Set in a different version of Earth, Final Fantasy VII is widely renowned as the greatest RPG ever. I personally agree. The story is centred around a 21 year old man named Cloud Strife, who, after previously working for a multi-million gill company called Shinra, joins a rebel faction, and soon he begins to find that his past is not all that it seems.

Shinra Inc. was originally owned by President Shinra. But a short way through the game he is killed, and the company is taken over by his son, Rufus. Rufus is a hard man who has never been seen upset, or shed a tear. When you first meet him he gives you a short speech, and then you have to fight him.

When the gaming phenomenom that was Final Fantasy VII hit the shops, I have to say that I was not really interested. But, as I gradually heard more about it, my interest grew with it. Eventually I went out and bought it in 1998. As soon as I sat down, I was immersed in its gripping storyline and entertaining characters. But the sheer brilliance of the game did not hit me until iI had actually completed it. I had nothing else to do. I hadn't realised before that the game was all that I was doing. Every day I would wake up and go on Final Fantasy VII. It was amazing. I had never played a game that had gripped my attention quite like that. So far I never have again, either. That is why I have dedicated a page to the game that started the Final Fantasy frenzy in Britain, Final Fantasy VII.

Of course, not everyone is aware that Final Fantasy VII is such a game. Many, in fact, believe it to be a poor game, even though they have not played it, simply because of the in-game graphics. The whole point of a game is to entertain you, and Final Fantasy VII does this almost perfectly, with an emersing storyline and in-depth histories of the characters. Each individual character has a unique and origonal past, which has to be explored for the game to continue.

The Shinra corporation is draining our planet of its life-forces. Cloud Strife, a cold-hearted mercenary, accepts a mission from a group of eco-warriors, unaware that it will lead him on a journey that will change not just his life, but the lives of every soul in the Universe...
