Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Peyton Pelphrey, 6-2 So. Jack Gohmann, 6-2 Sr. Jackson Smith, 6-1 Jr. Ryan Russell, and 6-3 Jr. Ben Johnson. Scott County coach Tim Glenn countered with 6-4 Jr. Elias Richardson, 6-1 Jr. Mikaleb Coffey, 6-6 Sr. Terrin Hamilton, 5-10 Jr. Chase Grigsby, and 6-0 Sr. Aaron Leake.
Lexington Catholic defeated Scott County by a score of 62-49. Lexington Catholic led 41-30 at halftime but Scott County outscored the Knights 12-3 in the third quarter to pull within two; 44-42 after three quarters. Lexington Catholic regained momentum in the final quarter and pulled away for the victory. The score was tied twice and there were two lead changes in the game. Lexington Catholic shot 47.1% from the field including two of 11 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 21 Scott County turnovers. Scott County shot 34.7% from the field including six of 22 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals connected on nine of 17 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored nine points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Ben Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 28 points including two three point baskets, 13 rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Ryan Russell added 11 points and four steals. Jack Gohmann recorded eight points and four assists. Peyton Pelphrey chipped in with six points and eight rebounds. Jackson Smith added six points, six rebounds, and two assists.
Chase Grigsby led Scott County with 12 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals. Terrin Hamilton added 11 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots. Elias Richardson recorded 10 points and nine rebounds. Aaron Leake added 10 points and four rebounds.
