Beechwood coach Erik Goetz started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Ty Eviston, 5-10 Jr. Cameron Boyd, 6-2 Fr. Mattox Kelly, 5-9 8th Grade Cash Harney, and 5-10 Jr. Trevor Logue. Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz countered with 6-6 Jr. Chandler Starks, 6-2 Sr. Mekhi Wilson, 6-8 Sr. Mitchell Rylee, 5-11 Jr. Evan Ipsaro, and 6-1 Jr. Kascyl McGillis.
Covington Catholic outscored Beechwood 34-6 in the second quarter on their way to an 82-41 victory. Covington Catholic shot 62.3% from the field including six of 17 from the three point line. The Colonels connected on 10 of 11 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and committed six turnovers. Beechwood shot 46.9% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc. The Tigers connected on seven of 13 free throws, pulled down 14 rebounds, and committed 19 turnovers.
Evan Ipsaro led Covington Catholic with 21 points including three of three free throws, seven assists, and two steals. Mitchell Rylee added 18 points, nine rebounds, two blocked shots, and four steals. Kascyl McGillis recorded 15 points on five three point baskets. Chandler Starks chipped in with six points and six rebounds.
Cameron Boyd led Beechwood with 16 points including five of five free throws, three rebounds, and three assists. Trevor Logue added seven points and four rebounds. Ty Eviston recorded seven points and two rebounds.
