Homer tries to obtain tickets to a football game but fails. Flanders wins two tickets during a radio contest and invites Homer as his guest. Desperate, Homer accepts. Flanders pays for all the food and even gets the winning quarterback to give the game ball to Homer. Overwhelmed by Flanders's generosity and no longer ashamed to be associated with him, Homer becomes friends with Ned and his family. Marge complains that Homer is now ignoring his own family. Homer arranges a camping trip with both families, but the families do not get along. When the Simpsons initiate a food fight, Ned tells Maude he now hates his neighbor. Back home, Homer is oblivious to Ned's animosity. He arrives at the Flanders's home expecting to play golf, but Ned and his family get in their car and race off. Pulled over by the police for speeding, Ned takes a sobriety test as the disapproving townspeople watch. At church, Ned yells at Homer, alarming the congregation. However, Homer sticks up for Ned and convinces the townspeople to give him another chance. The next week, everything returns to normal, as Homer once again is annoyed by Flanders. |
