The Boy Who Knew Too Much
Original airdate: (5-5-94)

Bart forges a note from Marge that excuses him early from school for a dental appointment. Principal Skinner reads the note and is suspicious. He tracks Bart through town. Bart escapes by jumping inside the car of Freddy Quimby, the mayor's 18-year-old nephew. Arriving at Freddy Quimby's birthday party, he hides beneath a table and witnesses an altercation between Freddy and a waiter.

Freddy Quimby is charged with beating the waiter and Homer is selected to serve on the jury at his trial. Bart confesses to Lisa that he saw what happened and can prove Freddy Quimby is innocent, but if that he comes forward, Skinner will expel him for skipping school.

All the members of the jury conclude that Freddy is guilty--except Homer, who enjoys being sequestered in a hotle with free room service and cable TV. Lisa convinces Bart to testify. Bart states that Feddy never touched the waiter and that the waiter slipped in the kitchen and injured himself. The charges against Quimby are dropped. Skinner praises Bart for his bravery and only sentences him to four months detention.

What really happened to the waiter

He slips on a piece of Rice Krispies square, sliding face-first into a row of hanging skillets. This sends him backwards across the kitchen and headfirst into a microwave oven. One hand gets stuck in a mixing bowl and the other in a toaster. Shrieking he falls backwards into a closet marked "Rat Traps." The waiter emerges covered head-to-toe with the traps and knocks into a row of hanging wine glasses, teetering across the room and falling to the floor.
