Patty, Selma, Mrs. Bouvier, and Grampa help celebrate Maggie's first birthday. After the party, Marge tells Homer that her mother and his father seem lonely. They take the elderly pair to dinner, hoping to spark a relationship. At Mrs. Bouvier's apartment after dinner, Grampa sees photos of Mrs. Bouvier from her flapper days, and falls in love with her. Meanwhile, Bart orders a genuine Itchy & Scratchy animation cel, advertised on TV, with Homer's credit card. However, when the cel arrives, it vaguely resembles part of Scratchy's arm. Grampa takes Mrs. Bouvier to a senior citizens' swing dance, but Mr. Burns cuts in and dances with Mrs. Bouvier the entire night. Grampa is heartbroken. The following day, Mr. Burns arrives at the Simpsons' house to pick up Mrs. Bouvier for another date. Bart extorts money from him to pay for the worthless cel and gives the money to Homer. Mr. Burns proposes to Mrs. Bouvier, and despite Marge's warnings, she accepts. During the wedding ceremony, however, Mr. Burns kicks Bart when he drops the wedding ring. Repulsed by Burns's behavior, Mrs. Bouvier leaves with Grampa, deciding not to marry either man. |
