Your heart is like ploughed soil and it is ready to receive the fruit which will grow into what is good. You, little children, are free to choose good or evil. Therefore, I call you to pray and fast. Plant joy and the fruit of joy will grow in your hearts for your good, and others will see it and receive it through your life. Renounce sin and choose eternal life. I am with you and intercede for you before my Son. Thank you for having responded to my call."

This invitation of Jesus' is especially alive in my soul when I contemplate the Eucharistic mystery. I entrust all the People of God to Him, the Good Shepherd, in this Lenten walk towards Easter" (Pope John Paul II, February 20, 2005).
Outside the Eucharistic celebration, the Church is careful to venerate the
Blessed Sacrament, which must be "reserved...as the spiritual centre of the religious and parish community" (Paul VI, Mysterium Fidei, n. 68).

Pity can be misplaced if one does not see the whole picture
"When Our Lord was being led out to Calvary, the pious women came to console Him, but He addressed them saying, 'Weep not for Me, but weep for yourselves and your children.' In other words, 'Your pity is misplaced. It is not for Me that you should mourn, but rather weep for those who send Me to death. Shed no tears for the Crucified, but for the crucifers. I go to a momentary sorrow, but there is a glorious Resurrection from it. In every flame there is a point of quietness and repose where a match may be inserted without igniting; so too within My heart, already so crowned with thorns of sorrow, there is an oasis of joy which no man can take from Me.'"

Where there is genuine virtue, there must be sacrifice as well; one's whole life must be a sacrifice. It is only by means of sacrifice that souls can become useful. It is my self-sacrifice which, in my relationship with my neighbor, can give glory to God, but God's love must flow through this sacrifice, because everything is concentrated in this love and takes its value from it. (1358)
I am coming out of this retreat thoroughly transformed by God's love. My soul is beginning a new life, earnestly and courageously; although outwardly my life will not change, and no one will notice it, nevertheless, pure love is [now] the guide of my life and, externally, it is mercy which is its fruit. I feel that I have been totally imbued with God and, with this God, I am going back to my everyday life, so drab, tiresome, and wearying, trusting that He whom I feel in my heart will change this drabness into my personal sanctity. O Eternal Love, who enkindles a new life within me, a life of love and of mercy, support me with Your grace, so that I may worthily answer Your call, so that what You Yourself have intended to accomplish in souls through me might indeed be accomplished.
My God, I see the radiance of eternal dawn. My whole soul bounds toward You, O Lord; nothing any longer holds me back, nothing ties me to earth. Help me, O Lord, to bear the rest of my days with patience. The sacrifice of my love burns incessantly before Your Majesty, but so silently that only Your divine eye sees it, O God, and no other creature is capable of perceiving it. (1365)

Feb 24 - EVEN THE SMALLEST PRAYERS
Today the Blessed Mother speaks of prayer from the heart
: "Dear Children, today I call you to pray with the heart. Throughout this season of grace; I wish each of you to be united with Jesus. But without unceasing prayer, you cannot experience the great and beautiful graces which God is offering you.
Therefore, little children, at all times fill your hearts with even the smallest prayers. I am with you and I keep watch unceasingly over every heart which is given to me. (Monthly Message Feb 25, 1989)
St. James advises : If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you. But ask in faith; never doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind (Jas
1 :5-6).
Reflection :
James emphasizes that our prayer should be confident and hopeful, for God will deny nothing that is good to his children. And the Blessed Virgin stresses the importance of "even the smallest prayers, " for they too are an encounter with her divine Son.
The following is a special "small prayer " for inner peace which seeks the intercession of St. Therese, the Little Flower :
"Lord Jesus, inspired by the example of St. Therese, I place all my trust in your Sacred Heart, and surrender myself to your will. Come into my life, drive away my fears, stop my restless strivings, and show me new ways of pleasing you. Teach me to discern
the good in others, and to love them with an affectionate smile, a gentle touch, a patient ear, and an affirming word.
St. Therese, pray that I may become alive again with awe, the appreciation of truth, and the courage to oppose evil. Remind me always that I am created for happiness, for the joy of living in the presence of God. St. Therese, pray that I, and all God's people, may have the inner peace that comes form confidence, surrender, and affirmation. Amen.

"When you see It [the Body of Christ] exposed, say to yourself: Thanks to this body, I am no longer dust and ashes, I am no more a captive but a freeman: hence I hope to obtain heaven and the good things that are there in store for me, eternal life, the heritage of the angels, companionship with Christ; death has not destroyed this body which was pierced by nails and scourged, . . . this is that body which was once covered with blood, pierced by a lance, from which issued saving fountains upon the world, one of blood and the other of water. . . This body He gave to us to keep and eat, as a mark of His intense love" (St. John Chrysostom).

The Blame Game!
"The self-indulgent always find fault with others. The blame has to be placed somewhere: the boss, the nagging wife, the teachers, the politicians or the nasty man at the next desk. The sense of justice is so rooted in the human heart that responsibility must be laid on some shoulders; if not on self, where it belongs, then on another, where it does not. The self-pity awakens a sorrow which leads to despair and remorse."
St. Faustina's diary Suddenly, when I had consented to the sacrifice with all my heart and all my will, God's presence pervaded me. My soul became immersed in God and was inundated with such happiness that I cannot put in writing even the smallest part of it. I felt that His Majesty was enveloping me. I was extraordinarily fused with God. I saw that God was well pleased with me and, reciprocally, my spirit drowned itself in Him. Aware of this union with God, I felt I was especially loved and, in turn, I loved with all my soul. A great mystery took place during that adoration, a mystery between the Lord and myself. It seemed to me that I would die of love [at the sight of] His glance. I spoke much with the Lord, without uttering a single word. And the Lord said to me, You are the delight of My Heart; from today on, every one of your acts, even the very smallest, will be a delight to My eyes, whatever you do. At that moment I felt transconsecrated. My earthly body was the same, but my soul was different; God was now living in it with the totality of His delight. This is not a feeling, but a conscious reality that nothing can obscure. (137)

Feb 23 - PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!
Our Lady's monthly message for October, 1991 (in the midst of the Yugoslavian civil war), was startling in its brevity. It was simply :
"Pray, pray, pray ! "
In St.John's gospel, Jesus weeps out of love for his friend Lazarus :
When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her also weeping, he was greatly disturbed in spirit and deeply moved. He said, "Where have you laid him? " They said to him, "Lord, come and see. " Jesus began to weep. So the Jews said, "See how he loved him! " (Jan 11 :33-36)
Reflection :
Today we have two brief but powerful messages from Jesus and the Blessed Mother : prayer and love. It is these qualities that mark the following love letter from Jesus (quoted from the Apostleship of Prayer) :
Dear Friend,
How are you? I just had to send a note to tell you how much I love you and care about you.
I saw you yesterday as you were talking with your friends. I waited all day, hoping you would want to talk with me also. As evening drew near, I gave you a sunset to close your day and a cool breeze to rest you—and I waited. You never came. Oh,yes, it hurts me—but I still love you because I am your friend.
I saw you fall asleep last night and longed to touch your brow, so I spilled moonlight upon your pillow and face. Again I waited, wanting to rush down so we could talk. I have so many gifts for you! You awakened late and rushed off to work. My tears were in the rain. Today you looked so sad—so all alone. It makes my heart ache because I understand. My friends let me down and hut me many times, too, but I love you.
Oh, if you would only listen to me. I love you! I try to tell you in the blue sky and in the quiet green grass. I whisper it in the leaves on the trees and breathe it in the colors of flowers. I shout it to you, I mountain streams and give the birds love songs to sing. I clothe you with warm sunshine and perfume the air with nature scents. My love for you is deeper than the ocean and bigger than the biggest want or needing your heard. Oh, if you only knew how much I want to walk and talk with you. We could spend an eternity together in heaven.
I know how hard it is on this earth; I really know!
And I want to help you. I want you to meet my Father. He wants to help you, too. My Father is that way, you know. Just call me ask me, talk with me! Oh, please don't forget me. I have so much to share with you! All right, I won't bother you any further. You are free to choose me. It's your decision. I have chosen you, and because of this I will wait, because I love you!

Third Luminous Mystery- Jesus Proclamation of the Kingdom of God with His Call
to Conversion
Praise be to Jesus for Jesus is Lord Saviour, Redeemer, Reconciler of all
nations, open your heart My Little One that you may hear with the ears of the
soul and see with the eyes of the soul.
My little children, to ?Proclaim means to announce, to say out loud words that
mean you are proud of someone or proud to be with someone. To say to your
friends, family that you love them, that you are happy to be part of your family
or that you are very happy that you are friends with your classmates or the
children that live in your neighborhood. When these mysteries were placed in
Pope John Paul?s heart, he was thinking how wonderful it was to be a part of the
Roman Catholic Faith.
Remember my little ones, when I spoke to you of receiving the Holy Sacrament of
Baptism. This is when you became a new member of the Roman Catholic Church which
prepares you through the Holy Sacraments and the Teachings of the Roman Catholic
Church, to enter into the Kingdom of God. To enter into the Kingdom of God for
all eternity should be every person?s goal. When I speak to you of a goal, that
means to go forth or go ahead. As a child of God, staying close to God should be
very important to you and if you remember in the Joyful Mysteries I said that
when you pray this is speaking with God it is also how you would stay close to
God. It is how you tell Me, your Jesus of Mercy and God the Father that you want
to be close to Us. The closer you get to Me your Jesus of Mercy and God the
Father, the easier it becomes to reach your goal of entering the Kingdom of God,
and the more you will grow to love me your Jesus of Mercy and God the Father and
through growing in your love for Us you will be able to show others how to love
Us. Your prayers are very special to God the Father and to Me your Jesus of
Mercy and through your praying for others than your example can teach others of
Our Love, Our Mercy and they will desire to change and get closer to God the
Father and Me your Jesus of Mercy. This is what the word ?conversion? means, to
change. And as their heart changes, they begin to have a greater desire to live
for all eternity in the Kingdom of God. Are you beginning to see how important
each of you are to My Father and to Me your Jesus of Mercy. This is how much We
love each one of you, so much so that all We want is for every person to always
have and know Our Love and someday to live with Us in Heaven for all eternity.
This is why the Holy Sacrament of Reconcilliation is so important, going to the
priest to confess all that was done wrong and ask forgiveness of God the Father,
God the Son and God the Holy Spirit and receive the Holy Grace of Absolution
from the priest who represents the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is important
to be sorry for all sins and making sure that one?s soul is in the State of
Grace by asking forgiveness through the Holy Sacrament of Reconciliation
Now my little children, I have promised you that I will be with you each time
you say your daily rosary and God the Father promises that your prayers will
save many souls so lets start now with One Our Father, Ten Hail Mary?s and One
Gloria. Please remember My precious little children that I will wait every day
for this special time that you come to spend with Me and pray your rosary I love
you, your Jesus of Mercy.

share with each other My Holy Mother?s Rosary.
Another mystery of light is the preaching by which Jesus proclaims the coming of
the Kingdom of God, calls to conversion (cf. Mk 1:15) and forgives the sins of
all who draw near to him in humble trust (cf. Mk 2:3-13; Lk 7:47- 48): the
inauguration of that ministry of mercy which he continues to exercise until the
end of the world, particularly through the Sacrament of Mount Tabor. The glory
of the Godhead shines forth from the face of Christ as the Father commands the
astonished Apostles to listen to him/?(cf. Lk 9:35 and parallels) and to
prepare to experience with him the agony of the Passion, so as to come with him
to the joy of the Resurrection and a life transfigured by the Holy Spirit.
