Jackson County vs. Great Crossing (Girls)

Jackson County coach Kourtney Tyra started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Jenna Creech, 5-8 Jr. Annslee Nichols, 6-2 Jr. Abby Gilbert, 5-4 So. Lauryn Sizemore, and 5-8 Sr. Madison Curry. Great Crossing coach Matt Walls countered with 5-11 Sr. Ava Schureman, 5-8 Sr. Olivia Tierney, 6-1 Jr. Kennedy Harrison, 5-3 8th Grade Kendall Kearney, and 5-6 Jr, Jaelle Henderson.

Great Crossing survived a late Jackson County rally to earn a 58-57 victory. The score was tied 30-30 at halftime but Great Crossing outscored Jackson County 21-12 to take a 51-42 lead after three quarters. There were four lead changes and six ties in this game. Great Crossing shot 46.3% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line. The Lady Warhawks connected on three of six free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 14 Jackson County turnovers. Jackson County shot 43.8% from the field including three of 16 from beyond the arc. The Lady Generals connected on 12 of 14 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 16 Great Crossing turnovers.

Olivia Tierney led Great Crossing with 15 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and three assists. 5-5 Fr, Nia Carr added 14 points, three assists, and four steals. Kendall Kearney recorded nine points, two assists, and three steals. Kennedy Harrison chipped in with six points and 10 rebounds. Jaelle Henderson added five points and five rebounds. Ava Schureman recorded four points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

Abby Gilbert led Jackson County with 28 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, four blocked shots, and three steals. Madison Curry added 12 points, two assists, and two steals. Annslee Nichols recorded six points, four rebounds, and two steals.
