I was bored so I was just wandering around the palace the next day, when I overheard two people arguing. The voices sounded familiar but I dismissed the thought. It was sounding very Jerry, so I decided to stick it out. I recognized that one of the voices was Numair's and decided to go in for a better look. I could Numairs face but I couldn't see the girls. The person who I assumed to be Daine was laughing hysterically nearby.
"And why weren't you answering my spells. I needed to get a hold of you. What if it was IMPORTANT." He was way overacting and waving his arms animatedly.
"Well, I met a guy and he was cute!" Daine grinned and nodded in agreement. Numair turned his head and glared at his wife.
"Why are you over reacting?" The other person challenged.
"Because, ... Because, What are YOU looking at?" Numair yelled at me as he flung his arms into the air. Darn he saw me.
As the other girl turned around I noticed it was Sarah, MY SARAH! "Sarah!"
"Leah?"
"SARAH!"
"LEAH!"
"SARAH!"
"LEAH!"
"SAR-"
"I take it two know each other." Numair cut in.
"To put it mildly, yeah!" Sarah, my Sarah, said to Numair very sarcastically.
"But I thought you didn't know Sarah Starr?" Numair said puzzled. Sarah turned slightly red knowing that I alone knew she got her last name from her idol, Ringo Starr, of the BEATLES.
"Yeah, well I didn't know Leah Cassadine." Was Sarah's sharp remark. I knew I was safe though. Sarah didn't watch soaps.
"Oh migod! I have to show you around the palace, ... and show you all of Numair's ex-lovers!"
"SARAH @%*&%$#@ !!!!!!!" Numair screamed as Sarah dragged me away very quickly.
After we escaped Numair's presence, we both bust up giggling.
"How the heck did ya' get here?"
"I was driving my car after I couldn't find you and I swerved so I wouldn't hit a cat. Then I slid over into a ditch and I hit my head on the steering wheel and wound up here."
"Okay, so like how do you know Numair?" Pondering what the heck the connection between these two was.
"I am his student. Evidently I have a lot of the gift with a touch of Wild Magic, so I guess all that wicca practice wasn't in vain. He hasn't seen this combination before so he was interested. Plus you don't see many people falling out of the sky everyday."
"Hmm, that seems to be happening a lot lately."
"So how did you get here?"
Hmm, I was wondering about that myself, "Well I couldn't find you and you didn't show up-"
"I did too show up, flagpole 2:55." Sarah broke in.
"No, we were supposed to meet by the cirlce at 2:50." But, anyway, I got bumped and turned to yell at whoever bumped me and then I turned around only to hit a lightpost. And then, shazzah, I wake up in the royal forrest and Merric is standing by waiting for me to wake up and then he tells me I wearing weird clothes." I told her all that had happened my first day in Tortall. "So any way, how DID you become Numair's apprentice?"
"Well, as I said I have a bunch of the gift and a touch of wild magic, and since he had never seen this combination before he wanted to know what would happen with the mixtures of magic so he naturally wanted to do experiments. But when he found out I had no training, and well, let’s say I almost shot somebody…-”
“With what?” I broke in, because she was taking to long to answer me.
“Raw magic, so he flipped and threw one of his hissy fitsexample what just happened, but you learn to love him, because I didn’t answer one of his silly portal spells.”
“Yeah, I totally thought he was going to get ‘Jerry’ on you.”
“He’s always like that. Well, anyway when he learned that I had no control he flipped and practically forced me to become his apperentice, not that I would have minded if he had forced me or anything.” Sarah grinned devilishly.
“So tell me more about this guy you met in port Caynn…”
