Eastern Kentucky University coach AW Hamilton started the following lineup: 6-8 Jr. Darius Hicks, 6-3 Sr. Ty Taylor, 6-8 So. Tre King, 6-2 Jr. Jacquess Hobbs, and 6-2 So. Jomaru Brown.  Northern Kentucky University coach Darrin Horn countered with 6-6 Sr. Dantez Walton, 6-3 So. Trevon Faulkner, 6-8 Jr. Silas Adheke, 5-9 So. Bryson Langdon, and 6-0 Sr. Tyler Sharpe.

 

The score was tied 35-35 at halftime but Northern Kentucky shot a sizzling 70.8% from the field in the second half to earn a 76-57 victory.  There were eight lead changes and six ties in this game.  Northern Kentucky shot 58.3% from the field including eight of 22 from the three point line.  The Norse connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 38.3% from the field including nine of 26 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on two of six free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 21 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

Dantez Walton led Northern Kentucky with 18 points including three three point baskets, nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Trevon Faulkner added 18 points, six rebounds, and seven assists.  Bryson Langdon recorded 14 points including two three point baskets and four assists. Tyler Sharpe chipped in with 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists.  6-7 So. Adrian Nelson added 10 points and four rebounds.

 

Ty Taylor led Eastern Kentucky with 14 points including four three point baskets.  Jacquess Hobbs and Tre King each scored seven points and Darius Hicks pulled down six rebounds.

McCracken County defeated Lexington Christian Academy by a score of 52-36.  McCracken County shot 34.9% from the field including seven of 19 from the three point line.  The Mustangs connected on 15 of 22 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored six points off six Lexington Christian Academy turnovers.  Lexington Christian Academy shot 29.3% from the field including five of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on seven of 11 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored seven points off nine McCracken County turnovers.

 

Jackson Sivills led McCracken County with 12 points including two three point baskets, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Noah Dumas added 10 points and four assists.  Ramon Heard recorded seven points and 12 rebounds.  Ian McCune chipped in with nine points and four rebounds.  6-5 So. Ian Hart added eight points and Ronnie Jones tallied six points and six rebounds.

 

Tanner Walton led LCA with 14 points, four rebounds, and three assists.  Ezekiel Greer added 10 points including two three point baskets.

Madisonville-North Hopkins coach started the following lineup: 6-7 Sr. Kenny White, 6-5 Sr. Dejuan Johnson, 6-9 Sr. Ksaun Casey, 5-10 Sr. Keshawn Stone, and 5-11 Sr. Marquise Parker.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-4 Sr. Peyton Pelfrey, 6-4 So. Jack Gohmann, 6-2 Sr. Jackson Smith, 6-3 Jr. Ben Johnson, and 6-4 Sr. Luke Wedding.

 

Peyton Pelfrey scored on a put back on an air ball at the buzzer to give Lexington Catholic a 67-65 overtime victory over Madisonville-North Hopkins.  There were seven lead changes and 11 ties in this classic which featured Lexington Catholic’s three point attack against the inside strength of Madisonville-North Hopkins.  Fouls plagued Madisonville as Kenny White fouled out while Dejuan Johnson and Ksaun Casey were saddled with four fouls.

 

Lexington Catholic shot 46% from the field including seven of 24 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 14 of 16 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 14Madisonville-North Hopkins turnovers.  Madisonville-North Hopkins shot 59.5% from the field including three of seven from beyond the arc.  The Maroons connected on 12 of 19 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 12 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Tournament MVP led Ben Johnson with 36 points including three three point baskets, seven of seven free throws, and pulled down four rebounds.  Jack Gohmann added 14 points including two three point baskets and four assists.  Luke Wedding recorded eight points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Jackson Smith was the unsung hero for Lexington Catholic as he made several key “hustle plays” that resulted in rebounds, changes of possessions, and defensive stops.

 

Big man Ksaun Casey was unstoppable tonight as he recorded 25 points and nine rebounds.  Casey was 10 of 11 from the field and five of eight from the free throw line.  Keshawn Stone added 15 points including three three point baskets and four rebounds.  Dejuan Johnson recorded 10 points and Marquise Parker chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, and four assists.  Kenny White recorded seven points, four rebounds, five assists, two blocked shots, and three steals.

Woodford County outscored Dixie Heights 20-9 in the first quarter on their way to a 54-47 victory over Dixie Heights.  Woodford County shot 50% from the field including six of 10 from the three point line.  The Yellow Jackets connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 10 Dixie Heights turnovers.  Dixie Heights shot 45.9% from the field including three of eight from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 10 of 16 free throws, pulled down 16 rebounds, and scored eight points off 12 Woodford County turnovers.

 

Hunter Penn led Woodford County with 16 points, five rebounds, and two assists.  Penn was seven of eight from the field and two of three free throws.  Ashton Myles-Devore added 15 points including three three point baskets.  Anthony Tabor recorded 12 points including two three point baskets and six assists.

 

Keirnan Geraci led Dixie Heights with 23 points including six of six free throws and five rebounds.  Jacob Iames added 10 points including two three point baskets.  Ian Snelling recorded nine points, four rebounds, and two assists.

Morgan Flanagan led St. Henry with 22 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Katie Evans added 10 points, eight rebounds, and five steals.  5-5 Fr. Amanda Schuleter recorded 10 points and four assists.  Abby Millay chipped in with seven points and five rebounds.

6-0 Fr. Sereniti Webb, 5-6 Sr. Maggi Jones, and 5-9 Sr. Mattie Vickers.  Christian Academy of Louisville coach Cameron Pridemore countered with 6-0 Sr. Shelby Calhoun, 5-9 Jr. Sydney Raque, 5-10 Jr. Alexa Breedlove, 5-7 So. Jaya McClure, and 5-8 Sr. Mia Beam.

 

Christian Academy of Louisville captured the championship with a hard fought 49-46 victory over Simon Kenton.  The score was tied twice and there were four lead changes in the game.  CAL shot 42.5% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Centurions connected on 11 of 19 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 13 Simon Kenton turnovers.  Simon Kenton shot 40.4% from the field including six of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Pioneers connected on two of six free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 14 CAL turnovers.

 

Shelby Calhoun , who was named Tournament MVP, led CAL with 14 points, nine rebounds, , four assists, and three steals.  Jaya McClure added 13 points including six of six free throws, seven rebounds, two blocked shots, and three steals. Alexa Breedlove chipped in with nine points.

 

Sereniti Webb led Simon Kenton with 15 points and three steals.  Morgan Stamper added 10 points, 10 rebounds, and three steals.  Maggi Jones recorded nine points, five rebounds, and three steals.  Mattie Vickers chipped in with six points and six rebounds.
