JANUARY 22nd, 2007
Frankie had his medical appointment for the United States Consulate today.
Waiting for the medical exam
It was a dreadful experience. There were three stations that we had to visit: an ear, nose and throat specialist; a physician; and the weight, height, blood pressure and temperature station. The first two were fine, but the last one was awful! The older kids were too big to be weighed on the baby scales, so we had to go out into the general area where we were swarmed. There was a woman at a desk with a chair in front of her and then about 50 people pushing to be next. They were yelling for me to take off his shoes, coat, etc., and he was whisked onto the scale.... later, there was no place to get him redressed without the pushing.... I am just glad that is over!
Afterward, Auntie Charlotte took him to play in the playroom and then back to watch his favorite show, "The Monkey King" (which, by the way, is positively dreadful.... but he loves it, and he definitely is a monkey!)

I went to do 2 1/2 hours of more paperwork. Our new guide, Elvin, is bringing our paperwork to the consulate in the morning, so we had to get everything ready.
We went to dinner with the group and then did a bit of shopping with Penny, Leland, Auntie and another single mom, Julie, and her daugher, Chloe. The boys were wild. They have had enough of the hotel and enough shopping. The only time Frankie behaved was when he was playing with Chloe. He just loves her! She has an unrepaired cleft lip/palate and he tries to show her his lip all the time. He pats her head and even blows kisses to her which makes her giggle and squeal with delight. Too cute!

Tomorrow we are going to McDonald's and the zoo, so the boys should be happy!
