Final Fantasy: The spirits Within

The spectacular computer generated movie arrived in between Final Fantasy's IX and X, and so was extremely anticipated. The DVD even has two CD's! Marvellous.

The absolutely spectacular ending couldn't save this potential blockbuster from ending up in the drains. I don't know why it was a flop, but it cost a hell of a lot to make, and couldn't make any profit. Still, the games will make up for it, won't they?

Final Fantasy X

At the beginning of the movie, you are treated to a magnificent opening sequence in which Aki is constantly running from these mysterious things, which are invisible and can move through walls. It's classic Final Fantasy, filling your mind with  questions, but with a darker side never seen in the games.
With the apparent life threatening enemy established, we then see the heroes. A Captain in the military and his team, and two doctors. But, as the film progresses we see that there are more characters. A misguided general who believes he is doing the right thing. Is he a good guy or a bad guy? He's an anti-hero who can't make the right choices.
