Lanesville vs. Marquette Catholic (Class 1A Championship)

Lanesville coach Angie Hinton started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Hadley Crosier, 5-7 Jr. Hylton Brumley, 5-10 Sr. Ellie Schneider, 5-5 Sr. Eva Kerr, and 5-6 Sr. Emma Davis. Marquette Catholic coach Katie Collignon countered with 5-11 Jr. Natalie Robinson, 5-7 Fr. Marissa Pleasant, 6-0 Jr. Livia Balling, 5-4 Jr. Jiselle Chabes, and 5-7 So. Laniah Davis.

Lanesville pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Marquette Catholic by the score of 51-43. Marquette got off to a fast start as Marissa Pleasant connected on three quick three point baskets to give the Blazers a 9-2 lead and to make matters worse for Lanesville star Hadley Crosier went down late in the first quarter with a leg injury and was unable to return. Lanesville led 27-26 at halftime but Marquette Catholic rallied to take a 33-31 lead after three quarters. However Lanesville was able to finish strong down the stretch to earn the victory. The future looks bright for Marquette Catholic as all six players who saw action today are slated to return next season.

Lanesville shot 33.3% from the field including three of 20 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on 14 of 18 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 24 Marquette Catholic turnovers. Marquette Catholic shot 37.8% from the field including three of eight from beyond the arc. The Blazers connected on six of 13 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored eight points off nine Lanesville turnovers.

6-1 Jr. Shelby Allen led Lanesville with 20 points including four of five free throws and seven rebounds. Hylton Brumley added 15 points including eight of nine free throws. Emma Davis recorded five points and two assists and Ava Kerr dished out four assists.

Laniah Davis led Marquette Catholic with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Marissa Pleasant added 13 points including three three point baskets and three rebounds. Livia Balling recorded 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Brownstown Central vs. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers (Class 2A Championship)

Brownstown Central coach Brandon Allman started the following lineup: 5-7 Jr. Kinzee Dean, 5-7 So. Harley Toppe, 5-9 So. Sophie Wischmeier. 5-4 Sr. Kelsey Schneider, and 5-6 Jr. Jenna Klosterman. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers coach Mark Pixley countered with 6-0 Sr. Addie Shank, 5-9 Jr. Maggie Parent, 6-2 So. Miley Wareing, 5-7 Sr. Annika Davis, and 5-7 Sr. Kyndal Tyree.

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers trailed 24-15 at halftime but rallied in the second half to defeat Brownstown Central 44-36 and earn a record tying seven state championship. There were seven lead changes and four ties in this game. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers shot 46.9% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 10 of 18 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Browntown Central turnovers. Brownstown Central shot 31.7% from the field including two of 22 from beyond the arc. The Braves connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored nine points off 15 Fort Wayne Bishop Luers turnovers.

Miley Wareing led Fort Wayne Bishop Luers with 17 points including five of seven free throws, 10 rebounds, and two steals. Annika Davis added 10 points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, five assits, and two steals. Kyndal Tyree recorded six points including three of four free throws, two rebounds, and three assists.

Sophie Wischmeier led Brownstown Central with 11 points including seven of eight free throws, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Harley Toppe added 10 points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, and three steals. Jenna Klosterman recorded seven points, six rebounds, amd five assists.

Gibson Southern coach Kyle Brasher started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Gabby Spink, 5-8 Jr. Nola Ravellette. 6-1 Fr. Paige Schnaus, 5-5 Sr. Ally Malone, and 5-7 Sr. Chloey Graham. Norwell coach Eric Thornton countered with 5-10 So. Vanessa Rosswurm, 5-7 Sr. Kennedy Fuelling, 6-1 Sr. Dekota Hubble, 5-6 Sr. Annabelle Johnson, and 5-6 Sr.Makenzie Fuess.

Gibson Southern withstood a late Norwell rally and a last second shot to earn a 63-60 victory and the championship. Gibson Southern shot 48% from the field including 11 of 20 from the three point line. The Titans connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 Norwell turnovers. Norwell shot 38.7% from the field including three of 14 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 25 Gibson Southern turnovers.

Chloey Graham led Gibson Southern with 22 points including six three point baskets, three rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Gabby Spink added 17 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, and six assists. Paige Schnaus recorded 12 points, 16 rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Ally Malone chipped in with six points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Nola Ravellette six points and three rebounds.

Makenzie Fuess led Norwell with 16 points including two three point baskets, four of four free throws, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Kennedy Fuelling added 15 points, four rebounds, four assists, and seven steals. Vanessa Rosswurm recorded 14 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. Dekota Hubble chipped in with nine points, nine rebounds, two steals, and four blocked shots,

Lake Central coach Joe Huppenthal countered with 5-10 Sr. Aniyah Bishop, 5-8 Sr. Nadia Clayton, 6-0 Jr. Ayla Krygier, 5-6 Jr. Vanessa Wimberly, and 5-7 Sr. Riley Milausnic.

Lawrence Central outscored Lake Central 19-2 in the second quarter to take control of the game on their way to a 55-28 victory. Lawrence Central shot 46.8% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line. The Bears connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored nine points off 13 Lake Central turnovers. Lake Central shot 26.2% from the field including three of 19 from beyond the arc. The Indians connected on three of eight free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 15 Lawrence Central turnovers.

Jaylah Lampley led Lawrence Central with 19 points including four three point baskets, nine rebounds, and two assists. Aniyah NcKenzie added 12 points and nine rebounds. Lola Lampley recorded 12 points, eight rebounds, and two assists. Laila Abdurraqib chipped in with four points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

Vanessa Wimberly led Lake Central with 14 points including two three point baskets, and three steals. Aniyah Bishop recorded four points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocked shots.

Tates Creek coach Jana Costner countered with 5-8 Sr. Ashton Harris, 5-8 Sr. Chloe Byrd, 5-9 7th Grade Isabelle Ellison, 5-7 Fr. Kaleigh Potts, and 5-6 Jr. Miracle Morbley.

Tates Creek defeated Scott County by the score of 69-62. The score was tied five times and there were five lead changes in this game. Tates Creek shot 35.6% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line. The Lady Commodores connected on 22 of 35 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 20 Scott County turnovers. Scott County shot 35.4% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc. The Lady Cardinals connected on 10 of 12 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 17 Tates Creek turnovers.

Kaleigh Potts led Tates Creek with 21 points including two three point baskets, 11 of 16 free throws, eight rebounds, three assists, and five steals. Ashton Harris added 21 points including eight of 12 free throws, eight rebounds, two blocks, and three steals. Miracle Morbley recorded 11 points, eight rebounds, and four steals. 5-8 Fr. Alyiah Baird chipped in with seven points including two three point baskets, and four rebounds.

Allison Mosby led Scott County with 16 points, nine rebounds, and two steals. Maleiyah Moore added 14 points including four three point baskets, five rebounds, and two steals. Kaylen Perry recorded 10 points, three rebounds, and five assists. 5-7 Jr. Nmya Summers chipped in with nine points, five rebounds, and two steals. Kierstin Young added seven points including five of six free throws, four rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and two steals. 5-7 So. Newport Central Catholic shot 31.9% from the field including six of 24 from beyond the arc. The Lady Broncos connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 10 Sacred Heart Academy turnovers.

Angelina Pelay led Sacred Heart with 23 points on 10 of 11 from the field including one for one beyond the arc, three rebounds, and two assists. 5-11 Sr. Reagan Bender added 23 points including three three point baskets, two rebounds, and two steals. ZaKiyah Johnson recorded 12 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, two blocked shots, and two steals. 5-3 Fr. North Laurel defeated Henry Clay by the score of 60-45. North Laurel shot 45% from the field including six of 15 from the three point line. The Lady Jaguars connected on 18 of 25 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 Henry Clay turnovers. Henry Clay shot 37% from the field including six of 18 from beyond the arc. The Lady Blue Devils connected on five of five free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored eight points off six North Laurel turnovers.

Brooke Nichelson led North Laurel with 27 points including three three point baskets, eight of 11 free throws, four rebounds, and four assists. Chloe McKnight added 12 points including eight of 10 free throws, and seven rebounds. Jaelyn Black recorded eight points including two three point baskets, three assists, and three steals. Haley Combs chipped in with eight points and two assists. 6-2 Fr, Marielle Claybrook added five points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Lydia Van Metre led Henry Clay with 13 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, and two assists. Elizabeth Nelson added eight points and five rebounds. 5-5 7th Grade Tamia Waide recorded eight points, four rebounds, and two assists. Allison Stone chipped in with six points, four rebounds, and two assists.

Jackson County coach Kourtney Tyra started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Jenna Creech, 5-8 Jr. Annslee Nichols, 6-2 Jr. Abby Gilbert, 5-4 So. Lauryn Sizemore, and 5-8 Sr. Madison Curry. Great Crossing coach Matt Walls countered with 5-11 Sr. Ava Schureman, 5-8 Sr. Olivia Tierney, 6-1 Jr. Kennedy Harrison, 5-3 8th Grade Kendall Kearney, and 5-6 Jr, Jaelle Henderson.

Great Crossing survived a late Jackson County rally to earn a 58-57 victory. The score was tied 30-30 at halftime but Great Crossing outscored Jackson County 21-12 to take a 51-42 lead after three quarters. There were four lead changes and six ties in this game. Great Crossing shot 46.3% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line. The Lady Warhawks connected on three of six free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 14 Jackson County turnovers. Jackson County shot 43.8% from the field including three of 16 from beyond the arc. The Lady Generals connected on 12 of 14 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 16 Great Crossing turnovers.

Olivia Tierney led Great Crossing with 15 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and three assists. 5-5 Fr, Nia Carr added 14 points, three assists, and four steals. Kendall Kearney recorded nine points, two assists, and three steals. Kennedy Harrison chipped in with six points and 10 rebounds. Jaelle Henderson added five points and five rebounds. Ava Schureman recorded four points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

Abby Gilbert led Jackson County with 28 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, four blocked shots, and three steals. Madison Curry added 12 points, two assists, and two steals. Annslee Nichols recorded six points, four rebounds, and two steals.

Woodford County coach Jaron Brown countered with 6-2 Jr. Jaunte Jenkins, 6-2 Fr. Thurman Wade, 6-4 Sr. Layton Starks, 5-9 Fr. Omari Jointer, and 5-11 Jr. Nolan Asher.

Woodford County defeated Lexington Christian Academy by the score of 75-58. Woodford County led 26-24 at halftime but outscored LCA 28-15 in the third quarter. There were six lead changes and seven ties in this game. Woodford County shot 46.3% from the field including four of 20 from the three point line. The Yellow Jackets connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 11 LCA turnovers. Lexington Christian Academy shot 41.1% from the field including five of 20 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on seven of eight free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored four points off seven Woodford County turnovers.

Thurman Wade led Woodford County with 17 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Omari Jointer added 14 points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Jaunte Jenkins recorded 14 points, five rebounds, and two steals. Layton Starks chipped in with 12 points and five rebounds. 5-11 Jr. Santonio Waide added six points, two rebounds, and five assists. Nolan Asher recorded six points and five rebounds. 6-0 Fr. Wyatt Peters chipped in with sic points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.

6-2 Jr. Andersen Green led Lexington Christian Academy with 20 points including three three point baskets and two assists. Kenyatta Hardge added 12 points and nine rebounds. Saxton Howard recorded 10 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Hagan Preston chipped in with nine points, five rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.

Madison Southern coach Steve Wright countered with 6-3 Sr. Jay Rose, 6-1 Sr. Zach Hudson, 6-2 Sr. Avery Davidson, 5-8 Jr. Casen Nobbe, and 6-0 Sr. Braden Hudson.

Madison Southern trailed 57-54 after three quarters but outscored Bryan Station 29-19 in the final quarter to earn an 83-76 victory. There were six ties and seven lead changes in this game. Madison Southern shot 52.5% from the field including eight of 24 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on 11 of 20 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 12 Bryan Station turnovers. Bryan Station shot 46.5% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc. The Defenders connected on only six of 17 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored six points off five Madison Southern turnovers.

Jay Rose led Bryan Station with 37 points including two three point baskets, and eight rebounds. Braden Hudson added 14 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Casen Nobbe recorded 12 points, two rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. Zach Hudson chipped in with 10 points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Avery Davidson added seven points and four rebounds.
