Game one of Skid's season at Citi. September 10th - GAME #146 vs Colorado Rockies (59-86)
Rafael Montero (0-3) vs Tyler Matzek (5-9). After last night's game the Mets announced that David Wright was done for the rest of the season with a sore shoulder. Today Daniel Murphy started at third base giving the youngest player in the Majors, 20 year old Dilson Herrera a chance to play some more at second base.

71-75

Rafael Montero pitched 5 1/3 shutout innings and got his first Major League victory. The Mets shutout the Rockies for the second straight game 2-0. The Mets have now won four in a row and 7 of their last 8 games. There is talk of a wildcard chance but it is about the same as that frozen ice ball in Hades.

I had another quiet day at home today but went out to run some errands around 3:00 pm. I wandered by my old worksite just before quitting time to see the ex-co-workers, I even helped them out a bit (but not much). By the time I got home the game was halfway over so I waited until later to watch it from the beginning. That way I can skip commercials. I'm starting to feel more like I'm retired than on vacation but the Mets season is winding down and fall should be here soon (even though it was 95 degrees outside today)

METS 5 1/2 games out of the wildcard.
