St. Xavier upset Male 31-21 to capture the Class 6A title.  St. Xavier finished the season at 14-1 while Male suffered their first loss and finished the season at 13-1.  Male led 13-7 at halftime but St. Xavier outscored the Bulldogs 24-8 in the second half.  Prayers go out to the Schutte family as Male QB Nic Schutte lost his father earlier this week and it was a very emotional week for Male preparing for the game.  St. Xavier  QB Jack Sivori was the story in this game as he launched an aerial attack (306 yards and three touchdowns) that grounded Male’s title hopes and the Tiger defense stepped up to force three turnovers tonight.  St. Xavier recorded 18 first downs and 370 yards.  The Tigers were penalized four times for 57 yards and lost a fumble.  Male recorded 19 first downs and 414 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized five times for 29 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Jack Sivori led St. Xavier’s ground game with 64 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries.  Jack Sivori completed 22 of 36 passes for 306 yards and three touchdowns.  Mekhi Smith caught 10 passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns.  Michael Duddy added three receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown.  Jack. Campisano recorded three receptions for 29 yards.  Will Beckmann returned two kickoffs for 24 yards.  Brand. Shaffner led the defense with eight solo and one assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Jax. Panariello added four solo and one assisted tackles.  Tyler Boggs recorded four solo tackles and intercepted a pass. Matthew Donhoff also intercepted a pass.

Daniel Swinney led Male’s ground game with 121 yards on 24 carries.  Nic Schutte carried the ball nine times for 22 yards.  Lucas Cobler added 21 yards on two carries.  Nic Schutte completed 11 of 19 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions.  D. Vrbancic caught five passes for 80 yards and a touchdown.  Vinny Anthony added two receptions for 129 yards and two touchdowns.  Max Gainey returned five kickoffs for 60 yards with a long return of 22 yards.  Vinny Anthony returned one kickoff for 25 yards.  Noah Thomas led the defense with eight solo tackles.  DeShaun Cooper added six solo tackles.  Elijah Manning recorded four solo and two assisted tackles.  Brandon Dobbs chipped in with three solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 17 yard loss.  Ronald Howard recovered a fumble.

South Warren defeated Frederic Douglass by the score of 38-26.  South Warren finishes the season at 14-1 while Frederick Douglass completed their season ay 13-2.  South Warren recorded 18 first downs and 425 yards of total offense.  They were penalized eight times for 136 yards and lost a fumble.  Frederick Douglass recorded 13 first downs and 330 yards of total offense.  The Broncos were penalized four times for 45 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Luke Burton led South Warren’s ground game with 79 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries.  Kobe Martin carried the ball 20 times for 48 yards.  Caden Veltkamp completed 19 of 24 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns.  Avrin Bell caught five passes for 95 yards.  Kobe Martin added five receptions for 34 yards.  Tyler Snell caught three passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns.  Luke Burton chipped in with two receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown.  C. Conyers returned two kickoffs for 54 yards with a long return of 28 yards.  Jaden Stephens and Tyler Snell each recorded four solo tackles.  Jake Jackson added three solo tackles.  Avrin Bell chipped in with two solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss and intercepted a pass. 

TJ Horton led Frederick Douglass’ ground game with 43 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.  Samuel Cornett completed 13 of 26 passes for 274 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.  Dane Key caught five passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns.  Cameron Dunn added four receptions for 74 yards.  Ty Bryant returned two kickoffs for 53 yards with a long return of 35 yards.  Tashawn Benford led the defense with eight solo and three assisted tackles.  Caden Johnson added eight solo tackles.  Ty Bryant and O. Commodore each recorded six solo and two assisted tackles.  Tresean Benford added five solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 16 yard loss.  Isaiah Kennedy recovered a fumble he returned 13 yards.

Belfry’s Isaac Dixon scored on a 62 yard touchdown run with less than five minutes left in the game to give Belfry a 33-28 victory over Paducah Tilghman.  Belfry recorded 26 first downs and 466 yards of total offense (all on the ground).  The Pirates were penalized six times for 51 yards and lost two fumbles.  Paducah Tilghman recorded 17 first downs and 313 yards of total offense.  They were penalized three times for 30 yards and lost a fumble.

Isaac Dixon led Belfry’s ground game with 376 yards and five touchdowns on 41 carries.  Dre Young carried the ball 14 times for 67 yards.  Zayne Hatfield added 24 yards on six carries.  Belfry did not attempt any passes today.  Neal Copley returned one kickoff for 14 yards.  Isaac Dixon led the defense with seven solo tackles.  Isaiah Stanley added five solo and two assisted tackles.  B. Hatfield recorded four solo and four assisted tackles.  Giddeon Ireson recovered a fumble.

Malachi Rider led Paducah Tilghman’s ground game with 110 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries.  Jack James completed 13 of 20passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns.  Brian Thomas caught four passes for 68 yards.  Camdon Marshall added four receptions for 67 yards and three touchdowns.  LeBran McMullen caught two passes for 27 yards.  JeQuan Warren returned four kickoffs for 82 yards with a long return of 29 yards.  Camdon Marshall led the defense with eight solo and seven assisted tackles.  Jimmy Mooney added four solo and six assisted tackles.  John Kiebler recorded four solo and five assisted tackles.  Brian Thomas and Tamago Daniels each recovered a fumble.

Boyle County defeated Johnson Central by the score of 30-13 to capture the championship and finish their season at 14-1.  Johnson Central finished the season at 12-3.  Boyle County recorded 15 first downs and 416 yards of total offense.  The Rebels were penalized eight times for 65 yards.  Johnson Central recorded 12 first downs and 277 yards of total offense.  The Golden Eagles were penalized once for one yard.

Avery Bodner led Boyle County’s ground game with 154 yards on 16 carries.  Jagger Gillis carried the ball 23 times for 131 yards and two touchdowns.  Jagger Gillis completed six of nine passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns.  Cole Lanter caught five passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns.  Cole Lanter returned two punts for 36 yards with a long return of 19 yards.  Will Alexander returned two kickoffs for 39 yards with a long return of 22 yards.  Dalton Stone led the defense with four solo and five assisted tackles.  Sage Dawson added five solo and two assisted tackles.  Cole Sims recorded four solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss.

Zach McCoart led Johnson Central’s ground game with 111 yards on nine carries.  Chase Price carried the ball 10 times for 62 yards and a touchdown.  Grant Rice added 37 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.  Grant Rice completed three of three passes for seven yards.  Zach McCoart completed his only pass for 34 yards.  Keygan Pelfrey caught three passes for 38 yards.  Zach McCoart returned one kickoff for 14 yards.  Mason LeMaster led the defense with seven solo and six assisted tackles.  Ryleh McKenzie added six solo and four assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss.  Jacob Cain recorded six solo and one assisted tackles.

Jake Conrad kicked a 36 yard field goal with 1:50 left on the clock to give Beechwood a 23-21 victory over Lexington Christian Academy.  Beechwood stormed out to a 20-0 lead but LCA fought back and took a 21-20 lead in the third quarter.  Beechwood finished the season 15-0 while Lexington Christian Academy fell to 14-1.  Beechwood recorded 14 first downs and 277 yards of total offense.  The Tigers were penalized four times for 35 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Lexington Christian Academy recorded 12 first downs and 258 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized twice for 16 yards and lost two fumbles.

Cameron Hergott led Beechwood’s ground game with 161 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries.  Mitchell Berger carried the ball 12 times for 60 yards and a touchdown.  Cameron Hergott completed six of 12 passes for 58 yards with one interception.  Mitchell Berger caught three passes for 15 yards.  Parker Mason, Keaton Durrett, and Liam McCormick each caught one pass for 18, 13, and 12 yards respectively.  Mitchell Berger returned one kickoff for 17 yards.  Austin Waddell led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles.  Liam McCormick added five solo and two assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  C. Craycraft recorded five solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  Parker Mason also recovered a fumble.

Xavier Brown led LCA’s ground game with 66 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.  Jay Emerson carried the ball six times for 44 yards.  Drew Nieves completed six of 14 passes for 138 yards and one touchdown.  Jeffrey Selby caught two passes for 69 yards.  Mason Moore added two receptions for 43 yards.  Parker Chaney caught two passes for 13 yards and a touchdown.  Parker Chaney returned three kickoffs for 65 yards with a long return of 28 yards.  Xavier Brown returned one kickoff for 35 yards.  Jeffrey Selby led the defense with 10 solo tackles.  Will Nichols added four solo and three assisted tackles.  J. Drake recorded four solo and one assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 14 yards.  Tyler Morris recorded two solo and two assisted tackles and scored on an 11 yard fumble recovery return.  Evan Brown intercepted a pass.

Pikeville led 30-13 late in the second quarter and held on to earn a 30-27 victory and the championship over Russellville.  Pikeville finishes the season at 14-2 while Russellville finished at 12-2.  Pikeville recorded 11 first downs and 261 yards of total offense.  The Panthers were penalized twice for 10 yards.  Russellville recorded 10 first downs and 296 yards of total offense.  They were penalized four times for 27 yards.

Blake Birchfield led Pikeville’s ground game with 179 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries.  Isaac McNamee completed seven of 17 passes for 74 yards and one touchdown.  Wade Hensley caught two passes for 66 yards and a touchdown.  Blake Caudill punted six times for a 38.3 average and a long punt of 55 yards with three punts inside the 20 yard line.  Blake Caudill returned one kickoff for 29 yards.  Devin DeRossett led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a six yard loss.  Luke Ray added four solo and one assisted tackles.  Logan Reed recorded three solo and one assisted tackles.

Jaquis Todd led Russellville’s ground game with 134 yards and two touchdowns on four carries.  Jovari Gamble carried the ball 12 times for 42 yards.  Lennon Ries completed six of 15 passes for 97 yards and one touchdown.  Jovari Gamble completed one of one passes for four yards and a touchdown.  Anthony Woodard caught three passes for 83 yards and two touchdowns.  AnthonyWoodard returned four punts for 18 yards with a long return of 12 yards and returned one kickoff for 22 yards.  Chevis Elliott and Jaquis Todd each returned one kickoff for 72 and 28 yards respectively.  Chevis Elliott led the defense with nine solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  Anthony Woodard added five solo and one assisted tackles.

Madison Central coach Allen Feldhaus started the following lineup: 6-6 Jr. Trey Skaggs, 6-4 Sr. Will Hardin, 6-7 Sr. Robby Todd, 5-11 So. Parker Mullins, and 6-5 Jr. Jaylen Davis.  Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 6-1 Sr. Isaiah Romero, 6-0 So. Logan Taylor, 6-6 Sr. Abe Nelson, 5-11 Jr. Jayd Huyhn, and 6-0 Sr. Javon Adams.

 

Madison Central defeated Lafayette by the score of 75-66.  Madison Central shot 46.2% from the field including seven of 18 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 20 of 24 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 13 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 52.2% from the field including five of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on 13 of 15 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 14 points off seven Madison Central turnovers.

 

Robby Todd led Madison Central with 18 points including eight of nine free throws, and 13 rebounds.  Jaylen Davis added 18 points including four three point baskets, four of four free throws, three rebounds, and two assists.  Will Hardin recorded 16 points including five of five free throws and six rebounds.  Trey Skaggs chipped in with 12 points, three rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

 

Isaiah Romero led Lafayette with 15 points including three three point baskets, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Jayd Huyhn added 15 points including six of seven free throws and five assists.  Abe Nelson recorded 15 points and four rebounds.  6-4 Jr. Jack Ackerman chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds.

Madison Central coach Brad Lovely started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Bailey Hensley, 5-7 So. Eden Carter, 5-9 Sr. Kessaney Melton, 5-7 Fr. Brittany Campbell, and 5-6 Fr. Nataya Strader.  Rockcastle County coach Chrysti Noble countered with 6-0 Jr. Keelee King, 5-10 So. Alexa Camryn Cash, 6-1 So. Talynne Shearer, 5-3 Sr. Addison McClure, and 5-3 Jr. Karlee Smith.

 

Rockcastle County defeated Madison Central by the score of 62-47.  Rockcastle County shot 50% from the field including five of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Rockets connected on 17 of 26 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 28 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 32.7% from the field including five of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Indians connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 21 Rockcastle County turnovers.

 

Keelee King led Rockcastle County with 21 points including four three point baskets, three of three free throws, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Talynne Shearer added 10 points, four rebounds, three assists, three blocked shots, and three steals.  5-6 8th Grader Taylor King chipped in with eight points and five steals.  Alexa Camryn Cash recorded five points and seven rebounds.  

 

5-7 So. Olivia Metcalfe led Madison Central with eight points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, and two assists.  Brittany Campbell added seven points and two steals.  Bailey Hensley recorded six points and seven rebounds.  5-7 Fr. Brooke Campbell chipped in with six points including two three point baskets and three rebounds.  5-3 Fr. Lina Guerra added six points, two rebounds, and two steals.

Trenton Cutwright.  Frederick Douglass coach Jason Moseley countered with 6-7 Jr. Tyson Barrett, 6-1 Jr. Weston Pentecost, 6-7 Sr. Shemar O’Roy-Ford, 5-5 Fr. Armelo Boone, and 5-11 Jr. Kai Simpson.

 

Bryan Station defeated Frederick Douglass by the score of 92-73.  Bryan Station shot 52.1% from the field including nine of 18 from the three point line.  The Defenders connected on nine of 19 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 24 Frederick Douglass turnovers.  Frederick Douglass shot 51% from the field including five of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Broncos connected on 16 of 19 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 14 Bryan Station turnovers.

 

Kamuena Bless led Bryan Station with 31 points including six three point baskets, 16 rebounds, and three steals.  6-0 Sr. JMarious Lindsay added 18 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Trenton Cutwright and Jaden Biggers recorded 15 and 11 points respectively.  Jaden Green chipped in with nine points, three rebounds, five assists, and seven steals.

 

Kai Simpson led Frederick Douglass with 29 points including nine of 11 free throws.  Tyson Barrett added 17 points, seven rebounds, and six blocked shots.  Derion Talbert chipped in with 11 points.  Armelo Boone recorded 10 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
