Parasailing with his family, Homer accidentally breaks free from their boat, and floats away. After his parachute is torn by a branch, Homer crashes through the skylight of a fancy, secluded house. Homer is amazed to discover the home is the weekend getaway of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger. They tell Homer they stay in Springfield to escape from their celebrity and ask him to keep their presence in town a secret. Homer offers them his services as an assistant, and they accept.

Ron Howard stops by, asking to stay with Baldwin and Basinger while he looks for a home in Springfield. Soon, Homer has earned the trust of the stars. But at Moe's, Homer can't resist an opportunity to brag about his new Hollywood friends. By the next morning, all of Springfield knows about their celebrity neighbors.

Alec and Kim fire Homer, and in revenge, he opens a mobile Museum of Hollywood Jerks in a Winnebago. It features Alec's and Kim's personal items that he had been keeping in his trunk. When Alec and Kim decide to give Homer another chance, they discover him showing off their underwear. They go after Homer in their Humvee. During the chase, Ron Howard winds up being tossed onto the street. Homer gives up, and after a brief trial, he is forbidden from being within 500 miles of any celebrity, living or dead.
