Are things starting to heat up? Need a bit more fire in your life? Then perhaps you could consider purchasing a flamethrower. Shorter ranged than most weapons, what they lack for in range they make up for in sheer destructiveness. There is however warnings attached to most flamethrowers concerning over use of flamethrowers in confined spaces. Don't get burnt playing with fire.

Though there is a large variety of flame throwers available on the market, they virtually all fall into the same sort of specifications. The following list gives a variety of flame throwers available on the black market, along with any details required with them. Here's how to work out what all that information given for each flamethrower means:

Size: Size of the flamethrower.

Cost: Cost of the flamethrower.

Availability: How common the flamethrower is.

Canister Points: How many canisters/backpack ports can be attached to the flamethrower (see fuel canisters below).

Range: How far the Flame reaches from the Flamethrower.

Spread: Whether the weapon fires a Single straight jet of flame, a Broad wide angle of flame or if it has a Variable spread nozzle (in which case, range will have a set of values of minimum and maximum).

Usage: How much fuel the flamethrower uses in Litres in one shot.

Other Details: Any other details of importance.

Canisters and Backpacks

Canisters to hold Flamethrower fuel come in several different shapes and forms. The smaller one's, meant for Pistol size flamethrowers and some rifles, will attach directly to the gun. Larger versions of canisters however may need to be carried on the belt or on the back of the person using the weapon. As well as buying the flamethrower, one will need to buy the canisters to hold the fuel within and the fuel itself (see in a minute). The list below gives details of several different sizes of Cansiter, their cost, availability and whether they come gun mounted, belt mounted or back mounted.

The following are all backmounted but have two seperate canisters instead of one. Each canister holds the same amount and connects to two canister points in flame thrower:

These next canisters are also backmounted but have three canisters, each holding the same volume and connecting to three canister points.

Some fuels are listed as being gases. To hold a gaseous fuel, you need to add five credits to the canister cost per canister point it can connect to. The canister cannot hold normal fuels once this modification is done, but will able to hold gases.

Flame Fuels

The final costs that have to met with flamethrowers is the cost of the fuel. The list below gives details of a variety of different fuels that can be used inside a flamethrower. The cost's given is for one litre on flame thrower fuel.

Standard Fuel
Cost: 1 credit
Availability: Common
Description: Standard flame thrower fuels are just that, the standard mix. In truth, what constitute a standard flame thrower fuel mix varies dramatically as on the Black Market it tends to get made out of a assortment of household products. This will give you a really nice flame that will ignite stuff but no other real properties than that.

Super Napalm
Cost: 5 credits
Availability: Common
Description: A vicious product cooked up by Black Market chemists, it has seen quite a high populatity in use. Super Napalm sticks to objects, clothes and skins like superglue, even while lit. Incredibly hard to put out, jumping in water won't even douse it.

Standard Gas
Cost: 3
Availability: Common
Description: Household gas pumped into a Gas canister makes for an incredibly hot mixture that is also very light to carry. The range on standard gas alone is twice what the flamethrower would normally be able to project. This is a gaseous fuel naturally.

Magnesium Fuel
Cost: 10 credits
Availability: Common
Description: This has elements of magnesium added into the mixture, meaning that not only does the fuel get very hot, but it also burns very brightly. Anyone who looks at a magnesium fuel flame unprotected is likely to at the very least dazed by the light, if not suffering permanant eye damage.

Flame Rain
Cost: 20 credits
Availability: Rare
Description: This gaseous fuel produces a cloud that rises upto the height of about 3-4 metres above the ground (or ceiling height). While this cloud in itself is aflame itself, what makes it worse is that the cloud has a duration of about 10-20 seconds during which hot flamming liquid drops from this cloud onto anyone below it.

Toxic Gas
Cost: 12 credits
Availability: Rare
Description: A Gaseous fuel once again which not only has twice the range of normal fuels, but is also highly toxic, both cooking and choking anyone caught in it's path.

Electrolite Fuel
Cost: 30 credits
Availability: Rare
Description: This fuel upon contact with flame starts off inside itself a electro-chemical reaction, causing the area in which the flames hit to also be charged with high levels of electrical power. Very useful for knocking out electronic items and cybernetic componants as well as electricuting anyone it touches.

Non-Flammable Fuels

Who knows when the first bright spark came up with the idea, but it has been realised that a flame thrower could be used to dispense liquids other than flammable ones by simply changing the fuel type and turning of the guns ignition flame. The following fuels are non-flammable but can still fired through a flamethrower.

Anti-Defoilant
Cost: 4 credits
Availability: Common
Description: Often used with small gardening sprays to kill weeds, this concentrated form will in seconds kill any plant life caught in the spray of the gun, breaking it down into decaying matter. Even trees twist and melt under concentration of this liquid.

Foam
Cost: 5 credits
Availability: Common
Description: Great for parties, even better for putting fires out as this thick foam smoothers any areas currently aflame.

Slick
Cost: 3 credits
Availability: Common
Description: Basically made from a variety of household goods, this fuel covers a floor area with a very slippy sustance, making it hard for some people to be able to keep a good footing.

Immobiliser Glue
Cost: 15 credits
Availability: Rare
Description: A very strong glue like substance that once coated over a surface, makes anything it touches hard to pull apart. Not only would opponants stick to the floor, but also can be used to prevent less powerful wheeled vehicles from moving.
