North Laurel coach Eddie Mahan Jr. started the following lineup: 5-9 So. Gracie McKnight, 5-6 Fr. Bella Sizemore, 6-3 So.Chloe McKnight, 5-7 Jr. Emily Sizemore, and 5-6 Sr. Hailee Valentine.  Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 6-0 Sr. Alex Wolff, 5-11 Sr. Josie Gilvin, 6-3 So. Angelina Pelayo, 5-10 So. Reagan Bender, and 6-0 Fr. ZaKiyah Johnson.

 

Sacred Heart Academy defeated North Laurel by the score of 76-52.  Sacred Heart shot 54% from the field including one of 10 from the free throw line.  The Valkyries connected on seven of nine free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 20 North Laurel turnovers.  North Laurel shot 43.2% from the field including eight of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Jaguars connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 14 points off seven Sacred Heart turnovers.

 

ZaKiyah Johnson led Sacred Heart with 17 points, three rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Angelina Pelayo added 16 points, nine rebounds, three assists, four blocked shots, and three steals.  Alex Wolff recorded 16 points, four rebounds, and two steals.  5-8 So. Claire Russell chipped in with 12 points.  Josie Gilvin recorded four points, seven rebounds, 10 assists, and three steals.

 

Hailee Valentine led North Laurel with 34 points including seven three point baskets, 11 rebounds, and three steals.  Emily Sizemore added six points, two rebounds, and seven assists.  Chloe McKnight recorded six points and two rebounds.

Covington Catholic outscored Beechwood 34-6 in the second quarter on their way to an 82-41 victory.  Covington Catholic shot 62.3% from the field including six of 17 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 10 of 11 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and committed six turnovers.  Beechwood shot 46.9% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Tigers connected on seven of 13 free throws, pulled down 14 rebounds, and committed 19 turnovers.

 

Evan Ipsaro led Covington Catholic with 21 points including three of three free throws, seven assists, and two steals.  Mitchell Rylee added 18 points, nine rebounds, two blocked shots, and four steals.  Kascyl McGillis recorded 15 points on five three point baskets.  Chandler Starks chipped in with six points and six rebounds.

 

Cameron Boyd led Beechwood with 16 points including five of five free throws, three rebounds, and three assists.  Trevor Logue added seven points and four rebounds.  Ty Eviston recorded seven points and two rebounds.

Ballard started the following lineup: 6-5 Jr. Gabe Sisk, 6-1 Sr. Derrick Tilford, 6-10 Sr. Maker Bar, 5-10 So. Chaunte Marrero, and 6-0 Sr. Kaden Stanton.  North Laurel coach Nate Valentine countered with 6-4 Jr. Ryan Davidson, 6-0 So. Brody Brock, 6-2 Sr. Caden Harris, 5-11 Sr. Clay Sizemore, and 6-3 Jr. Reed Sheppard.

 

Ballard pulled away in the final quarter to earn a 97-83 victory over North Laurel in a high scoring shootout in which both teams combined for 34 three point goals.  There were six lead changes and four ties in this game.  Ballard shot 58.1% from the field including 18 of 35 from the three point line.  The Bruins connected on seven of nine free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 16 North Laurel turnovers.  North Laurel shot 45.3% from the field including 16 of 38 from beyond the arc.  The Jaguars connected on nine of 11 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 16 Ballard turnovers.

 

Gabe Sisk led Ballard with 30 points including seven three point baskets, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals.  Maker Bar added 18 points including two three point baskets, 12 rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots, and four steals.  Kaden Stanton recorded 17 points including five three point baskets and five assists. 

 

Clay Sizemore led North Laurel with 18 points on six three point baskets.  Reed Sheppard added 17 points including four three point baskets, six rebounds, seven assists, and eight steals.  6-2 Jr. Chase Dotson recorded 17 points including two three point baskets, and two rebounds.  Ryan Davidson chipped in with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.  Brody Brock added 10 points, three rebounds, and two assists.

Ensworth (TN) led 42-22 early in the third quarter and withstood a late Lexington Catholic rally to earn a 72-62 victory.  Lexington Catholic was unable to find the range from beyond the arc today as they were outscored 24-6 from three point range.  Ensworth shot 50% from the field including eight of 21 from the three point line.  The Tigers connected on 20 of 25 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 48% from the field including two of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 15 Ensworth turnovers.

 

Malik Dia led Ensworth (TN) with 28 points including two three point baskets, 10 of 14 free throws, and seven rebounds.  Nic Hyche added 11 points including four of four free throws, four rebounds, and four assists.  Devaki Garr recorded 11 points including three three point baskets and three assists.  Tony Gaines chipped in with nine points and eight rebounds.

 

Reece Potter led Lexington Catholic with 24 points, eight rebounds, and four blocked shots.  John Reinhart added 16 points including five of six free throws, and six assists.  Jack Gohmann recorded 15 points including five of six free throws, five assists, and three steals.

George Rogers Clark came from behind to defeat Southwestern 62-61 in overtime to earn the championship.  Southwestern raced out to a 13-4 early lead and led 53-49 after three quarters before GRC rallied for the victory.  There were 11 lead changes and eight ties in this game.  Southwestern held a 27-6 advantage in three point points and GRC held a 22-10 advantage in free throws made.  GRC shot 43.2% from the field including two of eight from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 22 of 29 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 13 Southwestern turnovers.  Southwestern shot 40.4% from the field including nine of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Warriors connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 12 GRC turnovers.

 

Ciara Byars led GRC with 23 points including eight of eight free throws, nine rebounds, three blocked shots, and three steals.  Brianna Byars added 19 points, three rebounds, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Tyra Flowers recorded 18 points including nine of nine free throws, eight rebounds, and two steals.

 

Kinsey Molden led Southwestern with 15 points including three three point baskets and two steals.  Kaylee Young added 14 points including four three point baskets, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Payton Acey recorded 12 points, seven rebounds, and two steals.  Ayden Smiddy chipped in with 12 points including six of eight free throws, 10 assists, and two steals.  Makayla Noritis added eight points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Southwestern rallied in the final quarter for a 46-40 come-from-behind victory over Cooper to advance to the championship game.  Southwestern shot 37.8% from the field including five of 14 from the three point line.  The Warriors connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored nine points off 15 Cooper turnovers.  Cooper shot 31.6% from the field including one of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Jaguars connected on 15 of 15 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 15 Southwestern turnovers.

 

Kinsey Molden led Southwestern with 18 points including two three point baskets, eight of eight free throws, two rebounds, and two steals.  Payton Acey added 15 points including four of four free throws, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Ayden Smiddy recorded eight points, four rebounds, and three assists.

 

Whitney Lind led Cooper with 17 points including seven of seven free throws, eight rebounds, three blocked shots, and two steals.  Logan Luebbers Palmer added 14 points including eight of eight free throws, five rebounds, and four steals.  Liz Freihofer recorded six points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
