Game one of Skid's season at Citi. September 26th - GAME #160 vs Houston Astros (69-90)
Jon Niese (9-11) vs Brad Peacock (4-9). The Mets look to beat out the Braves for 2nd place in the Eastern Division by winning against Houston for the final 3 games of 2014.

77-83

Jon Niese left with an accelerated heartbeat in the 6th inning leading 1-0 but Carlos Torres could not stop the Astros rally and gave up 3 runs for the loss. Curtis Granderson hit his 20th home run of the season. Many Mets are not playing because of injuries as the season comes to a close and pitchers get their last start in.

After a 3-day trip to Santa Cruz and Lake Tahoe with my good friend of 45 years, I relaxed at home and watched the Mets battle for 2nd place. It wasn't much of a battle. But the Braves lost and the Marlins split a double header with Washington. There is now a three way tie for 2nd in the division with two games left. If the Mets have anything left to win the last two games, a second place finish would make the season look better in the standings.

Two METS have 20+ home runs this year (Duda & Granderson)
