Berea coach Dammian Stepp started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Chesney Lovins, 5-8 Sr. Alexis Newman, 6-0 Sr. Madison Howell, 4-10 Sr. Isis Rodgers, and 5-6 Sr. Mati Stepp. Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 5-10 Sr. Olivia Cathers, 5-10 Fr. Savannah Simpson, 6-0 Sr. Anaya Brown, 5-1 Sr. Catherine Jacobs, and 5-5 Jr. Gracyn Grantz.
Berea 26-23 after three quarters but outscored Lafayette 22-11 in the final quarter to pull away for a 48-34 victory. There were six lead changes and two ties in this game. Berea shot 32.1% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line. The Lady Pirates connected on 26 of 33 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored five points off 14 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 25.6% from the field including three of 17 from beyond the arc. The Lady Generals connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored seven points off 15 Berea turnovers.
Alexis Newman led Berea with 18 points including four three point baskets and four of four free throws. Madison Howell added 15 points including 11 of 15 free throws, five rebounds, four blocked shots, and two steals. Chesney Lovins recorded six points including four of six free throws and three rebounds.
Anaya Brown led Lafayette with 15 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and two steals. Olivia Cathers added 11 points including two three point baskets and seven rebounds.
