message to Louise April 17, 2004

Message to L., V+J
April 17, 2004---9:55 A.M.
Louise began to receive a message from Our God and said, "Jesus, please cover me with Your Most Precious Blood."

Then Our God spoke, "Dear children, I tell you to discern, to test every word, every spirit. Not every word you hear comes from Me. Also, there are three spirits: My Spirit, yours and the spirit of evil.

Allow only My word, My Spirit to guide you. Remember, the word of God is true. Satan lures you with sweet, deceptive lies. His talk, his words will always lead you astray.

When My Spirit speaks all will be confirmed through Scripture, your local or worldwide news or by another messenger of Mine. My Spirit speaks only truth and My Spirit brings peace.

By listening to My Spirit you will be prepared, at any moment, for anything including death. You will have strength beyond measure. My Spirit is hope for I am with you always. My Spirit was sent to you to remain with you always.

The evil spirit, on the other hand, brings confusion, doubt and fear. This spirit is the spirit of lies, of deception, of confusion. Avoid it at any cost.

So, dear children, you must discern. You must test every spirit, every word. Remember, you will know them by their fruits!"

To Those Who Do Not Know Jesus

Heaven Speaks to those who do not Know Jesus
By "Anne," a Lay Apostle

December 21, 2006

Jesus

I am Jesus. I am God. I am complete in Myself. I am present in your world and I am present in heaven. You see, I am omnipresent. Even if you wish to, you cannot remove yourself from My presence on earth. I created earth. You might say the earth belongs to Me. All in it, are also My creation. You, dear beloved one, were created by Me. Do I say that you belong to Me? I say it in another way. I say, I want you to belong to Me. I want to possess your heart.

Why do I use the word heart when truly it is your soul that I seek? I use the word heart because people characterize the heart as the place where people hold the love they possess. If you have love, people say you have it in your heart. The heart is known as the source of love and the receptacle of love, so I, Jesus, tell you that I want to possess your heart.

When it is all simplified, as it should be, I am saying that I want you to love Me. I love you. There is no problem there. I love you today and I will always love you. A difficulty We have is that you do not know Me. The only way for Me to teach you to love Me is for Me to reveal Myself to you, to allow you to know Me.

For that reason I come to you today. I reveal Myself to you through these words and through the graces attached to them. If you read these words and sit in silence, you will begin to know Me. If you begin to know Me, truly, you will begin to love Me. Forget anything that tempts you to move away from these words and graces. Rest. Be with Me. Allow Me to teach you about Myself.

Jesus

In your world today, there are many claims of goodness. Some of these claims are true. Some of these claims are false. I, Jesus, am not present in lies. I do not rest in falseness. Truth has a pure feel to it and truth does not change. If you want to find truth, look back over time and see what claims of truth have persevered. What are the things that were true two thousand years ago? You will find them if you look to see what has persevered through the ages.

Two thousand years ago, it was true that I came to bring salvation. Today, that is still true. I came then and I come today. I come for your salvation. I come so that you will be saved. I come so that where there is falseness, where you are being deceived, I will be present with My truth.

Two thousand years ago, there was evil in the world. Today, evil persists alongside good. Does this mean evil is good? Has truth changed? No. Just as truth never changes, so evil does not change. Evil simply changes its disguise. I, God, have not changed My character.

When you first know someone, you know a few things about them. As you get to know someone better, you learn more. Over time and with consistent interaction, you begin to know someone well and you can then say that you understand that person.

I want you to understand Me. I am truth. To know Me, Jesus, you will have to know what is true and what is false. I will teach you this but it is not something that I can teach you all at once. Truth, in its great depth, must be absorbed gradually. For this reason I invite you to keep company with Me.

If you do, I will teach you all you need to know to distinguish between the truth in your world and the deceit in your world. I will teach you to separate good from evil at a glance. I am the great Teacher, the Divine Teacher. With Me comes the light necessary for instant instruction on any given topic. You may say, "Give it to me all at once, God. If you are who you say, you can do that."

You are correct. I could do that, such is My power. But you, My friend, are not disposed to accept such an experience because My truth is all about love. Your little heart must be expanded first. We have to make room for all of this truth, which is filled with love. I want you to embark with Me on a journey. Walk with Me. Allow Me to draw you into your soul, into the mystical nature of yourself. Come to Me there so I can introduce you to the great truths about your family, the family of God.

You will find such acceptance there. When you rest in My gaze in your soul, you will understand about love. You will, at the same time, understand about heaven, your ultimate home. I am calling to you now and I know that you hear Me. Come to Me. Stay with Me. Give Me the briefest chance to reveal Myself to you.

Jesus

As I draw you into the mystical nature of yourself, I draw you into My heart. My heart and your heart belong together. When you are with Me, you feel calm and accepted. You feel oneness with others because you experience community in your soul. If I am with each man as I am with you, then you are connected to each man through Me. Do you begin to understand the family of God?

I love every man created. I have a good plan for every man created. This is My truth and, as you recall, I can never be where there is deceit. If I have a good agenda for every man created, and I have a good agenda for you, you are safe with Me and all mankind is safe with Me.

If connected to Me, each person will serve his time on earth in mystical union with every other person and in mystical union with all of the saints in heaven. We are all connected. After this time of service, each man connected to Me comes home to Me and home to the family that loves him, awaits him, and welcomes him.

There is no bad will on heaven's side. There is only acceptance and truth. I have such hope for you, My friend. All of your gifts originate in God and are an outgrowth of God's goodness. If you learn to understand Me, you will learn that I want to use your gifts to create harmony in your soul. When you use your gifts and energy for My purposes, you will benefit the whole world. It must be so because I have said it is so and I can speak only the truth.

We are all connected. Would you like to benefit the world? Truly, you are capable of this and this is My plan for you. I have so much to give to you in terms of knowledge and wisdom. Teamed with Me, you will flourish and grow to heights you never dreamed possible. Rejoice. You are resting with God, the God of all. This God tells you today that you are loved and needed.

Jesus

Follow this path that springs up before you. Come to Me. Turn in My direction and I will reveal this path that I want you to take. You will feel lightness in your spirit, a relief. You will feel calm. Inside there will quietly burst forth a bud of hope. This bud will blossom, have no fear.

The hope you feel in your soul is nourished by the time you spend with Me, seeking truth. I will see to it all. I need the smallest, even the most tremulous willingness. You are hesitant to believe in Me. I know that. I understand everything that has gone before this moment in your life. Remember that I have all universal truth available to Me. In that respect, am I not a valuable person for you to know?

Could you admit that I am possibly the most valuable person you could ever know? If you knew of someone on earth who had all truth about everything, who understood the purest facts and possessed the cleanest, most pristine vision of reality imaginable, would you not seek out this person's company? If you were wise, you would do so.

If you were a man who desired truth, you would do so. If you were weary of lies and falseness, you would do so. My friend, if you seek truth, you must come with Me. If you seek acceptance, you must come to Me. If you want to be loved, you must rest in My heart because it is the only place where you will find the perfect security you crave. I am with you. I will never leave you.

You could not escape My presence, even if you wanted to. You may as well get to know Me better so that you can decide whether you will reject Me or accept Me. This is the ultimate choice that will be yours. Just as you cannot escape My presence, you cannot escape this choice. It is yours. I want you to consider your options.

Jesus

My friend, this is between you and Me. By "this" I refer to both this conversation and your ultimate decision of whether to accept Me or reject Me. When you are asked to make an important decision on earth, you consider your options. You take time and weigh both sides.

Perhaps you waver between one course and another. I want you to consider both sides of this decision. If you accept Me, you will have entry into the most loving and secure family of all. If you accept Me, you will have security for the rest of your life in that I will lay out the course in front of you, guiding you, protecting you, and never leaving you.

If you accept Me, you will come to heaven in triumph, bringing with you the great benefits that your cooperation secured for your family. You will walk in truth and in calm. Your life on earth will not suddenly become easy, but it will be filled with God's peace and God's grace.

If you reject Me, you will continue on, vulnerable to the deceit of My enemy. You will delude yourself at times, thinking that you are wise. Perhaps you will feel superior to many of your brothers and sisters, but I tell you today, in all of My truth, that the most humble one in heaven holds all of God's mysteries in his soul. You will not be privy to these mystical realities if you reject Me. How could you be if you did not want to be?

I conclude with one of the greatest truth of all and that is that I do not force My children to choose Me. I do not force humanity to work for heaven. If I did, we would not have a family, but a master and his slaves. No. This is not for Me and this is not for you. The heavenly Kingdom would not be the heavenly Kingdom if it were not filled with willing and beloved children.

Everyone in heaven works for each other in great joy. Everyone in heaven works for our family members on earth in great hope. As you read these words, there is great hope in heaven that you will choose Me, Jesus Christ, and embark upon the journey to truth. It is here for you. I have truth and I have a course laid out for you that will bring you to this destination.

I love you. I will take care of you. Choose Me and I will begin to reveal Myself to you. You will know peace, My friend. You will know security. You will know joy for all eternity. This is your inheritance and I am your God.

Allow nothing to divert you from the truth that I am Jesus Christ and I love you. I come today to announce Myself to you and to save you. Come. Trust Me. Be with Me. I will protect you.

Medjugorje Day By Day Nov 20 - WHEN MY SON WAS DYING

"Has the tender love of a father or the liberality of a king toward its
subjects ever reached as far as the love of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament?"  (St. John Vianney).

Sunday, Eve of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
As a small child, Mary was presented to the Lord in the temple by her
parents, Sts.
Read and meditate on the following.
Then whenever hardships arise just say
"Praise God" "Thank you Lord"
--------------------------------------------------------------

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:10
--------------------------------------------------------------
It is always astounding to people of small imagination that their ancestors could hate, persecute and kill saints. We imagine that we are 2000 years smarter than the people who put Jesus to death.  We think ourselves wiser than the people who despised Lincoln, or St. Thomas Aquinas, or Joan of Arc.
But the reality is that saints often come to us in very repulsive forms, challenging our deepest and most cherished bigotries.  They are antidotes to the popular poisons of the age.  And because they are antidotes they are often mistaken for poison and hated for it.  Jesus endured just such hatred.  He and His followers were assured by all the leading authorities that His lot was with the wicked and that anyone who followed Him would share His fate among the "accursed" who hung from the tree of the Cross.
But God had an altogether different opinion.  He called Jesus His Beloved Son and gave Him kingship, not only over heaven, but over the whole universe as well.  We shall share in that kingship, if we remain with Him.  And the paradoxical sign of our share in that kingship will be our share in His sufferings and the hatred of the enemies we are called to love and forgive.  Even such hate cannot touch our union with Him.

"When we come back in the evening we have one hour of adoration before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, and [at] this you will be surprised: We have not had to cut down our work for the poor.  The one hour of adoration is the greatest gift God could give a community because . . . we love the poor with greater and deeper faith and love" Bl. Teresa of Calcutta

The Barber

A man went to a barber-shop to have his hair and his beard cut as always. He started to have a good conversation with the barber who attended him. They talked about various things and various subjects. Suddenly, they touched the subject of God.

The barber said: "Look man, I don't believe that God exists as you say."

"Why do you say that?" asked the client.

"Well, it's so easy, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God does not exist. Oh, tell me, if God existed, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be no suffering nor pain. I can't think of loving a God who permits all of these things."

The client stopped for a moment, thinking, but he didn't want to respond so as not to cause an argument. The barber finished his job and the client went out of the shop. Just as he got out of the barber shop he saw a man in the street with long and unkempt hair and beard (it looked like it had been a long time since he had his cut, and he looked so untidy).

The client entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:

"You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say they don't exist?" asked the barber. "I am a barber and here I am, I exist!"

"No!" the client exclaimed. "They don't exist because if they did there would be no people with long hair and beard like that man on the street." "Ah, barbers do exist, what happens is that people do not come to me."

"Exactly!" affirmed the client. "That's the point. God does exist, what happens is people don't go to Him and do not look for Him. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

The treasures of self-sacrifice

"The best influences in life are undeliberate, unconscious; when no one is watching, or when reaction to the good deed was never sought. Such is the long-range influence of a mother in a home; fulfilling of daily duties with love and a spirit of self-sacrifice leaves an imprint on the children that deepens with the years. St. Francis has done much to influence painting, though he was not an artist. Great artists have influenced millions to love beauty, though their intention was never to be so remembered."

St. Faustina's diary  http://www.marian.org/directory_flash.html  -

I must never speak of my own experiences. In suffering, I must seek relief in prayer. In doubts, even the smallest, I must seek only the advice of my confessor. I must always have a heart which is open to receive the sufferings of others, and drown my own sufferings in the Divine Heart so that they would not be noticed on the outside, insofar as possible.

I must always strive for equanimity, no matter how stormy the circumstances might be. I must not allow anything to disturb my interior calm and silence. Nothing can compare with peace of soul. When I am wrongfully accused of something, I will not explain myself; if the superior wants to know the truth, whether I was in the right or not, let her find out from others rather than from me. My concern is to accept everything with a humble inner disposition.       (792)

I have experienced how much envy there is, even in religious life. I see that there are few truly great souls, ready to trample on everything that is not God. O soul, you will find no beauty outside of God. Oh, how fragile is the foundation of those who elevate themselves at the expense of others! What a loss!       (833)

Quote of the Day An evil thought defiles the soul when it is deliberate and is consented to. Our Lord placed evil thoughts at the head of all crimes, because they are their principle and source. -St. John Baptist de la Salle

Today's Tidbit In the final two weeks of the liturgical year the readings at Mass begin to focus on end times and the Second Coming. These readings help us recognize our own sinfulness and reform our lives.

MEDJUGORJE DAY BY DAY
These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press. To

Nov 20 - WHEN MY SON WAS DYING

On Good Friday in 1990, the Virgin gave this message to the visionary's prayer group:

Dear children, I am happy to see you tonight. You know, dear children, that when my Son was dying I was alone with him with only a few other women, but tonight I am happy that so many of you are with me. Tonight, when you return home, pray a rosary in front of your crucifix and be thankful (Visionary Prayer Group April 13, 1990).

Speaking of the crucifixion, St. Luke writes:

And when all the crowds who had gathered there for this spectacle saw what had taken place, they returned home, beating their breasts. But all his acquaintances, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood, at a distance, watching these things (Lk 23:48-49).

Reflection:

When the H.M.S. Birkenhead sank, Alexander Russell, a young officer age seventeen, was ordered to command one of the boats which carried the women and children. As they were pushing off, a sailor who was drowning clasped the side of the boat, but there was no room for even one more. A woman in the boat

cried, "Save him! He's my husband."

Alexander Russell rose, and in a quick movement jumped clear of the boat. He sank in the water, which was full of sharks, and was seen no more as the sailor he had saved was then pulled aboard to safety.

In the end, nothing is more beautiful than love. Yet as beautiful as it is, love is more practical than pretty. Real love deals with the real world, where there's no prettiness. Yet there is beauty.

The sight of Jesus bowing under the weight of the cross, his stumbling, bruising falls on the road, his cries from the cross, his sweat, his blood, his dying breath. None is a pretty sight. Yet how beautiful! Men have tried for centuries to capture the beauty in that ugliness. Some of the greatest works of art have tried to portray the crucified yet beautiful Savior.

Here is God in our flesh, cruelly betrayed, tortured, and nailed to the cross.

What could be uglier?

Nothing. Unless something more beautiful than beauty was there on that hill.

Unless the ugly horror was transcended and transformed, made holy.

And it was. Each time we kneel at the foot of the cross, as we gaze in wonder upon the suffering Servant, no beauty can compare. The glory is overwhelming.

Application:

Today, simply heed Our Lady's request in her message: "Pray the rosary in front of your crucifix with great thankfulness."
