REAL LIFE: Tom Welling was born in New York. He also spent time in Michigan, Deleware and Wisconsin. He graduated in 1995 at Okemos High School in Michigan. After high school, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a professional career. He had been in few plays in school but his first big break came when he landed a role in the TV series Judging Amy where he had 6 episodes before landing a new career role in the new WB hit Smallville.

HIS CHARACTER: Tom Welling plays the main role in Smallville. He is Clark Kent, a 15 year old teenager with special gifts from the meteor shower 12 years ago. He is an orphan and being raised by Jonathan and Martha Kent who owns a farm in Smallville. His gifts are secrets between with his parents but it won't be for long.
