JANUARY 24th, 2007

Today was our last full day in China. We packed all morning, went for a little walk, ate PB&Js for lunch and then headed downstairs to take pictures on the red sofa of the White Swan hotel. It is something that all the adoption groups do. (I looked forward to this thanks to Patty, Tom and little Miss Stand-Up-On-The-Sofa, Molly!) It is really a wonderful tradition. All of the children are so beautiful and are headed out to such wonderful new opportunities and adventures. This was one last time to take pictures together with the group who have shared such monumental changes together.

My son did not want to have anything to do with the pictures until little Chloe sat down with him.

Then he made it his mission to protect her from falling. We are really going to miss Chloe and her mom, Julie! And also our dear friends: Penny and Leland, as well as Susan, her brother, Mark, and little Shin Shin!

After the pictures we headed for the American Consulate and had our swearing in ceremony. This means that as soon as Frankie lands on American soil he is an American citizen! Unfortunately, we were not allowed to bring cameras in so we have no pictures.

I have, however, included the much requested pictures of Frankie and Mom, as well as Frankie with his Auntie Charlotte!

We had one last celebratory dinner together and then headed for the room to get ready for bed. We have a 4:00 AM wake up call for the morning. It is going to be a looooonnnnnggggg day!

Before writing my final send-off, I have to thank you all again for your wonderful and very supportive e-mails. I can not express to you how helpful they have been. They make us all feel very loved and a little less homesick. I can't wait to see each and every one of you and neither can Frankie and Auntie.

We'll see you in America!

Love, Kristin
