Quick hits:

Super Mario 2 was a quick hack of Doki Doki Panic for the Famicom. The American public wanted SMB2, so Nintendo made a quick hack. Opinion varies about the game's quality.

Suddenly, Ocean of America seems very suspect in how they get ideas. Look under Panesian Trio to see why. Have they done that before or after the Soap Panic incident?

Some game secrets are so well hidden, Nintendo can't find them. In Maniac Mansion, a lot of stuff was taken out to please the censors, but they missed the exploding hampster. Nintendo ordered the next batch of carts to have it removed,   but I think there are very few of these carts, as the game sold less than 250,000 units. Nintendo also used the beta 'unclean' version in the magazine, even though they ordered out a nude statue which they claimed had pubic hair. (Lucasarts said none was there in the PC version.)

Super Mario 1 had a hidden water world called -1. It was really hard to get to, and I don't think it was accessible from the multi-carts, at least I didn't get there. Speaking of multi-carts, Duck Hunt was a really fun game. But there is a game genie code to always hit the duck. Kinda ruins the game, but it makes a great show for the easily fooled and inobservant.
