Beckley Prep started the following lineup: 6-4 Lavric Mongala, 6-4 JJ Eubanks, 6-9 Kevin Siakam, Kalifa Muhamad, and 6-1 Angel Torres.  Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz countered with 6-5 Fr. Chandler Starks, 6-4 So. Colin McHale, 6-5 Sr. Neil Green, 6-0 Sr. Grant Disken, and 6-3 Jr. Donovan Stocks.

Covington Catholic led 38-37 at the half and pulled away after the intermission to defeat Beckley Prep by a score of 71-60.  Covington Catholic shot 53.5% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 19 of 24 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and committed 14 turnovers.  Beckley Prep shot 46.5% from the field including seven of 17 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and committed 16 turnovers.

Grant Disken led Covington Catholic with 17 points including four of four free throws and five assists.  Neil Green added 16 points on eight of 10 from the field.  Donovan Stocks recorded12 points including two three point baskets and four of four free throws.  Chandler Starks chipped in with nine points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  7-1 Sr. Noah Hupmann pulled down seven rebounds and blocked four shots. 

Lavric Mongala led Beckley Prep with 18 points including five of five from the free throw line and three steals.  6-1 Fahmir Ali added 13 points including two three point baskets, five assists, and two steals.  JJ Eubanks recorded nine points on three three point baskets.  Kevin Siakam added nine points and five rebounds.

Walt Smith.  Frederick Douglass Kurt Young countered with 6-1 Sr. Jaylan Green, 6-0 Sr. Aidan Reid, 6-5 Sr. Bilal Chhadh, 5-8 Jr. Khamri McMullen, and 5-8 Sr. Jarvis Byrd.

Frederick Douglass defeated Madison Southern by a score of 80 – 66.  Douglass led by 21 points midway through the second quarter but Madison Southern battled back to within six points; 67-61 with 5:05 left in the game.  Madison Southern missed several free throws down the stretch and Douglass finished the game on a 13-5 run.  Douglass shot 51.9% from the field including 10 of 24 from the three point line.  The Broncos connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 26 Madison Southern turnovers.  Madison Southern shot 40% from the field including six of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on 20 of 29 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 21 Douglass turnovers.

Jaylan Green led Douglass with 22 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and six steals.  Aidan Reid added 16 points including four three point baskets.  6-1 Jr. DaShawn Jackson recorded 10 points, five rebounds, and five assists.  6-2 Jr. Julius Scearce chipped in with nine points, three rebounds, and three steals.  Jarvis Byrd added eight points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

Woodford County led 44-33 in the third quarter but had to survive a furious Scott County rally to earn a 67-65 victory.  The score was tied six times and there were three lead changes in the game.  Woodford County shot 58.5% from the field including five of 11 from the three point line.  The Yellow Jackets connected on 14 of 26 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 11 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 43.8% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 19 of 20 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 Woodford County turnovers.

Jared Courtney led Woodford County with 19 points including three three point baskets.  Hunter Penn added 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Anthony Tabor recorded nine points and three assists.  Riley Gardner chipped in with seven points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots.

East Central defeated Scott County 63-53 in overtime in a game that had its share of drama.  East Central outscored Scott County 21-11 in the second quarter to take a 32-24 lead at halftime.  Morgan DeFoor a star guard for Scott County did not rejoin her team after the intermission but Scott County rallied to force overtime but East Central outscored the Lady Cardinals 11-1 in overtime for the victory.  The score was tied six times and there were 10 lead changes in the game. 

East Central shot 44.4% from the field including five of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Trojans connected on 18 of 33 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 12 points off seven Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 31.7% from the field including eight of 30 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 15 East Central turnovers.  Scott County was whistled for 25 fouls while East Central only had 12 fouls.  East Central attempted 33 free throws while Scott County only visited the charity stripe 12 times.

Brilan McCory led East Central with 20 points including two three point baskets, 10 of 16 free throws, eight rebounds, and two assists.  Josie Trabel added 17 points and seven rebounds.  Kyla Maxwell recorded 10 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Charsan McCory added seven points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Kenady Tompkins led Scott County with 16 points including two three point baskets and 12 rebounds.  Malea Williams added 15 points including two three point baskets, 13 rebounds, seven blocked shots, and three steals.  Kennon Owens chipped in with nine points, five assists, and three steals.
