Okawville vs. Illini Bluffs Class 1A Championship

Okawville coach Haylee Bowers started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Alayna Kraus, 5-7 Sr. Adysen Harre, 5-8 So. Caroline Tepe, 5-6 Sr. Madisyn Wienstroer, and 5-7 Sr. Raelyn Obermeier. Illini Bluffs coach Jim Belville countered with 5-10 Sr. Marissa Robertson, 5-10 Sr. Lily Luczkowiak, 6-0 Sr. Reese Cruit, 5-6 Sr. Brooke Buchen, and 5-6 Sr. Annabelle Fortin.

Okawville outscored Ilini Bluffs 17-6 in the third quarter to take control on their way to a 48-36 victory. Okawville shot 42.4% from the field including five of 14 from the three point line. The Lady Rockets connected on 15 of 16 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 10 Illini Bluffs turnovers. Illini Bluffs shot 44.4% from the field including three of eight from beyond the arc. The Tigers connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 17 rebounds, and scored nine points off seven Okawville turnovers.

Alayna Kraus led Okawville with 33 points including two three point baskets, 13 of 14 free throws, four rebounds, and three steals. Caroline Tepe added six points on two three point baskets, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Madisyn Wienstroer recorded four points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

Annabelle Fortin led Illini Bluffs with 13 points including three three point baskets, and two rebounds. Lily Luczkowiak added 12 points and nine rebounds. 5-11 So. Chloe Eeten recorded four points, four rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots.

Nashville coach Dempsey White started the following lineup: 5-11 Fr. Samantha Brinkmann, 5-9 Fr. Avery Reeder, 5-11 Fr. Summer Brinkmann, 5-9 Fr. Makayla Gajewski, and 5-10 So. Emma Behrmann. Notre Dame coach Layne Langholf countered with 5-11 Jr. Kaitlin Cassidy, 5-6 Jr. Julia Mingus, 6-1 So. Lexi Baer, 5-7 Sr. Mya Wardle, and 5-9 Fr. Emy Wardle.

Emy Wardle hit a runner with 1.3 seconds left on the clock to give Notre Dame a 48-46 victory over Nashville. There were five ties and four lead changes in this game. Notre Dame shot 48.5% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line. The Irish connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 12 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 11 Nashville turnovers. Nashville shot 53.3% from the field including three of eight from beyond the arc. The Hornettes connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored five points off six Notre Dame turnovers.

Emy Wardle led Notre Dame with 18 points including six of nine free throws, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Mya Wardle added 10 points including three of four free throws, and two assists. Kaitlin Cassidy recorded nine points and four rebounds. Julia Mingus chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets, and two steals.

Emma Behrmann led Nashville with 14 points including three of four free throws, and five rebounds. Samantha Brinkmann added 12 points including six of eight free throws, three rebounds, six assists, and three steals. Summer Brinkmann recorded nine points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. 5-3 Sr. Abby Knepp chipped in with six points on two three point baskets. Makayla Gajewski recorded five points and five rebounds.

Lincoln vs. Chatham (Glenwood) Class 3A Championship

Lincoln coach Taylor Rohrer started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Becca Heitzig, 5-8 Sr. Tori Geriets, 5-9 Sr. Kloe Froebe, 5-6 Sr. Taryn Stoltzenburg, and 5-6 Sr. Jenna Bowman. Glenwood coach Alyssa Riley countered with 5-9 Sr. Makenna Yeager, 5-7 Fr. Ava Bobb, 6-0 Fr. Alexis Neumann, 5-4 Sr. Karley Hawkins, and 5-6 Jr. Katelyn Lehnen.

Lincoln defeated Glenwood 60-44 to finish the season at 38-0. Lincoln raced out to a 26-6 first quarter lead and was never threatened in this game. Lincoln shot 58.3% from the field including three of seven from the three point line. The Rail Splitters connected on 15 of 23 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 16 Glenwood turnovers. Glenwood shot 45.9% from the field including seven of 17 from beyond the arc. The Titans connected on three of five free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored 15 points off nine Lincoln turnovers.

Kloe Froebe led Lincoln with 36 points including 14 of 19 free throws, five rebounds, six assists, one blocked shot, and four steals. Becca Heitzig added 13 points and five rebounds.

Alex Neumann led Glenwood with 15 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, and one blocked shot. Makenna Yeager added nine points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, five assists, and two steals. 5-7 Jr. Rowann Law recorded eight points including two three point baskets. Katelyn Lehnen chipped in with six points and two assists.

Loyola Academy trailed Nazareth 25-17 at halftime but outscored the Roadrunners 15-2 in the third quarter on their way to a 44-40 victory. Loyola Academy finished the season at 38-0. Loyola Academy shot 42.4% from the field including seven of 19 from the three point line. The Ramblers connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 17 Nazareth turnovers. Nazareth shot 51.6% from the field including two of 14 from beyond the arc. The Roadrunners connected on six of six free throws, pulled down 17 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 15 Loyola Academy turnovers.

Paige Engels led Loyola Academy with 17 points including three three point baskets, four of six free throws, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Aubrey Galvan added 15 points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Kelsey Langston recorded seven points including two three point baskets, and four rebounds.

Olivia Austin led Nazareth with 16 points on seven of eight field goals and two of two free throws, four rebounds, and two assists. Stella Sakalas added 16 points including three of three free throws, and three rebounds. Danielle Scully recorded two points, five rebounds, and two assists.

Knoxville Webb vs. Knoxville Catholic (Girls) Division II Class AA (Championship)

Knoxville Webb coach Greg Hernandez started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Brooklyn Bush, 5-8 So. Meeyah Green, 6-1 8^th Grade Kyndall Mays, 5-4 Sr. Katelyn Overton, and 5-6 Fr. Cailyn Taylor. Knoxville Catholic coach Travis Mains countered with 5-11 Jr. Amaya Redd, 5-10 Jr. Margaret Frana, 6-0 Sr. Caroline Krueger, 5-10 Jr. Tinsley Walker, and 5-10 Sr. Sydney Mains.

Knoxville Catholic defeated Knoxville Webb 53-39 to capture back to back championships but it did not come easy. Catholic star Sydney Mains was hampered by foul woes today as she was whistled for her fourth foul with 4:51 remaining in the third quarter but her teammates came up big. Knoxville Catholic shot 53.6% from the field including seven of 13 from the three point line. The Fighting Irish connected on 16 of 22 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored nine points off 13 Knoxville Webb turnovers. Knoxville Webb shot 28.6% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc. The Spartans connected on seven of seven free throws, pulled down 16 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 26 Knoxville Catholic turnovers.

Amaya Redd led Knoxville Catholic with 17 points including nine of 14 free throws, nine rebounds, and two assists. Sydney Mains added 16 points including three three point baskets, five of six free throws, five rebounds, and two assists. Tinsley Walker recorded nine points on three three point baskets. Caroline Krueger chipped in with four points, six rebounds, and two steals. Margaret Frana added four points, nine rebounds, and two steals.

Meeyah Green led Knoxville Webb with 12 points including three of three free throws, four rebounds, and three assists. Kyndall Mays added eight points and two rebounds. Katelyn Overton recorded seven points, three rebounds, and two assists.

Briarcrest Christian School defeated Brentwood Academy by the score of 80-71. Briarcrest Christian School shot 67.4% from the field including three of four from the three point line. The Saints connected on 19 of 22 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored four points off four Brentwood Academy turnovers. Brentwood Academy shot 45.3% from the field including 12 of 29 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 14 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 10 Briarcrest Christian School turnovers.

Fred Smith led Briarcrest Christian School with 29 points, 15 rebounds, and three assists. Smith was 12 of 14 from the field and five of six from the free throw line. Cooper Haynes added 24 points including nine of 10 free throws, and two rebounds. Jackson Grisham recorded 11 points and five rebounds. 5-10 Fr. Greg Spight chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, and two assists.

Tyler Tanner led Brentwood Academy with 22 points including two three point baskets, six of six free throws, and six assists. University School of Jackson defeated Goodpasture Christian School 70-58 in a triple overtime game. In which there were 13 lead changes and 10 ties. Haylen Ayers hit clutch shots to get them into the overtime periods then took over in the final frame. University School of Jackson shot 40% from the field including 11 of 21 from the three point line. The Bruins connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored four points off seven Goodpasture Christian School turnovers. Goodpasture Christian School shot 35.6% from the field including five of 22 from beyond the arc. The Cougars connected on 11 of 15 from the free throw line, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 17 University School of Jackson turnovers.

Haylen Ayers led University School of Jackson with 30 points including three three point baskets, nine of 12 free throws, 12 rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Lilly Teague added 16 points including five three point baskets, and four rebounds. Ellen Driver recorded eight points and seven rebounds. Sophie King chipped in with seven points and four rebounds. 5-10 Sr. Ava Barham recorded four points, 17 rebounds, and two assists.

La’zaviona Hawkins led Goodpasture Christian School with 19 points including nine of 11 free throws, three rebounds, and four steals. Marcellous Jackson scored in the lane in the closing seconds to give First Assembly Christian School a 57-55 victory over Providence Christian Academy. First Assembly Christian School outscored Providence Academy 18-4 in the last quarter. There were five lead changes and two ties in this game. FAC shot 47.6% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line. The Crusaders connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 12 PCA turnovers. PCA shot 51.2% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc. The Lions connected on seven of 11 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 11 points off nine FAC turnovers.

Marcellous Jackson led First Assembly Christian School with 19 points including five of seven free throws, two rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Martechio Hayes added 15 points and two rebounds. Kristopher Carrol recorded 11 points including three three point baskets and two rebounds. Jacob Walker chipped in with nine points including three of four free throws, six rebounds, and five steals.

Judson Bjornstad led Providence Christian Academy with 19 points, five rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and two steals. 6-7 So. Tates Creek shot 41.3% from the field including three of 15 from beyond the arc. The Commodores connected on 20 of 26 free throws, pulled down 16 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 12 Lafayette turnovers.

Tyler Hunt led Lafayette with 14 points including six of six free throws, 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Yashiro Hurst added 13 points including four of six free throws, two rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Covington Holy Cross shot 48.8% from the field including five of nine from the three point line. The Indians connected on 11 of 19 free throws, pulled down 14 rebounds, and committed 12 turnovers. Pikeville shot 40.8% from the field including eight of 22 from beyond the arc. The Lady Panthers connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and committed 12 turnovers.

Lanesville vs. Marquette Catholic (Class 1A Championship)

Lanesville coach Angie Hinton started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Hadley Crosier, 5-7 Jr. Hylton Brumley, 5-10 Sr. Ellie Schneider, 5-5 Sr. Eva Kerr, and 5-6 Sr. Emma Davis. Marquette Catholic coach Katie Collignon countered with 5-11 Jr. Natalie Robinson, 5-7 Fr. Marissa Pleasant, 6-0 Jr. Livia Balling, 5-4 Jr. Jiselle Chabes, and 5-7 So. Laniah Davis.

Lanesville pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Marquette Catholic by the score of 51-43. Marquette got off to a fast start as Marissa Pleasant connected on three quick three point baskets to give the Blazers a 9-2 lead and to make matters worse for Lanesville star Hadley Crosier went down late in the first quarter with a leg injury and was unable to return. Lanesville led 27-26 at halftime but Marquette Catholic rallied to take a 33-31 lead after three quarters. However Lanesville was able to finish strong down the stretch to earn the victory. The future looks bright for Marquette Catholic as all six players who saw action today are slated to return next season.

Lanesville shot 33.3% from the field including three of 20 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on 14 of 18 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 24 Marquette Catholic turnovers. Marquette Catholic shot 37.8% from the field including three of eight from beyond the arc. The Blazers connected on six of 13 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored eight points off nine Lanesville turnovers.

6-1 Jr. Shelby Allen led Lanesville with 20 points including four of five free throws and seven rebounds. Hylton Brumley added 15 points including eight of nine free throws. Emma Davis recorded five points and two assists and Ava Kerr dished out four assists.

Laniah Davis led Marquette Catholic with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Marissa Pleasant added 13 points including three three point baskets and three rebounds. Livia Balling recorded 12 points and 12 rebounds.

There were seven lead changes and four ties in this game. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers shot 46.9% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 10 of 18 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Browntown Central turnovers. Brownstown Central shot 31.7% from the field including two of 22 from beyond the arc. The Braves connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored nine points off 15 Fort Wayne Bishop Luers turnovers.

Miley Wareing led Fort Wayne Bishop Luers with 17 points including five of seven free throws, 10 rebounds, and two steals. The Titans connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 Norwell turnovers. Norwell shot 38.7% from the field including three of 14 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 25 Gibson Southern turnovers.

Chloey Graham led Gibson Southern with 22 points including six three point baskets, three rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Gabby Spink added 17 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, and six assists. Paige Schnaus recorded 12 points, 16 rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Newport Central Catholic coach Dan Albrinck started the following lineup: 5-5 Sr. Emma Beck, 5-0 Sr. Delaney Green, 5-9 Jr. Jaylee Brannen, 5-4 Jr. Caroline Eaglin, and 5-4 Jr. Madison Wherry-McFarland. Great Crossing coach Matt Walls countered with 5-11 Sr. Ava Schureman, 5-7 Sr. Olivia Tierney, 6-1 Jr. Kennedy Harrison, 5-3 8^th Grade Kendall Kearney, and 5-6 Jr. Jaelle Henderson.

Great Crossing withstood a late rally to defeat Newport Central Catholic by the score of 47-42. Great Crossing shot 36.7% from the field including four of 16 from the three point line. The Lady Warhawks connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 22 Newport Central Catholic turnovers. Newport Central Catholic shot 31.9% from the field including six of 24 from beyond the arc. They connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 14 Great Crossing turnovers.

Olivia Tierney led Great Crossing with 20 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and two assists. Ava Schureman added 11 points, four rebounds, and four steals. 5-5 Fr. Nia Carr added six points, four rebounds, and three steals. Kennedy Harrison recorded five points, 11 rebounds, five blocked shots, and two steals. Jaelle Henderson chipped in with five points and four rebounds.

Caroline Eaglin led Newport Central Catholic with 22 points including four three point baskets, five rebounds, and two assists. 5-5 Fr. Brooklyn Cole added 10 points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, and two assists. Emma Beck recorded four points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots. 5-10 Fr. Alaina Albrinck added two points and 10 rebounds.
