Chapter 10 ~ Sarah's Magical Mystery Tour

After a few minutes of calming down, we all had remembered that Erin was going to get a ride home from Sarah, but had changed her mind, and had gone home with her boyfriend, Seth instead.

"You know what?" Sara started. "Everyone here has had something to do with Sarah car, wOw! Hey, cool! It's her own Magical Mystery Car." With that Sara started singing Magical Mystery Tour. (Sorry Beatles Reference :-B )

I was going to stay and chat with Erin, but I realized I had already gotten up late. "Sorry guys, I gotta go work. Fill me in later...," I called as I walked out the door. And with that, I started my day with the priests.

It wasn't interesting at all. It was mostly boring explaining stuff and reading and helping some who were trying to learn it.

I finished for the day around dinner time. I was exhausted. I was almost fell asleep at dinner. Sara was trying to explain about her day with Erin, but I could barely stay awake none the less follow her conversation. I heard bits and pieces of it though.

"Oh, by the way Leah, did I tell you I was going to marry Joey?"

I defiantly heard that. I sat up straight, "What?!?"

"Oh, so you ARE awake," Joey added with a smile. "So, do you think we'd make a cute couple?"

"Yeah, but-"

"We're joking, Leah," Sara and Joey were both laughing out right at that.

After dinner I fell right asleep and sleep soundly, glad I only had one night left here. God, they were actually making me work. Who would've thought...

The next day I woke up at dawn and worked with the priests till midnight taking only short breaks every hour or so. As I crawled into bed barely able to change out of my clothes, I noticed all of my bags were packed and ready to go in the morning. "Ohh,...". I had forgotten about us leaving early the next morning.

When I woke up I found myself on something brown, warm and moving. I was duly confused. When I tried to sit up I found myself tied down. "What the-"

"Good, your up," Sara called from behind me. "We didn't know when you'd get up. It's nearly noon. Joey, you can untie her now." I sounded more like an order. Hmm, she's got him whipped and they aren't even going out... - Cool.

Joey came over and untied me and when I sat up on the brown, warm thing, a.k.a.- my horse I saw that we were on our way back to Corus. I looked around trying to ignore the growing migraine in my head, and saw the people we were traveling with. There was Sara and Joey, of corse, but as I looked behind me, I saw the short priest and Erin! "Erin, I didn't know you were going to come with us!" I winced, my headache was getting terrible.

"Tut, tut. We can't have that," the short priest came trotting forward and said something that made my headache disappear.

"Thanks."

"So Leah, do you know how we got you tied to a horse?" Sara looked at me devilishly.

"I don't know, do I? Whose idea was this anyway?"

"Umm, yeah, that would be me," Sara said looking very proud of herself. "Do you?"

"Well, since you'll tell me even if I say no, let's just not waste time. Shoot,"

"Well," she paused. "You were sleeping so soundly, we didn't want to wake you so, Joey here threw you over his shoulder-"

"And I didn't wake up, you're lying."

"I am not, so anyway you woke up and said something to the extent of, 'I'm not going today so leave me alone'. So Joey said 'fine' and then you started to sleep some more. You know what?" She went on without pausing. "You drooled all over the back of his shirt!"

"I did not!"

"You did too and we've got witnesses," Erin chimed in.

"Don't worry I won't hold it against you, since you obviously don't hold your grudge" Joey added from behind me.

"What grudge?" I said with my headache coming back.

"Well when I was taking you down the stairs, I uh... Umm, kind of didn't watch your head, and - well let's just say, It should be a little bumpy right now."

"What, he's trying to say is that your head kept bobbing up and down hitting the ceiling, and HE was to stupid to notice." Erin added.

"Really?..." I guess the way I said it made him jump.

"Uhh,.... Well, I'm sorry?"

"Don't worry about it. I'll have a headache and then I'll get over it."

And with that we were all talking about nothing and everything as we rode along.

Later on that night...

After we had found an inn to stop in, we washed up and went down to dine.

"So, what's your pleasure?" asked the old innkeeper. "We're serving venison and pork tonight."

"Ahh, I can't eat a 'Bambi'. I'll have the pork, I guess." Sara replied.

"Are you sure?" A voice called from the table over. "The 'Bambi' tastes pretty good tonight."

Most of our heads turned, except for Joey's. He was grinning madly. Sara looked at the person who obviously repulsed her, and for some unknown reason, let out a high pitched scream.

"Sorry!" called the speaker. I still couldn't see what he looked like. Erin was in my way and didn't look as if she was going to move. "Joey, you son of a chucapbra!"

Joey stood up and grinned even wider. "You low down dirty dog! How are you?"

With those two talking and a VERY upset waiter, we all ordered the pork. Joey was too busy talking so we ordered for him. Pork also, he could complain later. Erin, Sara, and I were NOT going to eat a relative of Bambi anytime soon, and the preist vas a vegetarian so we didn't have to worry about him.

"Oh, wait. I'm sorry. You haven't meet Mulder." Joey called turning back around.

"OH MY GOD! His name is MULDER!!!" Sara whispered loudly. She turned red, probably because he looked at her.

All of a sudden Erin moved out of the way and I finally got to see Mulder. He turned around and looked at me. Oh, MY GOD! This guy's name was not only Mulder, he looked exactly like David Ducovney (a. k. a. ~ Mulder). I couldn't help it I screamed. Not quite as quietly as Sara though. And THAT doesn't happen often.

"What is it? Do I have some sort of mole on my face that suddenly grew up and is so hideous that no one can even LOOK at me?" Mulder looked a little annoyed, but I guessed he was joking.

"I guessed you'd be used to that by now. Why with you're looks, women have been screaming in terror for years." Joey added as Mulder glared at him and then suddenly grinned devilishly.

"Well, your help on that subject really helped me. I mean you were so hideous even as a baby the mid-wife tried to slap your mother."

"Yeah..., well..., so what? Your father's a FROG!" Joey said trying unsuccessfully to reply with a comeback.

"Wow, you got me shaking in my boots with that one." Mulder said his voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Here's your food." as the waiter brought our food. And there was a LOT of it too. Plus seconds. Sara wasn't looking so good. She barely touched her food. Hmm, I made a mental note to see if she was feeling all right.

All through the rest of our dinner, Joey and Mulder exchanged stories and told us about how they were traveling together for awhile when Joey was on his 'journey'.

After dinner, Joey and Mulder were STILL talking. I guess they must have been good friends. I saw Sara go upstairs so I decided to follow her.

"Is something wrong Sara?" I asked. She was looking kind of green around the edges.

"Yeah, I was sure you'd love to hear your 'man' talk about all of his adventures." Erin added as she came up the stairs behind me.

"Oh, I'm just not feeling right. My stomach's queasy and that food was so greasy. Not that it wasn't good or anything." She added as a maid walked by. "No don't look at me like that, Leah! I am NOT pregnant with Lindhall's child!"

Damn, she knew me too well. That was exactly what I was thinking at the moment.

"What?!?" Joey called. He had been standing behind Erin and probably had only heard the last part of the conversation.

"Well," Sara paused. "My friends here think that I'm having an affair with Lindhall and now that I have an upset stomach, their quirky little minds think I'm pregnant none the less."

"Hmm, interesting," the way he said that made it seem entirely suspicious. "Come with me. I have something for an upset stomach in my bag."

"No I don't want to trouble you." Sara said that, even though I could see she was lying right through her teeth, and I knew for sure that she would LOVE to see what he carried in his bags...

"Oh, don't worry. It's no trouble. I was just going there to get something to show Mulder."

•*~Blah, Blah, Blah... a.k.a. - Time lapse~*•

The next day we set off for the last leg of the trip, with one exception, Mulder had joined our ranks. Joey said we would probably get there in the afternoon. Mulder said more near dinner. Knowing that they were men, I assumed that they had placed a bet on it, because Joey wanted to keep on going, and Mulder kept asking us girls if we needed a break. Erin and I both knew that Sara wanted Joey to win, so unless we really had to, we always replied a simple kind no. Everytime we did, Joey would grin and have something in his eyes that was sort of an 'I told you so' in his eyes. After a while. I got tired of this and the next time Mulder asked me, I said yes. When we stopped, we had our lunch. Once again, Joey was trying to rush us. Which we all did, because we were eager to get home. But after we ate Mulder tried reminding Joey that the girls might need a little more time to rest before they ride anymore. That didn't bug us so much. What did though was when he said, "You know they can't help it. They are females. It wasn't their choice right."

Oh, that got us all fired up. Sara and Erin were already packing away the stuff. I got the horses and we were back on the rode in less than 3 min. Mulder probably realized his mistake, and he tried complementing us to make us feel better. It didn't work though. Our feminist genes were kicking in and a little flattery didn't go far with us then.

Mulder's little comment had put an incentive in us to get home quicker. And we did. We were just topping the rise of the hill to the palace at around 2:30 - 3:00. As we passed through the gates, we went our separate ways. Joey and Mulder one way. The priest went with them for a short while and then I saw him turn off. Sara, Erin, and I went off to the group of people waiting our return - Kelly, Sarah, Lisa, Luianne, Daine, and a few others I couldn't tell at the moment. When we reached our group not a word could be heard over the talking.
