Game one of Skid's season at Citi. September 28th - GAME #162 vs Houston Astros (70-91)
Bartolo Colon (14-13) ends the season against the Astros Nick Tropeano (1-2)

79-83

Big home runs by Lucas Duda and Ruben Tejada in the 8th inning put the Mets ahead to stay in a tie with Atlanta for 2nd place in the division. Bartolo Colon won his 15th victory to lead the Mets pitching staff. Duda's 30th home run [3rd in the league] of the season put an exclamation point on his breakout season, also giving him 92 RBI's [5th in the league]. By the way Ike Davis ended the season in Pittsburgh with 11 HR [65th] and 51 RBIs [66th]. Bobby Abreau's final hit was well received by the Mets fans, always sad to see a long career end (except that guy in pinstripes) [RE2PECT]. A nice game for the Mets to end the season and they got more than 4 hits!

At the suggestion of my wife, I stayed home today from church and watched the game live. I'm glad I did. I even watched the ninth inning of the Zimmermann no hitter on the PC while watching the Mets on TV. Tonight is a New Orleans Saints game on TV so I get a day of watching both my favorite teams which will not happen again this year.
