Jasmine Borders.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 6-1 Jr. Jalen O’Bannon, 5-10 Sr. Shameekia Murray, 6-1 Sr. Miranda Maples, 5-8 Jr. Alexus Cooper, and 5-10 Jr. Michaela Hunter.

 

Eastern Kentucky University pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Murray State by a score of 72-60.  The score was tied four times and there were 15 lead changes in the game.  Eastern Kentucky shot 44.4% from the field including three of 10 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 52 rebounds, and scored 13 points off nine Murray State turnovers.  Murray State shot 32.9% from the field including five of 28 from beyond the arc.  The Racers connected on nine of 18 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 18 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

Jalen O’Bannon led Eastern Kentucky with 25 points and 12 rebounds.  O’Bannon was nine of 13 from the field and seven of 10 free throws.  Shameekia Murray added 15 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.  Michaela Hunter recorded 14 points and six rebounds.  5-11 Fr. Abby Wright chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds.

SIUE outscored Eastern Kentucky 19-5 in the second quarter on their way to an 89-74 victory.  SIUE shot 51.6% from the field including four of 16 from the three point line.  The Cougars connected on 19 of 24 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 17 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 48.4% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 10 of 16 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 15 SIUE turnovers.

 

Shronda Butts led SIUE with 24 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.  Gwen Adams added 17 points, four rebounds, and three assists.  5-7 Sr. CoCo Moore chipped in with 16 points on eight of ten from the field.  Donshel Beck recorded 10 points, 11 rebounds, and four steals.  5-8 Fr. Amri Wilder also reached double figures with 10 points including two three point baskets.

 

Jalen O’Bannon led Eastern Kentucky with 30 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and three blocked shots.  Alexus Cooper and 5-11 Fr. Western Kentucky went on a 14-2 run in the first quarter to take control of the game in a 76-60 victory over Eastern Kentucky.  Western Kentucky shot 48.2% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line.  The Hilltoppers connected on 16 of 26 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored seven points off 14 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 34.4% from the field including seven of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 11 points off Western Kentucky turnovers.

 

Tashia Brown led Western Kentucky with 23 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.  Kendall Noble added 14 points and six rebounds.  Ivy Brown recorded 12 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists.  Kayla Smith chipped in with eight points.

 

5-11 Fr. Abby Wright led Eastern Kentucky with 14 points.  5-5 Jr. Mariah Massengill added 10 points and four steals.  Shameekia Murray recorded 10 points, four rebounds, and four assists.  Alexus Cooper also scored 10 points.  Jalen O’Bannon recorded eight points and eight rebounds.  Michaela Hunter added seven points, seven rebounds, and two steals.
