Ammon, the Great, Hermit, I am a monk of the desert. Robbers periodically stole my meager rations of bread. After a while, I tired of it, and ordered two huge serpents to guard my food and cell. When the robbers saw this, they became paralyzed. I cured them, explaining the goodness of God. They repented, and became even more virtuous, presenting in the glory of God signs and wonders.
Another large serpent continually molested and killed nearby villagers. They bade my assistance. In God’s mercy, I prayed before the serpents abode, it rushed me, and burst.
Ammon, (according to Athanasius) became a Christian and a monk. Then a bishop several years more’ after March 15, 351 A.D. six years after Pachomius died. Among the holy folk.

Dear Friends,
The Return from Egypt
“When Herod had died, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, ‘Rise, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the child’s life are dead.’
He rose, took the child and his mother, and went to the land of Israel. But when he heard that Archelaus was ruling over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And because he had been warned in a dream, he departed for the region of Galilee. He went and dwelt in a town called Nazareth, so that what had been spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled, ‘He shall be called a Nazorean.’” Matthew 2:19–23
We had a fine sunny day yesterday with the temperature about 4 degrees Celsius, which means more snow disappeared. It is cloudy today and we might get a little bit of snow but not very much.
Yesterday I celebrated Holy Mass at the Manor in Alberton and I visited in their rooms those who could not come to the chapel and I gave them Holy Communion. In the morning I had visitors from Winnipeg who are staying near Mabou in Cape Breton for a holiday and visiting relatives. I will have to go and find some ink for my copy machine as I am preparing the Newsletter and there is no ink left. I hope to have it ready in a few days. I sold more copies of the book, “Roses in December” by Dom Forker. He wrote a chapter on Our Lady of Prince Edward Island in that book and another chapter on the Santo Nino, the Holy Child. I still have all my books for sale.
Our Lord gave a message to Joseph and here are the words of Jesus to him, “I am the Savior, the Lord, who was born at Bethlehem. I came as the Son of God to bring you salvation. However, right from the beginning some wanted to kill Me. Herod tried to have Me killed but the Father arranged that I be spared. He told My foster father, Joseph, to flee to Egypt with My Mother and Me. When My enemy died, the angel returned to Joseph to tell him that we could return to our country. As Herod’s son was ruling in Jerusalem, Joseph took Me and My Mother to the north of the country to a town called Nazareth. This is where I grew up.
My parents and I knew what it was to be immigrants, as we lived in Egypt for several years. Today many people are forced to move from one country to another because of war, instability, poverty, threats, etc. They hope to go to a new country where they can begin a new life in peace and to be able to work. It is not easy to adjust to another country.
I ask you to be kind and helpful to those people who move to your country from somewhere else. Show them that they are welcome and be ready to help them.” Father Melvin

"Stop the massacre"

Dear Friends,
“When Herod realized that he had been deceived by the magi, he became furious. He ordered the massacre of all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had ascertained from the magi. Then was fulfilled what had been said through Jeremiah the prophet:
‘A voice was heard in Ramah, Sobbing and loud lamentation; Rachel weeping for her children, And she would not be consoled, Since they were no more.’” Matthew 2:16–18
Here is a message from the Lord given to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words, “What a horrible act perpetrated by King Herod against the children of Bethlehem and surroundings!
He had all these innocent children killed hoping that he would kill Me this way. These small children are all in heaven today having been massacred instead of Me. This cruel man had no respect for human beings and he used them as toys to accomplish his evil schemes.
You are horrified at the killing of these children but today what Herod did pales at what is going on in the world. Through abortion millions of unborn children are murdered throughout the world every year. Hospitals have become centers of murder for the killing of these small infants and those who carry out these horrors have no qualms.
The blood of these small children is calling to heaven. You look in horror at what the Nazis did during the Second World War but what is happening now is far worst.
My people, do whatever you can to stop abortion in your country. Every abortion is a grievous sin and offends the Father greatly. Never agree to such butchery even if it involves someone dear to you. Pray and plead with the people to come back to their senses before it is too late. Stop the massacre and let the children live.”

Dear Friends,
The Flight into Egypt
“When the shepherds had departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, ‘Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you. Herod is going to search for the child to destroy him.’ Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed for Egypt. He stayed there until the death of Herod, that what the Lord had said through the prophet might be fulfilled, ‘Out of Egypt I called my son.’” Matthew 2:13–15
Here is another message from Our Lord addressed to Joseph. Jesus spoke to him in these words, “In the flight into Egypt, it was Joseph who was in charge. The angel appeared to him to tell him what was about to happen and asked him to flee to Egypt and take My Mother and I with him. Joseph did everything that the angel asked of him.
Joseph acted as a father to Me. He was the head of the familyand he worked hard to get what was necessary to live. He was a carpenter who could make many things. When I was young he taught Me many things as regards the Jewish religion for he was a devout man who went to the synagogue every week. He was a just and holy man.
Every father should imitate him by taking his responsibility with regard to his family. I must stress that Joseph loved My Mother and He loved Me with all his heart.
In today’s world many marriages end up in divorce often because the fathers do not take their responsibilities seriously. Many drink and cause much hurt to their wives and children.
Others are addicted to other things such as drugs, gambling, etc. and use all the money that should be used for the family for these addictions. I ask all the fathers to look to St. Joseph and see that what came first for him in his life was the family and not himself. The family is very important for society and it is the first school for the children.
Fathers have an important role to play in the upbringing of the children. Let love reign in every family.”

A feeling-a deep burning almost haunting one that came in a mental vision lasting about three hours and began again in the morning of Christmas Eve Day.
Jesus then said: "As the ball drops in Manhattan, N.Y. at Time Square on New Years Eve: all lights will go out, riots will begin and terrorists will begin their evil and ugly shooting, bombing and looting. Many deaths and much destruction will result. People should not go to NYC and people living there should not be out on the streets and if possible should leave for a few days. Fear and panic will abound and there will be many fires. Go to your churches and pray. Spend New Years Eve with Me, your God."

My dear children today I bless you and ask you again to be steadfast in your faith. I will continue to intercede for each of you before God The Father and My Divine Son, Jesus. Without prayer you will be deceived by satan, who has the whole world in total desolation and chaos and is establishing his reign of a false peace. Satan is in our churches, after our priests and lay people.
My children no longer live consecrated lives the way God intended them to be. I beseech you to pray every day to St. Michael the Holy Archangel to help you to fight the battle against satan and all his demons of confusion and despair. Hear My Motherly warning for total conversion of the heart. Come back and cling to My Divine Son's cross so He can pour out His divine mercy of graces, healing and conversion upon you. Kneel before My Divine Son's crucified body, ask for forgiveness of all your sins and those of the whole world and beg pardon for those who do not understand the plans of God.
Satan is a master in his deceiving ways. You cannot understand the influence he has upon the whole world and the people in it. You cannot fight him alone. You must stay together in your churches and nations.¬
You have not recognized the signs given to you from God. Disasters will increase. Events are now taking place that have put the entire world on the brink of war (The false peace). Nations will lead to an ever-widening ring of terror and disaster. War shall annihilate and topple many Governments like sleeping giants, if they do not come back to the flow of My Son, Jesus' teachings. Satan's tool is the hammer of hatred and he will take over your hearts and soul with
distraction and temptations if you let him. My children if you think satan and all his demons are not real then you are lost already. He is as real as you and I. Pray for all leaders of all countries so they will come together for world peace. Pray for your new President-elect. He will need all your prayers and support in his battle to keep you borders free and keep war away from your country. People must come together as they did in World War II as Americans. Pray! Pray! Pray! and then Pray! Pray! Pray! some more.
My children when you see a person, persons or families that need help step in and help them no matter what faith~ race, nationality or politics they may be. Remember what Jesus said, "What you did for the least of My brothers you did unto Me." Jesus said, “Where there are two or more gathered in My name, there I will be also." My peacemakers you must love everyone and not put one segment of society against another. Or you will not be worthy to be called the blessed children of God.
My Son, Jesus tried to develop a deeper spiritual feeling in the heart of His flock, but also enjoyed His keen and quiet sense of humor and encouraged laughter in the most serious talk on spirituality. Do you think My Son Jesus never laughed He did. He was not on His knees all the time.
He loved us all and also showed compassion with tears because He was a human being and enjoyed all the things His Father created in this world. God's people should be happy with a good sense of humor.
My children where there is confusion, jealousy and dismay in your family, churches and country this is satan trying to destroy it. My dear children be a leader of love and kindness, and a loyal servant to our Pope Benedict XVI, Bishop and Priest. Be a light for others to see and to follow. Pray for them.
Your soul needs to be healed My dear children. The medicine you need is prayer and conversion through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Wash yourselves in the spring of living water that flows from the heart of My Son, Jesus. The water I tell you to use comes from a fountain to wash away all your sins. It is the holy water fountain. Wash yourselves and be pure in mind and soul and be saved. (See note) Close your eyes as you do and receive the most pure light in your soul.
This light is My beloved Son, Jesus. This love My angels will be supernatural and divine, you will feel the feeling of supreme love that will make you pure in heart and body. Begin anew in the body of My Son, Jesus and of His passion He gave for the sins of the whole world. Pray the rosary daily. It is the prayer I hold so dear and is the most powerful prayer you My dear children can pray.
I have taken all your petitions and placed them in My Son, Jesus' hands; whatever, He wills will be done.
Note: Our Lady said to keep holy water in your home and bless yourselves daily and in sickness.

I will soon do battle with the Red Dragon and the hour of darkness is approaching. You wonder what shall we do How should we conduct ourselves What will the outcome be for us Is the time of the great purification near I tel1 you my children, do not look for this hour, so that you may be caught up in fear and anxiety. Take refuge in my Son and be under the protection of my mantle.
I will be your answer. Only the Father knows what hour. I want all my children under the cross of My Son with me in prayer. This is the road Jesus took to save all men and is the road you must take in the hour of great confusion and darkness. Have recourse to Me for I will be your salvation. Say this prayer, "0, Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee."
My children, do not become uneasy if you hear and find movements inspired in souls to whom I have revealed myself in apparitions. These apparitions are springing up all over the world. This is my great plan and everything is in place to defeat satan. Do not put down or become jealous of these children that God has picked to receive this honor. I give them messages that are truly from Heaven and should be taken to heart. Consecrate your heart to Me!
My duty as your Heavenly Mother is to be near you and protect you. I suffer when you suffer, and I worry about you when you are in sin. Come unto Me! The weapons that I will use to fight and win this battle will be your prayers and your suffering. Then you, My children, will take up your crosses and be with Jesus and your Mother!
Then when satan thinks he has won a victory and has succeeded in plunging the sanctuary of God into darkness, I will snatch the victory from him and crush the ancient serpent's head with my heel! The many rosaries will the chain I will use to chain satan and cast him into Hell forever. For in the end My Immaculate Heart will triumph over all!
Look at the way Judas betrayed Jesus and see how many are still betraying him. The way people are denying him today and say they don't even know him. Look how many are walking away from Jesus and the Church. The Pope finds himself alone in isolation. He feels rejected by his closest friends. There is a lack of obedience and discipline in the church and my priests, they don't pray the Rosary the way they should. Jesus said, "He who wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross and follow me." Every kingdom divided against itself is destined to defeat and ruin.
Satan makes my children believe that I have nothing to do with the Pope but he, the Pope, is my Pope. What he is teaching are my words, which come from you Heavenly Father. Many of my priests think that they do not need me in the church anymore. This is wrong. I am the Mother of the church. This is how the evil one works, causing nothing but shipwreck in the faith. Listen to my words; satan's time is coming to an end and very soon!
Do not fear for I will lead you, My children, to your God, My Son Jesus and to Paradise.

When the angel appeared to me and told me that I was to conceive a child which will be the Son of God, I knew that I had never known man and that I was a virgin. I wanted to tell everyone I met, but I was to keep it a secret that I carried Jesus in my womb. I kept the secret for nine months and then it was made known to the world of the birth of the Son of God!
So it was with you. I came to you and told you to go to Our Lady of Snows Shrine for the next four months, but to tell no one, to keep it a secret, and you answered yes. You did as I asked. I know how badly you wanted to tell and shout it out to all, but you remained loyal to me. Even after four months of my appearing to you, you came back on the fifth month out of love and obedience to me.
You kept coming back on the 13th of each month until October and still you kept it a secret for nine months just as I did with My Son, Jesus, January to September. On October 13, 1993, I told you to make it known to the world, and you did. You have been a loyal and loving servant to me.
You have always praised the name of My Son Jesus in everything you said and did. For this you will be rewarded greatly, maybe not in this world but in the next. I will always bless you and be with you.
You ask me why I have chosen you to spread my messages, because you feel so inadequate and helpless, not suitable. You said, "I am nothing and weak and you know my past life of infidelities." My Son, I have chosen you because you are the least apt instrument.
Thus no one will say this is your work or words. I will manifest my strength through your nothingness and manifest my power in your littleness and faults. In the past years, the devil had almost succeeded in claiming you as a victory, but My Lord did things to you and showed you things that only a few ever see. This totally changed your life, and you became one of My most loyal angels to whom 1 can trust. Because you are living through all these events and know what lies ahead, you have consecrated your soul to me and I in you.
You asked yourself, what happened to me Things that used to captivate and completely absorb me now don't mean anything. I have transformed you and consecrated your heart and soul to me.
You will become a faithful image of My Son, Jesus. I will give you new ways of understanding and you will see things that used to interest you no longer mean anything. You will learn to love with a new feeling of love in your heart for everyone and everything.
Do not be afraid or worried about meeting with me on the 13th of each month, for I will guide you and tell you what to do. Do not be too concerned in spreading my words, for I will send you My angels to help you. Let me act, trust me. I want you to keep them in prayer and close to me so I can cover them with My Mantle. Be patient, My ways are far different than yours.
You will learn to be attentive to My voice and it is good that you are now writing down everything I tell you in simplicity. You will always act under My Motherly inspiration. I tell you to be careful of what you say, for many will repeat your words. You have been put to the test in how to keep a secret and in words told to you in secret.
I tell you all these things because the day will come when all will be known to the world. Even when you are not praying, you will have prayer on your mind. Even if you are amusing yourself of taking a trip, you will remain in Me. I will set a fire in your soul and you will receive many graces for doing what I tell you.
Everything that happens to you has been prearranged by Me for your own good. Even the moments of obscurity, suffering and misunderstanding are all prearranged, so that you may grow and become strong along the way of perfect consecration. Your past and infidelities do not exist anymore, for you are mine.
There were times when life seemed lost. People turned away from you and you didn't know why. Some talked about you and put you down. Some even threatened you, but you prayed for them. When your wife became sick, you still remained loyal to me and prayed. These are trials and tests of one's love to God.
You have brought many souls back to God in what you do and how you show love to them. To you My humble servant, I bless You!

I will pray with anyone who ask for their own special intentions or sickness and I will even lay hands on them and ask God in the name of Jesus to heal them. But to my knowledge, I do not have the gift of healing, the gift of tongues, or any other special gift. The only gift I have is seeing Our Lady and receiving messages. 1 know of no other visionary who has the gift of healing. This gift God gives to other people.
I was told there are more than 250-300 known apparitions of Mary today and more to come as people come forth who were afraid to before.
Our Lady told me that She would appear in everyone's living room if She had to, to bring men to their knees in prayer and back to God. As we look back 2,000 years and see what took place since the birth of Our Lord, people will look back at what is taking place today, in these years, 1990 to 2000+, as the big event in history of the Bible in the time to come. My dearest children, welcome here. I welcome you as you have welcomed Me. I am your mother, Mary, so filled with joy to be here with you. Believe this is true. Believe I am here, loving you, showering you with graces and new strength. You suffer for the world today, My dear ones.
Continue to offer yourself as a victim soul, a victim of love for the world. Never could it be too often that that be mentioned and suggested by Heaven. Never can you do too much. When you love someone, there is not a matter of degree. You love them with your whole heart. That is how you are loving your country, and your world and each other. That is what We call for from your hearts.
My children, each day people get more discouraged, upset, lose any understanding they might have had for the Father's plan; lose any patience and every patience they might have developed or accepted from Heaven.
It is the greater part of your suffering, My dear ones. Realize that when you feel all the symptoms that you do waiting, you are praising your Father, your God, and thanking Him for His wisdom, for His plans that are perfect.
The time grows short. How can that be The time was short fifteen years ago, is that not true, My darling ones Oh, how I love you! How proud I am of you in a holy way, in a grateful motherly way, of your strength and your perseverance! You have no idea of the thousands and thousands of souls you have saved already. You can keep on keeping on. You can accept with dignity and joy whatever the Father's Will sends your way.
You are Our precious children. You are Our weapons, the weapons of Heaven against evil in the world. Yes, darkness falls more, in a more concentrated way, from people who have become more dedicated to Satan's plan, more filled with evil, more sure of themselves in their conquest of the world.
My children, grasp the joy I bring this day for each of you. You understand so much more now. It helps you to be who you are in the Father's great plan, to accept His plans for you, His love for you. His love for you is difficult to live. Continue to be brave. Continue to remember I am right next to you. I walk at your side, arm in arm, Our hearts entwined with love for the Triune God and gratitude for your place in the Sacred Heart.
Dwell not on what might happen or when, but do pray more. Do pray with more surrender of yourselves. How the Father loves you! How grateful He is for you! Believe this. It is truth. It is the greatest joy in your lives. Have joy for those who suffer. Have joy and understanding of what a person is going through who is offering his or her "Yes" to whatever occurs.
You are being cleansed, My children. Continue to ask for more. The people in the world, the people in the world, the poor people in the world. Pray for them in just that way. Thank the Father for giving them to you. They are your means of salvation. They are your cross. Be joyful, My children. As you wait, you become joy. Vision to littlest of servants December 29, 2008 While in Church this morning after receiving HOLY COMMUNION I received the following vision.
I saw a multitude of people and then I saw a bright light, like you would get after a nuclear explosion.
I then saw a map with China on it. I then saw a dragon across the map of China. I then saw the signs of free masonry across the map of China on top of the dragon. I then saw the map of China with the words WW III written across it.
I then knew that the dragon meant that China was under the control of satan and that the free masons under the guidance of the satanic anti-christ was leading them into WW III.
JESUS then spoke and told me that HIS followers need to prepare in four ways. CONFESSION, THE HOLY EUCHARIST, ROSARY, AND DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET.

Dec 30 - LET YOUR HEARTS CONTINUE TO BE HAPPY
Today Our Lady speaks of happiness and the retreat of Satan:
Dear children, this Christmas Satan especially wanted to spoil God's plans, but you, dear children, discerned Satan even on Christmas Day itself. But God is winning in all your hearts. So let your hearts continue to be happy (Weekly Message Dec 27, 1984).
St. Paul also speaks of joy and the defeat of Satan:
For while your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, I want you to be wise in what is good and guileless in what is evil. The God of peace will shortly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you (Rom 16:10-20).
Reflection:
Happiness, according to many philosophers, is a state of being that nobody recognizes while they are happy, but can recollect all too clearly when they are unhappy.
But the happiness that St. Paul and Our Lady refer today is the inner joy that is born of God's love in our hearts. It is the fruit of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ based on total trust. It usually does not happen all at once, but by degrees. As our trust builds, so does our peace.

And in Romans, Paul echoes the Virgin's call to peace:
For the kingdom of God is not food and drink but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. The one who thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and has human approval. Let us then pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding (Rom 14:17-19).
Reflection:
The Queen of Peace fittingly closes the year with a call to peace. This has always been her central message, the primary reason for her apparitions in Medjugorje. And, with the prayers of her children, what wonders she has achieved! The fall of the Berlin Wall, the liberation of Eastern Europe, the collapse of Communism, the rebirth of the Russian republics, the rise of both democracy and the philosophy of human rights.
A new age of peace has dawned "not through the presidents, but through prayer". All of us who have helped Our Lady through prayer, fasting, and sacrifice; all of us who have tried to live her messages; all of us who have believed in her and trusted her we too have had a part in ushering in this new age.
In decades to come historians will puzzle over the cataclysmic events of the 1980's and 90's, trying to figure out how it all could have happened. And most will be unaware that it was the work of a young maiden on a hillside in Yugoslavia, who wept for peace. Gathering the faithful from every land, she worked miracles. She continues to this day.
Application:
On New Year's Eve in 1985, Jesus said, "When you hear the bells at midnight, you will fall on your knees, bow your head to the ground, so that the King of Peace will come". Let us live that message tonight.

Energy supplies will be threatened by this dire development. Supply will be severely constricted causing prices to rise up in unprecedented levels sparking riots in many countries of the world.
What else can you do my faithful children but PRAY for mitigation or delay You have the choice on whether to ignore my warning or instead take me seriously.

Crude Oil Rises After Israeli Attacks on Gaza Roil Middle East By Grant Smith
Dec. 29 (Bloomberg) -- Crude oil rose for a second day after Israeli air strikes in the Gaza strip raised concerns that supply from the Middle East, the world's largest producing region, may be disrupted.
Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Israel is fighting a "war to the death" with Hamas, the group that controls Gaza. Prices also advanced as China, the world's second-biggest energy consumer, said it will supplement its emergency oil stockpiles while prices are low, and the United Arab Emirates announced compliance with OPEC production cuts agreed on this month.
"The instability in the Middle East may well push oil prices higher," said Rob Laughlin, a senior broker with MF Global Ltd. in London. "China's plans to stockpile crude may take up some slack from the demand destruction from the economic slowdown."
Crude oil for February delivery rose as much as $4.49, or 12 percent, to $42.20 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange, the biggest gain in a week. It was at $40.24 at 12:38 p.m. in London. Today's gain pares oil's plunge from its $147.27 a barrel record on July 11 to 73 percent.
Hamas, the militant Islamist group that seized control of Gaza last year, is backed by Iran and considered a terrorist organization by the United States. Iran holds the world's second-largest oil reserves and sits on the narrow sea channel through which oil from the Persian Gulf is shipped.
Futures prices fell 11 percent last week, reaching a four- year low of $32.40 on Dec. 19.
Dollar Weakens

Jesus Tells Us What Faith Is
Today at our usual 8:00 A.M. Mass, I made humble offerings to Jesus and Mary and prayed for all with special needs and intentions. In preparation of receiving Holy Communion, the precious body and blood of Christ, I made a sincere Act Of Contrition.
With the Host on my tongue, felt my heart beating with Jesus and I prayed that I might only hear or see what truly comes from Him. I gave thanks to Jesus and asked Him to please cover me with His most precious blood. Then I prayed, Speak Lord (if it be His will), Your servant listens.
Jesus responded to my heart saying; My child Eileen, I thank you for having accepted my word on angels without understanding, for this truly is what is required by faith. Standing up for your faith is necessary for not all will be revealed to My children in this life.
Yet you were aware that you had never heard the name Lepidus before and had no way of knowing that he was a soldier. Trust in Me and I will lead you home. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. Continue to pray for your brothers and sisters. Amen.

Our Lady's monthly message for Christmas, 1987:
Dear children, rejoice with me! My heart is rejoicing because of Jesus and today I want each one of you to open your hearts to Jesus and I will give him to you with love.
Dear children, I want him to change you, to teach you, and to protect you. Today I am praying in a special way for each one of you and I am presenting you to God so he will manifest himself in you.
I am calling you to sincere prayer with the heart so that every prayer of yours may be an encounter with God. In your work and in your everyday life put God in the first place.
I call you today with great seriousness to obey me and to do as I am calling you (Monthly Message Dec 25, 1987).
The Christmas narrative continues with the flight into Egypt:
Now after they had left, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, "Get up, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him".
Then Joseph got up, took the child and his mother by night, and went to Egypt, and remained their until the death of Herod. This was to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet, "Out of Egypt I have called my son" (Mt 2:13-15).
Reflection:
Mary says to us today, "My heart is rejoicing because of Jesus and today I want to offer him to you".
Faced with the love of Christ and his Mother, we are inspired in turn to be loving and generous ourselves. To love is catching, especially in this holy season. One example:
A report from an elementary school near Chicago tells about a Christmas pageant held in the school. A third grader was the innkeeper. He had only one line to say; "Sorry. There is no room in the inn". But the little boy entered into the spirit of the play and said his part with real feeling. And then, as Mary and Joseph turned away to leave, the little fellow called out, "Come back, Joseph. I'll give you my room"! (Anonymous).
Application: Like the little boy, allow yourself to be swept away by love during these days. Medjugorje Day By Day Dec 29 - A SHEPHERDS HEART
"Let us invite the Blessed Virgin to preside maternally over the Eucharistic life of the entire Church. Mother Teresa - It is easy to love those who are far away. It isn't always easy to love those who are right next to us. It is easier to offer a dish of rice to satisfy the hunger of a poor person, than to fill up the loneliness and suffering of someone lacking love in our own family.
Meditations by Padre Pio - And yet, once our last hour has come, and our hearts have ceased to beat, everything will be finished for us and the time to merit as well as to demerit. We will present ourselves to Christ the Judge just as death finds us. Our cries of supplication, our tears, our sighs of repentance, which while still on earth would have won God's heart, could have made us with the help of the Sacraments, Saints out of sinners, today is worthless; the time of Mercy is passed, now begins the time of Justice.

If you are truly seeking God's will in all this and desire to fulfill it, you can be at peace; the Lord will not allow any sort of error. During one time of prayer, I learned how pleasing to God was the soul of Father Andrasz. He is a true child of God. It is rare that divine sonship shines forth so clearly in a soul, and this because he has a special devotion to the Mother of God. (1388)

Dec 29 - A SHEPHERD'S HEART
During Christmas of 1983, Our Lady said to Jelena:
I desire that you be a flower which blossoms for Jesus at Christmas, a flower which continues to bloom after Christmas has passed. I so wish that your heart be a shepherd's heart, for Jesus (Locution Jelena & Mirjana 1983).
St. John speaks of the miracle of the Incarnation:
And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth (Jn 1 :14).
Reflection:
The enduring love of Christ touches us in a special way during Christmas. At the same time it also inspires us to be shepherds after his own heart, a vocation to which the Mother of God also calls us. To have a shepherd's heart means to look around us, even search for, those in need. A story might illustrate:
Chad Varah was an Anglican priest. In 1953, he buried a girl of 18 who had killed herself. The coroner, at the inquest, suggested that she might not have done this desperate act if someone had been around who would have listened to her troubles.
Chad Varah decided to use his London church and a telephone to listen to people who were in despair. He put a small advertisement in the local paper, and during the first week he had 27 calls.
Soon he was listening and advising people twelve hours each day. There were so many people waiting in his outer office to see him that he asked some of his congregation to come and provide cups of tea for them.
Then he found that often people who had come into the outer office in great distress had become different people by the time they reached him, and some did not even wait to see him because of the helpers who had befriended the clients. That is how the Order of Samaritans was formed (Patrica Curley).
Application:
Let us answer the Madonna's call today by helping those who are needful in our own family and community - the aged, the handicapped, the bereaved. Ask Our Lady to point out to you the person(s) in need whom she wishes you to help.
SHORT POWERFUL PRAYER THROUGH ST. JOSEPH
"Glorious St. Joseph, tenderhearted father, faithful guardian of Jesus, chaste spouse of the Mother of God, I ask you to join me in praising God the Father through His Divine Son who died on the cross and rose again to give us sinners new life. Through the Holy Name of Jesus, pray with me that we may obtain from the eternal Father the favor we ask. (here state your intention)."
Say this prayer for nine consecutive days.
Fear not! God is your shelter (the 23rd Psalm and the Lord’s Prayer. God never fails. Don’t fail him. Call on Jesus. Jesus on the mainline, tell him what you want!
