Bart and Milhouse find $20 and order an all-syrup Super-Sqishee from Apu. Their senses reeling from the high-sugar content of the drink, They spend the rest of the money on a night out on the town. The next morning, Bart wakes up with a "hangover" and realizes that in the revelry of the night before he joined the Junior Campers, a Boy Scout-style organization. Bart finds that belonging to the group has its advantages. He is excused from taking a test to attend a meeting and gets to carry a pocketknife. Homer joins Bart a\on a father-son rafting trip, despite Bart's fears that his father will embarrass him. When Homer sends the raft hurling down the wrong rapids, the group finds itself drifting far out to sea. As the days adrift take their toll, Homer devours most of their food rations. When he drops a Swiss Army Knife onto the bottom of the raft, its magnifying glass burns a hole through the rubber. As the raft sinks, Homer smells hamburgers and follows his nose the safety of a Krustyburger built on an oil rig. Bart hugs Homer and tells him he is proud. |
