The episode is about a rich entrepreneur Bob Rickman who possesses the power of pursuation. He gets what ever he wants everytime he shake someones hand. It began 12 years ago when he and his best friend Kyle Tippitt was hit by meteor in a car during the meteor shower. Both Kyle and Bob possesses the same power.

Their frindship didn't last long after the insident. Rickman became rich because his power of pursuation and Kyle hides away from civilization by living in the forest by himself for many years because he is afraid about his unique gift. Clark, Lana and Chloe was at the forest where Kyle lives. While on their way, Lana went back to get Chloe's camcorder which she drops on the road. Kyle scared off the horse that Lana was riding on and ended up injuring Lana. Without any bad intentions, he was accused for being a bad person. Later that night, Clark went to Kyle's trailer house in the woods to talk to him abut what happened. Clark finds out that he is actually a nice guy but everyone else things different about him.

Bob Rickman who owns a pesticide industry visits the town of smallville to look for a place to build for his new plantation. He picked the Kent farm to build it in. Lex warned him that the Kent't wouldn't sell the farm especially to someone like him. Rickman has another plans to make the Kent's sell the farm to him, by using his power. He went to the Kent farm to speak with Jonathan about him buying the place. Offcourse, he said no. With a good act, Rickman was able to take Jonathan's hand and use his powers to do what he desires. Jonathan signed the paper and there is a little thing they could do to stop Rickman from having the the farm.

Whitney is very upset about what happened. He saw Clark with Kyle outside the Beanery and he just went off threatning Kyle and telling him to leave Lana alone. It also so happens that Kyle's old best friend, Bob Rickman overheard Whitney's discussion with Kyle. Since Kyle knows about Rickman's secrets, he wants to get rid of him by using Whitney. He shook Whitney's hand and told him to get rid of Kyle. Later, Clark gave Kyle a ride home after buying some groceries. When Clark was on his way home he saw Whitney's truck parked not far from where Kyle lives. Clark quickly went off to see what Whitney is up to. When he got there, Clark saw that Kyle is giving Whitney a beating. He uses his superpowers to save Whitney. Although it wasn't what it looks like. Whitney is not himself that night because of what Rickman did to him but Kyle was arrested and was taken to jail.

Clark believes that Kyle is not the one responsible on what happened. Lana got mad at him for thinking that he is on Kyle's side instead of Whitney. Rickman is still not satisfied that Kyle is on jail. He wants him dead by using his power on a cop. He now controls this cop and sent him to take care of Kyle for him. Kyle was taken out by this cop and tried to shoot him. Clark was there but he wasn't quick enough to save his friend. Kyle was hit by a bullet but Clark uses his speed to take him to the Luthor Mansion to aid Kyle.

Next, Rickman uses Lex Luthor to take care of Kyle and Clark. Since the beginning, he was having trouble on getting to hold Lex's hand. Finally he tricked Lex on shaking hands together. Lex met with Clark and Kyle at the Route 7 gas station. Lex locked the two in his car and burning it with gas. Clark uses his powers to get out and save his life and Kyle's. Bob arrives the scene and he knows Lex didn't finished the job. He gave Lex a gun. Clark was hit several times but the bullets doesn't even hurt him much. Kyle saw the whole thing and now knows that Clark also has some special gifts.

Kyle confronts his old friend and ended up killing him. Now that Rickman is out of the way, Lex is in his own self again but he doesn't remember a thing on what happened. Kyle on the other hand knows about Clark's secrets but he would keep to himself. Everything turn out great in the end. The Kents will still have the farm and Lana said sorry to Clark and that she would again wants to be friends with him.
