Jacob deGrom again pitched an outstanding game with eight shutout innings and striking out nine Rockies hitters. The bullpen escaped a potential ninth disaster and the Mets won their third game in a row and 6 of their last 7. After the game the Mets announced that team captain David Wright was done for the season with left shoulder soreness that has really been bothering him all season.
I had another quite day at home waiting for game time at 4:00. My Granddaughter came over at 5:30 and [sort of] watched the game with me. She told her mom she was going to see baseball at Grandpa's house. I thought the Mets were going to give this game away in the ninth but they pulled off the shutout. I'm still excited about the 2015 schedule coming out yesterday. It is going to be a tough winter of waiting.
