Simpsons Bible Stories
Original airdate: (4-4-99)

During an especially hot Easter service, the Simpsons begin to doze off and dream about being in Bible stories….

Marge dreams of being Eve in Eden, with Homer as Adam, and Flanders as God. Despite Flanders’s warnings, Homer eats the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge. Marge warns Homer to stop, but winds up eating the fruit herself, after he urges her to. When Flanders catches Marge, he kicks her out. Guilty over not saying anything, Homer tries to sneak her back into Eden, only to get them both cast out.

Lisa dreams of the Exodus from Egypt, casting herself and her classmates as Israelite slaves, Milhouse as Moses, and Principal Skinner as the Pharaoh. After encouraging Milhouse to stand up to Pharaoh Skinner and ask him to let the Israelites go, Milhouse and Lisa are sealed in a pyramid. They escape and lead the other Israelites to the Red Sea. O part it, Lisa has the Israelites flush all of the Egyptians’ nearby toilets. The Pharaoh’s minions follow the escaping Israelites and are swept away by the rushing water. Free at last, Milhouse and the Israelites begin their long wandering in the desert.

Homer dreams of being King Solomon. He presides over a dispute in which Lenny and Carl, as ancient Israelites, each claim, ownership of a pie. Homer reasons that the pie should be cut in two and each man should be sentenced to death. He then eats the pie.

Bart dreams of being King David and battling Goliath’s son, Nelson Muntz as Goliath II. During his first battle with Nelson, Bart is knocked far, far away from Israel and his crown is lost to the giant. There, he meets Shepherd Ralph, who takes it upon himself to slay Nelson. Ralph is quickly killed by the giant, Full of rage over Ralph’s end, Bart nearly slays Nelson. Ralph, found to actually be alive, finishes the giant off for Bart. Bart is thrown in jail; as it turns out, his subjects feel Nelson was an excellent king.

When the Simpsons wake up, church is over, and everyone is gone. They go outside and discover that the Apocalypse has come. Though Lisa is to be spared, Homer pulls her down from her ascent to heaven, to join her family in hell.
