Final Fantasy VIII was possibly the most eagerly anticipated game ever. It had an almost impossible task to achieve- it had to be better than Final Fantasy VII. Astonishingly, there is still a debate about whether or not it managed to do this. In my opinion, it failed by the narrowest of narrow margins. It is still an astonishing game, though. The graphics were improved and the spells at your disposal are still some of the best in the world.

From the stunning intro sequence right up to the final credits, the game just won't let you go and you will be aching to see just what is round the bend. It is a rare breed and should not be overlooked, or underestimated. It will consume your life if it gets the chance.
Anyway, you can't judge this game on what I am saying, so why not buy it for yourself? Four discs for 20 quid or less? It's a true bargain.
